Did anybody watch Panaorama last week?

Apparantly follow on milk is all a big gimic! Yes it does contain a lot more iron than cows milk but the extra iron is not needed if the baby has a healthy diet. Cows milk is much healthier in these circumstances.
If you notice on the c&g ad with the GIANT cup of milk it says in small print "milk is not a good source of iron" AKA we're trying to trick you into buying our product
    The NHS say this:
    Follow-on milks
Follow-on milks are suitable for babies from the age of six months onwards, who are on solids. They are designed to bridge the gap between infant formula and ordinary cow’s milk. You should not give your baby cow’s milk before they are one year of age because very young babies are unable to digest the protein that it contains.
If your baby is enjoying breast milk, or formula milk, it is not necessary to switch to follow-on milks. Although follow-on milks contain an increased amount of iron, the Department of Health has stated that only 3-4 per cent can be absorbed by a baby, and once you introduce solid food into your baby’s diet (usually at around six months of age), they should be able to get enough iron and nutrients from other food sources

I don't know if anyone else has posted this but Aptimal stage 1 + 2 is £7.90 in Boots and Superdrug [maybe a few pence difference] I did notice that other brands were 70-80p cheaper.

    Hi,

Just checked, and Boots have now put Aptimil up to £8.49 which is the same as Tesco and Sainsburys I think. Asda still have it on their website at £7.90, so definitely going there today with a big trolley!!

Also, Costco have SMA cheaper than the shops, but I am not sure if VAT still has to be added. Is it classed as a food product where no VAT would be added? Last time I checked, it was £6.99 in Costco as opposed to £7.25 in Tesco and dearer again in Mothercare. Prices might have gone up if they have across the board, but I assume it would still be cheaper (dependent on VAT). It was only SMA that they stocked.

    Cheers!

it would say on the price label in costco, it there is only one price it's VAT free, it has the inc VAT price in smaller print where appropriate.

Don't forget mysupermarket.com will compare asda, tesco, sainsburys and ocado's prices for you

asda still £7.90 so it would seem that £8.49 is the new price and ASDA as yet havent put it up. just been and got some now while its still cheap.
