No time to catch up I'm afraid but hope everyone is well.
I read 26/26 - The Last Anniversary by Lianne Moriarty and loved it - absolutely devoured this book. I still have one or two of hers to read and will request for my birthday I think.MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -

I've never read anything by Lianne Moriarty. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll seek her out:T0 -
Completed Soul Music last night, that was a good read. Seemed to be two stories in one and moved along at a nice pace.
I also read my Rivers of London comics, which was also good fun. I don't normally pick up comics, so it was nice to read something which included the pictures to go with the scenes.
About to start Daughter tonight by Jane Shemilt. A different genre to what I'm used to, so I'm a bit excited to get it started.0 -
On Black Friday I got myself a kindle fire - of course just to get the free books and the first thing I did after the set-up was buy a book (as it was £ 10 cheaper than the printed version) I had on my radar for 6 months ....
It's called "Why isn't my brain working" so it's a reference book and doesn't really count, lol. I really enjoy the good doctor's writing style, so let's hope I will learn how to combat my memory issues, lol. Hi.....can I join this please? I have tons on UN-read books and need something like this to stop my buying, even though they are only from charity shops or boot sales.
Happygreen.....I love my kindle fire and have only ever downloaded free book!
Enjoy your kindle fire!Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas and finding time for plenty of reading among the million other calls on our time:beer:
Welcome, FunBrum:hello:
Have received an invitation email from eBay for 100 free listings and only 1p final fees so am currently having a manic rummage through all my books that I know I won't ever read so I can get them listed. I've got to be realistic here as I'm a magpie where books are concerned and I accumulate all sorts of weird and wonderful books, often free because someone is wanting rid, or for pennies at car boot sales:o. I plan to read them 'later' but somehow never get the time or see something that appeals more and the mountain just keeps growing:eek:
Enough's enough! Life's too short and all that;).
Don't go mad buying books, everyone, even if they are at Sale prices;)0 -
I finished Daughter, it was interesting. There are two timelines within the book and you never really know what's going on until the end. It was a good read.
Also read Mike Gayle's The Stag/Hen Party Weekend, one side was the boys and one side was the girls. Read quickly as usual.
Not currently reading any books until Friday when I start a new year with my 2016 reading challenge. I've updated my To Read shelf on GoodReads and I have 49 books left on my list, all being well I should finish that next year. Then I can read more of the books my husband has.
Only one book from Christmas and that was a Shaun in the City trail souvenir book.0 -
I do my own version of this challenge each year.
There's so many books out there, I'm never going to be able to stop buying them, but my aim is to reduce the amount of Kindle books that I have waiting to be read
At the start of the year I had 40 books waiting to be read
I've read 55 books this year
I now have 33 books waiting to be read.
I'll chalk that up as a win!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hi all, could I please join?
I have just counted and have 33 unread books on my kindle, plus 3 new ones that I received for Christmas-Eeek! I think I'm definitely going to be kept busy with this challenge!
I am currently reading Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks.
I may increase my kindle books but only if I can find free ones to download
Thanks

Have finished Christmas With The Laird by Scarlet Wilson. I downloaded it on the kindle as it was free and I fancied some light reading in keeping with the season. Not normally what I read, but was a pleasant book.
Dan Brown's Inferno is next as I've already started reading it, then put it down to read another. Hopefully finish it by the end of the week, then it can go back to my son-in-law. One less book on the shelf!Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T
