    PicklePud!

If you think it would help to motivate you, then do it! Different strokes work for different folks. I've tried to set myself a target of reading 25 books this calender year. (That's the only restriction, though). I haven't quite got there, but I've got a lot, lot further than I ever would have done had I not set the challenge. If making the list makes you realise what you've got, then gives you the motivation to start, and gives you a sense of satisfaction when you strike one off, then do it! :T (And with two bookshelves full, that's going to be a cracking list! ;))

  • I'm certainly glad I did my list. I didn't realise just how many I had that were unread. It's also enabled me to sort out those that I'm never going to read, though it's going to take willpower to get rid of them because I just don't do giving books away.

I also found a few duplicate titles, and this has left a few spaces in my bookcases. Mmmmmmmm.

NO NO NO, don't even think about it !:rotfl:

Pickle, I reackon that if I only read 25 books this year, even after disposing of some, I should be good for at least 10 years. Not sure I can go that long without giving in to temptation, so I'll just have to read faster !:)

Brilliant thread! :) I'm currently reading The Spear by James Herbert. I have almost all his books, he's brilliant!

I don't actually know how many I own, something small like 100, perhaps less but for me that is too much! Last summer I bought around 5 Stephen King books (for something like £10 brand new) and I've not read any of them since

  • Guys I need a bit of help!!

My SIL is getting a Kimble for Xmas and wants some funds to get some books! Although I like to think I am a modern gal, to me books are something made of paper to be curled up with, lounged in the bath with and traded with friends and charity shops!! Anyway rant over - I was thinking probably Amazon vouchers, but is there anywhere better for purchasing downloads for the evil thing???

I do that too, and if I fancy anything I make a note of the book then order it from the library!

I could be wrong, but are Kimbles not exclusively from Amazon, therefore the downloads would need to to be bought from there? Sorry if I'm totally wrong here.:o
I have to say - I'm in total agreement with your views re books. I love the whole tactile thing with a book, to me a kimble is totally soul-less . I can see the benefits if you a re going on a flight and you done want to heave six books in your case, but I still wouldnt buy one!

Currently reading "Started Early, Took my Dog" by Kate Atkinson,it's brilliant! ( from the library)
