Yeah thanks that's why I asked, if it was £3.99 I could maybe consider it but £7.99 no thanks....I'm not a prime member and I can't see myself doing it any time soon....There are certain authors that I like (Hugh Howey being one) that has made a point of joining the scheme, but a lot of the books I want aren't included. Although the Harry Potter series is strangely! Just wondered if anyone had it and found it useful.
Although perhaps asking on MSE I won't get many replies on that as everyone will think it's poor value :p

I can see 2 of HH's that are free anyway and here's the all free list again ;);) for everyone

I have just started (well, re-started, since I never finished it when I first read it last year) A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing by Eimear McBride, and it's absolutely fantastic!

Just wondered, has anyone had any experience with Kindle Unlimited? I had the 30 day trial a year or two ago and at the time there weren't that many books available. But there seems to be a lot more on there now. However, it's £7.99 a month, so not sure how worthwhile that is if the books I want still are not available. If anyone has it, or has had it, did you manage to make much use of it?

I am on a Kindle Unlimited trial as well and cannot seem to find a single book that I fancy reading... I'd say it's not really worth the £7.99!

I have been naughty: I bought Lotus into the Fire at a book swap/sale.

£1 for a true life story and very good so far (not far into it yet).

I finished misery by Stephen King, now reading The Owl Killers by Karen Maitland. Tried to read this one years ago and only managed the first few chapters, found it a few weeks ago so going to reattempt it.

Just delurking to say I have a KU sub and use it a lot. I read a lot in a very niche genre and there is lots of choice on KU within that limited field - I easily make my sub back every single month. Guess it depends what you like

Slips back to lurk mode :)

  • I had bought so many books at somepoint i realized i was not going to actually read all of them and wanted to get some money for them :) Instead of trying to sell them on amazon or at a bookstore my friend told me about Bonavendi.com

Basically it lets you scan all of the books you wanna sell with your phone, and then gives you a price comparison from a bunch of different vendors so you get the most cash for each book. Worked really good for me, hope this helps for anyone looking to sell their books if theyre not gonna read them :)

    Cheers!

Hello all, quick update from me - RL still hectic but making "me time" on my commute at least to read so getting through them at a steady pace.

Finished the Tess Gerritsen then read Rivers of Babylon by Nelson DeMille - took a while to get into but had me gripped by the end! Sad times as I've now read all of his, hurry up August for the next release!

Then I was very naughty a few weeks ago - stumbled across a book sale at the library next to work and picked up 15 books  but cost just £4.85 and all in amazing condition. A mix of crime/thriller and chick lit and all will be rehomed once finished. I have already finished Long Lost by Harlen Coben and Saving Grace by Jane Green which were enjoyable quick reads, and am now onto Summer at Shell Cottage by Lucy Diamond which I'm whizzing through.

Carbootcrazy - I really like Peter James, think I have one or two left of his to read until I am up to date. Enjoy catching up with the series!

Update - I finished A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing at the end of last week, then read The Storyteller by Kate Armstrong (on Kindle Unlimited... Not the best choice, but it was alright.)

I've now started Grow Up by Ben Brooks - another KU pick, which might be cheating since I'm technically not reading the books I already have... After that one though I promise to go through my to-read pile! I have far too many non-fiction books I need to read. :)
