I agree. In fact I don't know how I ever managed to raise 3 children without the expertise of emweaver to refer to.:D
oh please common sense is all it is its stupidity allowing your toddler to run around a bumpy field with a newborn in their dolls pram, well actually neglect. leaving a sharp tin on the side for them to cut themselves too is stupidity. im surprised social services havent got involved.
i am not after attention but it seems the rest of you are as you are very quick to judge and criticise me for using my common senseWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

Perhaps you should try it sometimes and stop being so serious.
But thanks for the tip about common sense. I didn't know that. Gosh, it must be a miracle my children survived!
Now just for you, here are some more.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

*sigh* Not sure why I am being singled but it was all a very long time ago - my kids have only visited A&E 5 times in total which is pretty good going for 3 energetic boys spanning 20+ years I think. and their doctor's surgery has only seen them for their routine jabs which is pretty good. They've never broken any bones. They have rarely been ill - not even colds or coughs.
DS1 - cut his chin open jumping over a bench at SCHOOL when he was 7
DS2 - Concussion twice - once at SCHOOL and once when he was 15 and fell off his BMX
DS2 - had to have his appendix out at 18 (I suppose that's due to me neglecting him)
DS3 - the imfamous pineapple tin incident
My boys have done really well at school/college/Uni/work, are popular and sociable, their mates love our house. They have been prefects and DS1 was in the running for head boy. They have represented their school/county at athletics, hockey, rugby and football. Been abroad with school and with their friends. I have been an involved parent since they first went to Mums & Toddlers, later regularly helping out in class and on the PTA for 13 years!! I am a whizz at costumes, cakes, face-painting, parties, art projects. They have always been clean, well-fed, cuddled, sang and read to. DS3 was only 2 when we started reading the Harry Potters and at 5 was going into school to tell them what had happened in the latest chapter of the 'Northern Lights' - Phillip Pullman. They know how to cook, clean and iron.
Do they sound like neglected children that needed the intervention of Social Services?? I don't think I've failed them and neither does anyone else that knows us.
I suggest you go and involve yourself with your own child instead of sitting them infront of the TV whilst you come on the PC to criticise my (and others) parenting skills.Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

Well see, now I've been forced to defend myself as a 'good mummy' which is not the point of this thread at all.
However, I will add that I think I've done a damn good job given that we live in a deprived area and a good proportion of their peers are either well known to the police, teenage parents or drug users (or all three in a couple of cases)Over futile odds

Oh dear, so that's where I'm going wrong then. Son came home yesterday clutching a letter from his teacher saying that he'd been put into the "red book" three times this week and had been given "time out" due to his "rude and disruptive" behaviour. Not my sweet innocent little boy, surely? :rotfl: Guess I should be reading and singing to him a bit more often, and I really should do something about that crispy school jumper...
That'll be because you let him watch tv
It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad for little minds...........apparentlyFuture Mrs Gerard Butler

I just scrubbed DD5's art work away with the floor cloth... it was on her leg....
And we washed her face (it was covered in chocolate icing from the bun she had after dinner last night) with her own spit in the car on the way to school.. 5 minutes walk away...

I am forever waiting for Biro drawings to fade from DD1's knees... What's that all about?!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... cif and a good scrub gets rid of them!
However, Moomin was permanently coloured in with permanent marker.. I don't even know where she got most of them from.. that wouldn't come off for love nor money! She went to nursery with perpetual circles around her nipples, button and knees... and her finger nails coloured in too!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
