My GoodReads Challenge for 2016 is 52 books again, but I'm hoping to smash this total once again.
My to read list is down to 49 books, so I might even get through them this year!0 -
I've set my good reads challenge target as 45 books, I read 48 last year so it about achievable. I can't promise not to buy any but I will try as there a still loads of TBR books in the house so done should go before more arrive.
Still on a Christmas book as I didn't get as much adding done as I'd have liked.SPC~12 ot 124

I'd like to give this challenge a go. I'm also hoping to read 52 books this year. I have a kindle and lots of free books already downloaded onto it but sometimes I just prefer the feel of a proper book so I think I'll have to pop off to the library to get some more, though the books I have lying around the house should keep me busy enough for a while.Money made on etsy in April: £0

First book of the year finished - The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. A quick, though very repetitive read. There were some good tips about decluttering but it was not very money saving. Her mantra is to only keep things that bring you joy and recommends throwing out ratty old clothes for wearing round the house and replacing them with new ones and not keeping things "just in case". She says you're better off getting rid of it and buying it again if it turns out you needed it. She also suggested keeping bookcases and golf clubs in your wardrobe so I don't think we're quite on the same page. It did encourage me to measure my wardrobe though - 3' wide and 5'10".
Currently working on 1927 by Bill Bryson. It's very interesting but a bit drier than some of his other books.Money made on etsy in April: £0

So against anything I believe in . Although I'm all for decluttering, buying the same thing again because I chucked it?? I wear old clothes in the garden until they hang in tatters and then I use them as rags for cleaning! All nice having lovely new things all the time but this also is not environmentally friendly - is the good Marie American, I wonder? Thanks for reading this for me and giving your summary (so I don't have to)!
I've not gone any further on the to read pile but I now have all of my superstar author neighbour's books signed :j. Several have left the house as Christmas presentsI just wish I had time to read them now myself!
