I have just finished Percy Jackson and the lightning thief. Enjoyable and had lots of things in it different from the film which stopped it being too predictable. A very easy read.
Started Spectacles by Sue Perkins now.

Morning all.
Almost finished the komandants girl, The ending is building well and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I'll hang on to the first and pass them on when they are all finished. Just got hold of the third and final book in the set so think I'll read them as a block.SPC~12 ot 124

I finished Perdido Street Station last night, I wasn't expecting to but I really enjoyed it. It's the first part of a trilogy and have the second one already in my list to read
I preordered a final book in a trilogy which is being released tomorrow. It's City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin, the third part of The Passage trilogy. Once I get that tomorrow I will start reading it0 -
Hi everyone, I'd love to join this challenge! I'm always starting books, but can never finish them as I'm always buying more and am too excited to start the new ones, until it happens again and I see another book I want to read!
I'm currently trying to finish Nightwood by Djuna Barnes (I started it last year but stopped halfway through to read Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides... As you can probably guess I didn't finish that one either!)0 -
Welcome Faust, hope you manage to finish a book soon.

I just finished reading the Sidney Sheldon, off to the CS it is. I enjoyed his style, very crisp and fast paced. Put another on the library list for the kitchen, not many of them on audio.
I think I might try to finish "You are not like other mothers" a true German Jewish family saga. I do enjoy it but it's a very big book! My mum managed to finish it within a week when she came to visit ....or I could start "The miniaturist", as I want to give it to my friend for her birthday in July.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
Omg how have I not discovered this thread before??
My name is owlet and I'm a bookaholic lol
Will start at the beginning of the thread and then join in if that's ok. I transferred my reading to kindle a few years ago because the book siyuation was getting daft. Hubby is a bookworm too but we like different genres.
Look forward to joining inlater x

Well, I haven't read every page lol but I read the first and last 50.
I'm a huge fan of historical fiction . If you like a good saga that's true to time, try The Morland Dynasty by Cynthia Harrod Eagles. It's not mse though - there are 35 books - but I've thoroughly enjoyed every one. They start in the 1200s I think up to almost present day.
I also like Alison Weir, Philippa Gregory, Christopher Gortner, Conn Iggulden, Elizabeth Chadwick, Elizabeth Freemantle, Sandra Heath Wilson, Sharon Penman and more. Oh yes, Hilary Mantel : Wolf Hall & Bring up the Bodies - fantastic
I also like classics like Thomas Hardy & authors like Wilbur Smith.
I'm also a big fan of Alexander McCall Smith but I can't get on with reading his books at all. On audio though, they are ace.
I keep saying I won't buy any more because I have 95 unread on my kindle .
Book bub keep sending offers that are too good to miss but I do try to just get the free ones.
I've got boxes of books stored in the gararge that I can't bring myself to part with. I suppose I should.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

Hi Owlet! I love Conn Iggulden, read his Conquerer series (although still have the final book on my wishlist as not got to that yet). I have a few books on my kindle to read as well, they soon mount up when they're digital! I buy some physical books if they are cheaper than the ebook or if I see it in a shop for a bargain. But storing them is a pain
I tend to give them away when I've finished them, or use webuybooks, or when I commuted I used to leave them on the bus/train for someone else to love!
When I was a teenager I loved historical fiction, but haven't gotten into it for quite a while.0 -
Hi Chica, I have read the wars of thr roses series and loved it. However, I discovered the othef day that there is now a book 4 in the series and on kindle its £9 . odd - for a kindle book!!!! I'll have to pop that one in my wish list on good reads & hope it comes down in a few months. As much as I really want it I'm not paying that grrrrSPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
