curently reading home truths by freya north and love and dr devon by alan titchmarsh. the alan titchmarsh one doent count its off the drs shelf. but i did take over by margaret forster down there and donated that so ive not added any.
I'm on goodreads too, as cactuspotty. On there practically every day! It's great for keeping track of what you've read, what you thought of each book, and also great for putting in order what you want to read next!0 -
I finally finished A Dance with Dragons, I couldn't string it out any longer! What a cliff hanger! Overall I really enjoyed it, it was much better that book 4 and much much better than some reviews suggested. I really hope he doesn't take another 6 years to bring out The Winds of Winter!
Next on my pile is Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. I've had it for ages but always been put off by the 1006 pages "It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015

Hi all,
I went away on holiday for a week and brought two self-help/alternative thinking books with me in order to realise the meaning of life etc. while I was away. However, thanks to a particularly stressful time just before I went, they were the last things I needed to be reading really, so I found myself nipping into a charity shop and coming out with the following:
Celebrities My !!!! by Ricky Tomlinson
The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory
McCarthy’s Bar by Mick McCarthy
The Height of Nonsense by Paul Clements
I read the Celebrities and Boelyn book, but still have to read the other two. I also managed to read How to Mind Map by Tony Buzan while I was away, and since I came back I bought Gok Cooks Chinese by Gok Wan which is VERY NAUGHTY as it is yet another cookbook, but also very necessary as I blummin’ love Chinese food and don’t know how to cook much of it, so this seemed to be the answer to my prayers (will let you know how it goes!)
Am currently in the middle of reading three other books. I’ll let you know as soon as they are finished.
After a shaky, busy start to the year, I seem to have got my reading mojo back! (Well, that and my time isn’t taken up with college all the time so I have time to read things other than college textbooks.)

Also, I've just listened to the audiobook 'Look Out, Secret Seven' as a result of going a bit mad in the library the other day in the audiobook section. It brought me back to my youth, as an avid fan of Enid Blyton, and also back to Going Live as Sarah Green read it!
I will decline to rate this out of acknowledgement that I am old enough to know better, but it was still a fun walk down memory lane. Please call me 'Pickle'

Oh I loved Enid Blyton, the Famous Five were my favourites!
I bought myself a book in the Charity Shop this morning, World War Z which another member recommended on here, was quite chuffed as I can now take it off my Amazon wish list and it was a lot cheaper!Nov NSD: 8/7 Dec NSD: 1/10Sealed pot member #1443 2011: £106. 2012: £171Ninjakat challenge: Aim to clear two debts by April 2013100 day challenge: No toiletries or magazines 19/100 (3 x fails)
