I'm going to join you too if thats ok :) I have a cupboard full of books that never get touched because I keep getting the latest releases from the library. I would really like to claim the space back though so have just started White Wedding by Milly Johnson.

You too! :D A good night for newbies! :D If you haven't got a squishy chair, there are some spare ones over there *points to corner of thread* and a lady comes round with a tea trolley and cakes several times a day if you fancy something to eat or drink.

See you soon and enjoy!

Not so much a reading thing but I discovered this morning that the ex has left me two copies of one book, one is an autographed hardcover the other a paperback so have listed the paperback version on greenmet whilst I was listing a few other books.

Am about 50 pages from the end of Wonderboys, its been an interesting read, not quite sure what I make of it though, still its one more off the to read pile on my bedside table - the bloke I've been seeing lately thinks the 'mountain' of books are rather scary and he's glad he knows I'm really only looking at the pictures....:rotfl:Bless him.

  • My first book that I'm going to try and *finish* (started it ages ago) is Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. It's one of those free classics that you can get on your kindle/iBooks. I guess I'm having a hard time finishing it because the storyline doesn't grab me (adventures of a young boy, running off pretending to be a pirate etc), but the writing is fantastic, and Twain had a brilliant grasp of human nature.

Oops! Didn't get to sleep until rather late last night! Just couldn't put my book down...until I realised it was half 2! I finished the second Hunger Games book as I only had a few pages to read, then couldn't wait to find out what happened next! Had to force myself to put it away and go to sleep!

Haven't been on in ages, I'm not getting through my 'to read' pile as quickly as I wanted as I've joined the summer reading challenge at my local library. 6 books in 6 weeks, it runs alongside the childrens one which my 3 year old is currently doing. The only problem is i'm borrowing books and my own pile is sadly neglected.

I'm 2 weeks in and just about to start my 4th book so hopefully my own book mountain will start to decrease soon enough although i've been trying out new authors and they are now added to my ever growing wish list!

Sorry for the long post, off now to updated my goodreads account xx

Although I'm not doing a challenge my to read pile has suffered a lot since joining the library - though at least I'm not spending money! I might try and alternate books soon - read one from the library and then one from my to read pile.

  • Finished the 3rd Gallagher Girls book at the weekend (just in time since it's been reserved from the library and it's due back Weds!) Really enjoyed it - one of the best so far I think.

Have got the 4th one ready to read now

Finished 'The Leopard' by Jo Nesbo and can't wait for October when The Phantom comes out in paperback (if it's a series of books, it has to match on my shelf!)

Read 'Pandemonium' by Lauren Oliver over the weekend. Was ok, could see the ending a mile off though which took some of the enjoyment out of the book for me. If anyone has read the Delirium series (thus far) and the Matched series by Ally Condie, how similar are they?!?! It's practically the same story with a few changes...

On to 'The Sense of an Ending' which I shall probably finish tonight!

I just finished an audiobook: Let It Bleed by Ian Rankin.

I have read this book, but couldn't resist having someone read it to me in a proper Scottish accent!

Have now moved on to listening to One for My Baby by Tony Parsons. So far, so good...reminds me of my time travelling...am reading about 5 books at once, too. (I'll finish them all in the end!)
