Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Read 'How I lived on a pound a day for a year' by Kath Kelly. Interesting read but not much in it for me. Think as a single person or as a couple it's got some good stuff but not really for a family.

I finished "Garden Spells" which was very enjoyable if a bit predictable (tho I do like some predictability in my books!). I have now started "Robopocalypse" by Daniel H Wilson. I was lent this one and I am really enjoying it. It is written in the same way as "World War Z" but this one is about a war between robots and humans. It is told from the points of view of certain key people in the war in chronological order. I'm about half way through and can't wait to see what happens (I don't think I'll ever get in another lift though!!)

Note to self. I DO NOT NEED TO ORDER OFF THE NEW BOOK PEOPLE BROCHURE. No really I don't but I'm so tempted. Finished the Mitch Albom one now reading Message in a bottle. I'm off to the free book shop tomorrow to see what it's like it's a bit of a trek for me into the city so will check out the library when I'm there too

I've already placed my order - the new Phillipa Gregory for only £4.99 was too tempting. Plus I had a day out in London yesterday and couldn't resist browsing the second hand bookshops on Charing Cross Road. Managed to stop as 2 favourites to re read ( Robert Graves Claudius the God and J G Farrell Singapore Grip). Got 2 piles on the dining room table now waiting to be read!

  • The free book shop was Amazing. Not at all what I was expecting there was a huge selection of good quality books. I had an Erica James one and an Anita Shreve sorry I can't remember the titles and 6 books for the children. Don't think I'll need to buy another book ever again. If you haven't already done so I'd recommend having a look at the healthy planet website to see if there is one near you.

The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson - I read that in one go on a rainy day a couple of years back - very good but quite odd! I leant it to a friend who came back to me a couple of months later asking me why on earth I'd given it to her! I liked it though.

ooh odd eh? odd is my life :D looking forward to it now.

i have been given a book by a work colleague to add to my pile:

A Tiny Bit Marvellous by Dawn French

although this doesn't help my groaning shelves i don't feel guilty as it's free :D

Think you've got a bargain there Bumma - mentioned it to my mum who's a huge PG fan and she asked me to buy on kindle for her - £8.55  - but its the only way she can read now as her eyesight is pretty bad so she doesn't mind paying for books she wants once in a while (I've bought pretty much all the other books on the kindle account and we like lots of the same stuff).
Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos
