I use to be a teacher and found that I only had time to read during the school holidays. I have recently changed jobs (still linked to education) and even though I will no longer have the holidays, I now have time to read and do other hobbies like Tai Chi, in the week, after work.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

I haven't told you yet - as I'm so tired at night I don't get through many of my bibliophile hoard from an earlier life but the library has so many new books I would read now on cds that I can spend the time in the kitchen cooking and washing up in a much more fun way - a book a week! I found a gem which made me cook, bake and clean the kitchen, it's "A tale for the time being" by Ruth Oneki, it was shortlisted for the Booker last year. I just bought a printed beautiful hardback copy for my daughter's 16th, she wants to do Japanese studies and loves good books. I so hope she will like it!First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

Most things are due in this week - reports, pupil progress meetings and class assembly all fall on Friday. Add into that that I'm also looking for a new job it's a bit crazy! Roll on the weekend!! I've been snoozing again on the bus this week so I've only read 10 pages of Little Women so far!NSDs January - 3/8 2017 total - 3

Hello, can I join this thread please...I have a mid size pile of books to be read which I would to make a dent in before buying more. not too sure how many are in it...will try and have a count tomorrow.
I've just started reading Zadie Smith On Beauty, a book that was fished out of a bag for destined for a CS at my parents.
As well as the physical pile, I have a number of free classics (on my phone as opposed to a kindle) which i'm slowly making my way through, the latest of these is The Wind in the Willows.

i was a bit naughty at the school fete last weekend 8 books came home with me from the brik-a-brak stall and i bought a couple at the carboot.
i did give away a knitting book id bought but wont use
the book im read how to be a woman has lots of really rude stuff in and some is written larger and in bold so you have to be really careful where you read it as it would be really embarrassing if anyone looked over your shoulder.SPC~12 ot 124

So today I looked through my bookshelves and i've reaslised things are not as bad as I had feared....24 unread books with a further 6 free classics on my mobile phone.
I do struggle as i'm a slowish reader and live a 10 min walk from a fantastic independent book shop (becoming quite rare these days) and at 5 charity shops...temptation at every turn!
