Ohhhh a book blog sounds like such a good idea; although I would become a bigger hermit :)

The Cuckoo's Calling I really want to read. I have decided to write a list of books that I'm only allowed to buy if on special offer... at least half price :) Spotted the Casual Vacancy (I think) on a friends pile of books to read so hoping to do a bit of swapping.

I've located my kindle and charger so waiting to see what delights await me - although I was reading 5 books a week whilst off work before Christmas so I may need a top up (after I read the ones listed and left on kindle). I haven't heard of the majority of your books though; any recommendations? I like trying new authors as I find some tend to write too similar......

Golly, I have never come across anyone else who has read Lisa Gardner.... so all my reader friends got one of her books last Christmas :) Could you let me know how Touch & Go is please; it's one of the books I was really wanting to buy last week. It can be my treat when I've read the pile next to my bed

Only read one JP - Tenth Circle I think it was called - remember drawings; comic strip maybe?

I managed to get my mum into her too as I love being able to talk to someone after I've read something. I'll let you know how I get on with it!

just finished After you'd gone by Maggie O'Farrell , up until last night it was just ok but i reached a point that made it unputdownable so was up at 6am this morning with it. feel sort of deflated when i finish a really good book as its come to an end. the main character had such a sad and troubled time.. Its one of those start at the end and back track to explain and fill the gaps books but really was emotional and definitely worth a read. took a bit of getting used to the fact that it switched timelines and characters from one paragraph to another but aside from that i really enjoyed it and i think that helped keep the suspense and only feed you enough of the story at a time without giving the ending away

I loved that book. I remember feeling so sad after I had finished it as I would never be able to read it again and not know what would happen!

Had a Kindle fire bought for my birthday. Have had a quick look to see if there were any free books that took my fancy and pleased to say there weren't any. In a way it's a good thing as it means I can get on with getting through the mountain of paper books I have to read first!

  • I have bought a book...though it is one I already had planned to buy, I just hadn't expected it to be out so soon. My friend from uni has written a second book called Letting Go Of Emma hope it's as good as her first!

  • After some consideration I've decided to stay away from the library for a wee while, just until I've made a small dent in my to-read pile. Just finished me & you on my kindle so next is a tree book from my collection. Hopefully this system will see my pile reduce.
