The Bad Mummies Thread

Took DS to the foot clinic today about his flat feet and he was given some exercises to do. One involves him standing on one leg on tip-toe and throwing a ball against the wall. I've told him he is allowed to do this in his bedroom as a 'special treat'. Really it's because I don't want him to say he isn't doing them cos outside it's cold, windy, frosty, the cars are in the way etc or risk having my conservatory windows put thru.:shhh:0

Anyway when he was 2 weeks overdue they insisted that I go and be induced and off me and dh went to the hospital with everything packed. It took a few ours for the induction to work, but my god when it started it started. My dh helpfully stuck the tens to my back and I switched it on...it seemed to be working for a while (about half an hour) but then I wasnt sure if the pains were getting stronger or the batteries where running out , I had the thing set on full... Dh husband dutifully changed the batteries , switched it back on, and the resulting shock was so powerful I was nearly shot out of the ward window I was stood by:rotfl:Ds decided he wasnt going to put up with any of that carp and decided he was coming out. I was wheeled at haste to the delivery room whilst screaching for drugs. The midwife wasnt convinced ,so it appeared ,that baby was coming and decided to exit the room...just as ds was entering. My dh called her back just in time:eek:
My friend bought me a TENS machine and I had it on for a wee while but after a while when things had started to get really bad, I demanded OH remove it!
I went to go for a pee and came back and asked for a MW to go and get my MW...I told her that the baby was coming and she said she'd check. Just then a gush of water came out and she said, oh, is that the waters breaking, I said no...I've just P*ssed myself! She threw me onto a wheelchair and started runing with me standing up on this chair with my leg folded over the other one trying to keep him in, she was a big woman so it must have been some sight for anyone unfortunate to see it! :rotfl:
There was another MW holding a door open who said to OH, you'd better hurry up, he just sauntered past her and said..I don't do running! :rotfl:
DS was born just as I got onto the bed. They said it was SVD so I asked afterwards for the morphine that I'd missed out on :rotfl:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Haven't read whole thread but wanted to say I'm a bad mummy too.
1.FF both mine. Did try BF DS but gave up after 2 days. Didn't bothering trying with DD, straight on to FF
2. Used disposables & wipes.
3. Both had dummies from day 1.
4. Used cot bumpers & they slept on tummies.
5. Did not instantly pick them up if crying.
6. Gave DS pure fruit juice (undiluted) at 6 months. In my defence we were on a journey to my sisters that was taking forever & had already used prepared bottles. Never a fan of water so bought juice at services & poured it into clean bottle. Dropped him off at sisters & then me & DH went for a wondeful night away for anniversay. Sister none to happy on our return - juice had obviously upset him & she had had a terrible night trying to settle him.
I'm sure there must be lots of others but too long ago to remember!0 -

Bad Mummy because- I BF both my daughters for a very long time (don't ask) because I couldn't be a**ed to do a bottle. Used to co sleep because surprisingly a very young baby can find your breast if you sleep topless. Never have to wake up. However the shoulder pain you get from sleeping with a baby and instinctivly not moving is very painful. Also waking up and the baby's head smells of BO because she has been nestled in your armpit.
DITTO!! It's soo funny that people think I'm a real 'earth mother' cos I BF so long, but actually just can't be a***d making up bottles!
Unfortunately am also a bad mother for many, many of the reasons listed on here, but am most proud (?) of....
my children do not get bathed every day (every week if they're lucky!)
dirt is not banned from my house
DD2 wears nothing but hand me downs (excluding pants), can't believe no. 3 is a boy and will have to have new clothes - though I have been known to dress him in pink vests and sleepsuits
7 yr old dd makes me breakfast in bed on a Sunday (not old enough to make tea yet unfortunately)
however am not proud that....
missed DD1 had ear infection until her eardrum burst and loads of gunk came pouring out
DD1 also has cavities from too many sweeties and not enough tooth brushing
once caught dd2 eating the cats food (yeurgh!!!) didn't seem to do her any harm though0 -
Yet more evidence....
my DS returned from school yesterday with a hole in the knee of his trousers, I had a go at him about this as he's only then got one other pair that fits him.
He casually informed me that they had the hole when he went to school that morning and in fact he'd worn them with the hole Monday and Tuesday also!!:rotfl:
hmmm... interesting
