I freaking love Jo Nesbo and urge everyone to read his books. Met him a couple of times and he's a lovely guy too. Right, time to stop fangirling now...
Hi everyone, been a bit absent but have been reading lots still. Have also cleared out my bookshelves of all the books I won't read again; now just need to try and get rid of them!
Currently reading "The Great Perhaps" by Joe Meno and should have it done by the end of the week. Have officially hit my target of 56 books to be read this year but I'm going to try and get through as many as I can in the next 6 weeks. Have about 30 left on the TBR pile and then I can start buying again!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

I stayed up late to finish Counselling for Toads by Robert de Board, a short book based on Wind in the Willows where Toad is depressed and experiences counselling. It was a sweet story and a great insight into transactional analysis. Now Mrs FrugalinShropshire:T Proud to be mortgage and debt free:j0

I just finished 2 from the library.
"Life's Golden Ticket" by the motivational speaker I mentioned last week, Brendon Burchart. He calls it an "inspirational novel", which in a way it is - a very different page-turner from what I read normally.
In the kitchen I had "Bertie's Guide to Life and Mothers" by Alexander McCallSmith. I enjoyed all of his Scotland based books but I don't have to own them!
Next will be one I had started earlier from the beside table pile, will keep you posted on what I decide.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

hi folks :coffee:
we've had a quiet weekend, as we had to postpone garden tidying because of all the wet weather. therefore I have got a fair bit of reading done:
#56/60 The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher 5/5 - this is a comfort re-read for me
#57/60 The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer 5/5 - I cannot believe this is a debut novel. it's such a touching story of mental illness and written with such command of intertwining narratives. greatly enjoyed.
i'm now reading Dissolution by C.J. Sansom. I've read this one before a while back, but i'm re-reading it to remind myself before I move onto the other 4 I have in the series...in a teetering pile at the foot of the bookcases in the dining room
finishing #56 up there saw me pass my goal of reading 15,000 pages this year too (to avoid the temptation to pick up short or children's books to meet my 60 target!), so am pleased about that.
hope everyone's well!
pip pip

The only list I have is with the library's on-line catalogue, lol. I even had to restrain myself with the reserving service as I can't keep up in the kitchen with all the new stuff on audio....
2015 will be year 4 of "no new books" - that includes cast-offs from friends (or "read-this-then-return-it-to-mes") until all others are shelved or gone. It's interesting as this year I have failed only twice, one for a cookery book and another at a charity sale as I had wanted that book for years - and guess what, I have still not read it!. If I'm really honest, I won't have to buy any books for the rest of my life....EVER (and I just found a bag of Terry Pratchet's paperbacks in the shed - are they any good?) I am also stunned to see that DD2 is turning out to be a 16-year old mirror-me! She collects books :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
