Finished "Don't Let me go" by Catherine Ryan Hyde today. Excellent read tho sad in places.

I have been leant a book called Robopocalypse which is apparently very good so I'm not sure whether to start that or read Numbers which I have borrowed off the library.

Finished Gone girl. Have to say I was gripped by this book couldn't put it down. What a twisted couple. The wife was well disturbed. Reading another by Gillian Flynn called Sharp objects.

Why haven't I found this thread before?

    Confession time (sins of commission):
Over the 8 days of 23 to 30 June I bought 9 new books. One as a present for OH's birthday; two biographies (Lloyd George and John Donne); one autobiograph (Karen Armstrong); one cookery book and one about Japanese diet (and I've already got a bookcase in the kitchen which is overflowing); one on calculus (to re-visit 'O' level territory); and 2 novels.

    Plus side:
Have recently finished reading a number of books which had been by my bedside, partially read, for some time. However (sins of omission) they are still in the house.
There's a cookery book waiting by the front door ready to go to a CS the next time I go out shopping. (It's leaving the house because I had two copies.)

The novel I'm currenly reading is Donna Leon's Death in a Strange Country. Will finish that today. It will then go back to sit with the other Guido Brunetti stories, only one of which I have already read. I would, however, recommend these to anyone who likes police detective stories and has not already discovered them.

Welcome anamenottaken this is a fab thread lots of friendly people. I have another confession I picked up Alice Sebolds The almost moon. The Gentleman in the charitg shop only asked for 50 pence for that and a lovely brand new notebook set so I gave him a pound. Now I'm home I've looked on goodreads and the reviews aren't good it may be going straight back.

I finished Dusty Warriors and havent picked up a fresh tree book yet, but am thinking about either one of the Vampire Diaries books or another military related one.

I love this thread. I'm having to trawl charity shops for new reads ( or use Book People when they have free p&p offers!). I do try my local Library for new titles but all too often when I reserve them they still don't have them in stock. Just read a tatty copy of Wolf Hall that cost me 50p, and about to try ( for the 3rd time) The Good Wife by Curtis Sittenfield which everyone raves about but I've started it a couple of times and lost interest! Wish me luck this time
