  • Thanks everyone for your views on the Kindle Fire. It sounds really good but considering my Kindle still works I shouldn't really be shopping around for a new tablet or e-reader.

Thanks carbootcrazy. Other than the high fees, it sounds really good. I signed up and started listing things. Already had my first sale so I won't have long to wait to see how it all goes.

  • Third book of the year finished - Walking Home From Mongolia bu Rob Lilwall. It's exactly what the title says, several guys decides to walk from the Gobi desert in Mongolia all the way through China and back to Hong Kong. I'm a sucker for these kinds of books - anyone who walks/swims/cycles ridiculously long distances.

Have you read Mark Beaumont's (the Scot who cycled the world) book? I'd be interested if it's any good as I've met him

I have, actually! I don't remember much other than the fact I read it in a single weekend, so it must have been good.

  • I finished Colm Toibin's Brooklyn (ordered from the mobile library) in the early hours. It's one of those books I just couldn't put down:j. I love his writing style so much. I'm beginning to see some sort of pattern in my reading habits here as most of my favourite books recently have been by Irish writers:rotfl:. Cecelia Aherne, Edna O'Brien and Colm Toibin for starters. I know there's a new film coming out/already released of Brooklyn but I won't be seeing it as I prefer not to see an adaptation of a favourite book;).

I've finally finished Dan Brown's Inferno. In the usual Brown's style...lots of twists and turns! I can't wait for the film to show...I think it's out this year.:D

My next one is a medieval mystery called, The Apothecary Rose by Candace Robb.

There are six books in the series but I only have four. I've had them for ages and want them out of the way.it will be a nightmare for me to read the four, and wanting to read the whole set, but I'm determined not to cave in to buy the other two!:rotfl:

Read Michael morpurgo's Kaspar last night, a children's book but I enjoyed it, it's going to school with me today. To be donated to the oldest class.

Hi, please count me in on this, I've got lot's of books to read & I also pick up free ebooks books from BookBub so I've got plenty to read but find it hard to resist buying books.
At the minute I'm reading Shopaholic to the stars by Sophie Kinsella, I love her books.

Just finished my shopaholic book & passed in on for someone else to read as I'm trying to clear out my house too, I know Ive got books in a box in my bedroom so I dug it out only to find its full of books I want to keep so I've put it back & got one from the bookcase in the boxroom. It's an old ex library book The rough guide to iPods, iTunes & music online, it's proberly outdated but I'm going to take a look at it & then hopefully clear it out, I find it hard to let go of books.
  • Someone recommended Liane Moriarty on here (sorry, I can't remember who it was:o). She's new to me.

I've just been to the mobile library and the only book by her that they had was Big Little Lies so I've borrowed that one.

Will make a start on it tonight:j
