    Hi everyone,
Well I havent been on for ages, but I've been lurking
    Finished a couple lately:
    The Falls by Ian Rankin
A Conspiracy of Friends by Alexander McCall Smith
    both very enjoyable.
    Currently reading:
At Home With the Templetons Monica McInerney
These were all from the library so no spends!

I have a confession to make-
I finally bit the bullet and ruthlessly edited my "to-read" pile. This was brought on when a pile of books fell on my head when I opened the wardrobe yesterday.
The result was four big bags of books donated to the BHF shop.
I feel a great sense of relief that I dont have to face that huge pile of books gathered over a long period of time and not read. My to-read pile is now @12 so that's doable!
I have resolved to restrict my reading to books from the library wherever possible - which I've been doing for ages anyway and only buying them when I REALLY cant avoid it.
That said, I was reading Sue Maggie's post about the kindle and although I've resisted until now, I can see the advantages of it in terms of space saving................hmm.........Santa???;)

Well done, Jinty - and for being so good, if you are very nice between now and then, Santa might well bring you a Kindle! ;)

Finished Queen of New Beginnings, quite enjoyed it but not enough to put it back on the shelf so have put it in the pile which I need to sit and list on GM and possibly amazon. :D
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Managed to get my unreads DOWN!! Not by reading but by honestly appraising my bookshelf and admitting which ones I probably won't ever read - a lot are ones I've been given but am too polite to say, "That's not really my kind of thing.." in case people stop giving me books at all!! :p

Gave about a shelf full to the Scope charity when they came with a van to collect a load of clothes (mine and the children's) and some old toys etc....

The only thing is... there's now space on the bookshelf for more!!! NOOOOOO!

Have just finished Sing you Home by Jodi Picout - really enjoyed it, good moral dilemma that has you thinking long after you've finished it. I do like Picoult but she can be a bit hit and miss I find - some books I've LOVED and others... have left me a bit... meh.

Have just started The Midwife's Confession and it's seeming good so far.

Need to buy another one in, though am going to try Amazon etc.. for a cheaper copy - it's a psychology one, I have some "issues" (hate that word!) that I need to address and someone from this site recommended it to me a good while ago but I haven't had chance to look for it. As these "issues" are surfacing more and more these days I really need to read the book and see if it will help me move on.

Anyhow, glad to see everyone is still reading and making space for more!!

    Take care y'all!

Well done Sessie. I did that last week with my pile ( see previous post) and I can tell you the relief I feel after getting rid of the big guilt trip everytime I went into the cupboard is fantastic!

I agree, some of her books are really gripping and others very ordinary

    Just as bad as "closure"IMO!

Currently reading Leaving the World by Douglas Kennedy from my (now) much diminished to-read pile. The first 150pages were a bit slow, but I stuck with it and it's very good indeed!
