Well I am now THE official worst mummy in the whole world after this morning...... just ask my 8 yo daughter.

She's been rehearsing for her class assembly for months now and had a leading part as the narrator.
Soooo excited this morning, up out of bed and ready in record time.
I get to the school only to find.......... ITS BLOODY FINISHED!!!!!:eek::eek:
Assumed it started at 9.30am as everyother assembly has but didnt know they had decided to start this particular one at 9am!!
My one saving grace is there were another 4 very bad mummies who also missed it, due to, I have to say, lack of correspondence from the school.

Try explaining that to 5 sobbing girls!!!
    I feel awful!!!

Does your school have the 'don't send them in for 24 hours after they've been sick'. Mine would never have gone to school on Thursdays after my nan had stuffed them all with junk on a wednesday afternoon when we visited! I decided to seperate the has been sick due to a stomach bug/illness from the being sick due to eating too much junk and def from the been sick due to a car journey. Otherwise DD would be banned from travelling in term-time .

If we had something nice to eat as a treat when I was little, like a punnet of strawberries, my mum always gave the biggest, best and the lion's share to my sister and I and just had a meagre portion of what was left-over herself.

I used to think, "When I'm a mummy I'm going to have the biggest and best strawberries for myself"

    :o:o:o and I do :o:o:o

Our schools have that policy too.....if I had adhered to it, two of mine would never have gone to school as they have something very similar to cealiac disease (and middle son has a floppy valve, all he had to do was run or jump and out it would come exorcist style) and would throw up on a regular basis without being ill.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Reading this thread makes me realise I've been naughty without even trying! eg cot bumpers, why are they wrong? Everyone used them when my kids were little, it was supposed to stop them banging their heads on the sides of the cot. Calpol? whats wrong with that? As long as you follow instructions why would that be bad? Are you supposed to let kids have pain and fever instead of giving them medicine? And why are baby wipes and toiletries specifically designed for babies now supposed to be bad for them? Seriously, I don't even understand what's going on here.
I haven't dared to ask, I was wondering about bonjella as well.

My friend never used to go to any of her daughters xmas productions. She used to tell her she was standing right at the back behind another Mum [this one only works if it's a big crowd though]. If she was reading her a story she used to hold 2 or 3 pages together so she could finish the story quicker. And if she asked her ''who is your favourite, Mummy'' she would just say ''you are'' instead of going into the rigmarole of explaining the ''I love you all equally but different'' thing.
