I didn't have any change and didnt want to break into my last fiver, so I sneaked it out of their money boxes. I may also, on occasion, use their money to pay the window cleaner or milkman and forget to replace it.................
    Now you're talking!:D
However, you haven't truly reached bad Mummy status until you actually dip into their money boxes/ pigs for tooth fairy money.
Have done it with all of mine and they didn't realise until I confessed.

Is it bad that my DS 'sneaked' outside in just a nappy and sat on the path in the pouring rain?

He seemed to be enjoying himself...
Not bad at all! In fact myself and youngest child love nothing more than being outside in pouring rain, even a little bit of thunder and lightening. There are no rules. Seriously if you and kids are happy then who the hell cares? Life is for living and enjoying, not for following what experts say.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Didnt breast feed DD...
Only fed her the baby foods she liked, didnt force veg on her...
Used to let her watch supermarket sweep with Dale Winton as a child to do some housework!!
Sent her and friend upstairs to play, they coloured in the walls and flooded the bathroom cos we ignored/left them too long...
Frequently ignored her while reading a book while she yelled 'Mum', 'Mum', 'MUM' at me lol
Let her read gory murder mysteries from age 9...
Have banned her from having an iphone - even if she buys it herself (now 18 years old amazingly she survived)

I've just read through a few pages of this and have to confess to being a bad dad!!
I have 2 kids. DD is 9, and DS is 7

    I:
Let them both stay up as late as they want when they come to my house.
They can eat what they like.
I sometimes let them drink Coke
I've had them both try lager, DD didnt like it, but DS did, he always nicks mine if ive opened it and left it unattended lol
They both have laptops and TV's
DS has a PS3, and plays Grand Theft Auto, among other games
I'll let them get up when they want, and if I'm still in bed they do as they please
    They both have mobiles
They go out to play til it gets dark
List could go on but its making me wonder if I really am a bad dad :(
Rick, please do not worry about being a bad Dad. If you love your kids and they are reasonably healthy then you are a good Dad.
This is what this thread is about. We have all rejected the rules and are just loving our children and getting on with it!
All I can say is if your kids have PS3 and laptops etc, then join in with them, I have always took an interest in my kids interests , power rangers, karate, wrestling [yes my 2 oldest are boys] and they are happy for it. Playing out is excellent for kids [but again keep a general eye on them].
PS. Myself and ex [children's dad] are seperated. Honestly all I care about is that he makes an effort and children know he loves them. He doesn't have to do everything the way I do it, I just want them to have a warm loving relationship. I'm not a perfect parent either but I think between us our children know they are loved.

Hello Rickhoughton, this should really be "the bad parent thread", are we being sexiest :p. Its great to see a man joining in. As far as coke is concerned - I am guilty m'lud. The only way we can get DS to take his long term medicine is via coke! The only other option is a supository ( I don't think so!) His teeth are "perfect" and he is very healthy aside his medical problems - so don't sweat the small stuff.

How very 1980's...where underage drinking was done at home when dads beer was left unattended..:rotfl:

My granddad used to give me half a cup of cider with my sunday lunch from the age of 7, and funnily never turned in to a big drinker, sometimes i wonder if sheltering kids from alcohol till they are 18 is a good idea.

Drove a 2 hour car journey with the kids and failed to click that 'Best of Pantera' was the choice of CD.

Oh no my worst fears have been realised and I too am a bad mum.

MY youngest (4) gets up at the crack of dawn and proceeds to go through all the cupboards eating anything he likes - the other day I got up and he'd ate 2 chocolate pancackes, a choclate cake bar, a banana, 2 frube yogs, a packet of quavers and had drank 2 cartons of pack lunch size juice.

I swear that boy is a ninja he can get out of bed ( even out of our bed yes I do let him share our bed!) and go down stairs with out making any sound at all.

My DD (7) on the other hand will stay up till 12.30 reading books if she can get away with it (have caught her on a school night with a torch) and then when it's holiday time dosen't get out of bed till at least 10!!
