Finished Double Comfort Safari Club, found it an easy read because of its style but not really my thing, couldnt really see why Alexander McCall Smith is raved about so much. But I have another of his in my to read pile as I bought them as a double pack from poundland ages ago. Think I might go for one of the books I won earlier in the year next so either An American Spy or The Dead Season as they're hardbacks cluttering up my bedside table. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I've had a reading fest lately and have read:
Fifty Shades of Grey
Jade (autobiography)
Alison Lapper 'my life in my hands' (autobiography)
Husabnds by Adele Park
and currently halfway through the new Peter James book.
Thoroughly enjoyed all of the books, although not sure if i'll bother with the rest of the Fifty Shades triology as I found the main character a bit of an ar*e !!Nov NSD: 8/7 Dec NSD: 1/10Sealed pot member #1443 2011: £106. 2012: £171Ninjakat challenge: Aim to clear two debts by April 2013100 day challenge: No toiletries or magazines 19/100 (3 x fails)

I allow myself unlimited Free books from Amazon preferably books of quality.
Kindle is my undoing as I have a total of over 200+ books to read in addition to my TBR piles which are demanding Hard Copy.
I am really taking to Kindle book buying which is so much easier and less bulky than hard copy whatever it's merits.
I hate Amazon's exploiting of customers via Kindle Platform and general arseholeness but love the e book format.
Currently reading: She Wolveshttp://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10599157-she-wolves a fascinating account of how WOMEN got to sit on the Throne of England despite blocking from me.
and http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7170627-the-emperor-of-all-maladies a searing account so far of the history of Cancer and how it gets treated, very educational, highly enlightening and jolly interesting.

Like Julian Barnes says he has learned to live FROM books instead I may add from TV, from sensationalist media and so he keeps fresh.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

I have 37 to read.
2 biographies
1 factual about Jerusalem
4 (soon to be 6) theology/spiritual
1 lit crit and 1 word origins.
The rest are fiction.
I have a very long wishlist on Amazon but I really want to read all of mine so I never have more than 4-5 unread books. So I only get what I want to read. The hard thing at the moment is resisting Kindle daily deals and items on my wishlist that I see at car boot sales.
It will be nice to be free again to buy or borrow something to read then rather than having to put it off due to my reading pile. (which is down the side of my sofa.)
I'm trying to read my way through by the end of the year but I've only read 20 so far. Some left are huge. Some of my books have been unread in my posession for a long time. (years)0 -
I listened to a book (how modern)! 'Eat That Frog' by Brian Tracy. I borrowed it from the library (so as not to accumulate more books - very :money:) and they only had it in audiobook format, so I borrowed that, and it was useful for listening to it in 15 minute chunks between home and work in the car. It could be a good way of getting through more books...if only the library stocked more titles in audio format that interest me!
Review: It's a book on how to deal with procrasination. Some of the tips are good, other are a bit old-hat if you have read any other self-help/'how not to procrasinate' books. I personally found 'The Now Habit' more useful, but it will be one of those horses for courses things for most people, I think.
If you are struggling to use your time effectively, it might not be a bad read for you.
Now onto 'The Power' (what is it with me and self-help books recently?!)Please call me 'Pickle'

Took some books back to the library at the weekend and picked up some new ones - never going to get to the bottom of my to-read pile at this rate but at least I'm not spending money!!
I got "Inkheart", "Full Dark, No Stars", "Between Mom and Jo" and "Heist Society"
I have also ordered "Iboy" to come into the library - this would usually cost money but because it was supposed to be in the library I went to anyway they are getting it in for free for me!No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.

I have to say book 4 was my least favourite but book 5 is better again, in case you've been put off by any reviews!blindtoast wrote: »Took some books back to the library at the weekend and picked up some new ones - never going to get to the bottom of my to-read pile at this rate but at least I'm not spending money!!

I really enjoyed Inkheart, but I shouldn't bother with the film!
I'm still reading A Dance with Dragons part 2. I'm trying to make it last as long as possible because heaven only knows when book 6 will be out! I'm also listening to The Once and Future King (aka sword in the stone) from audible as part of 1001 books and I'm really enjoying it. I've still got nearly 30hrs to go though!!!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living."
