flyers,
I have just decluttered DS2 off to rugby training and I'm considering putting the TV on in the bedroom and letting DD watch while I snooze for a while since DS1 and OH aren't here:o
Soappie if the girl knows where the shelter is surely through them she would be able to get help/info. Please be very careful honey. Your a lovely kind hearted person and I wouldn't want anyone to take advantage of that IYSWIM.
Pigpen re the dog. Only you will know if you can cope with another pet but I think that you should think about it from the point of view that you will be left doing everything for the dog, would you still want one then? I know the kids will help out but if they don't your left with it IYSWIM. I told DS1 that we couldn't have a dog because DS2 was still in the pram and I couldn't manage a pram and a dog on walks. So we waited till DS2 was going to school got Mr Mac and I fell pregnant with DD so I had a pram and the dog! I have been hinting big time about getting another dog for my birthday. I'm wanting another bearded collie like Mr Mac but as he's silver and white I would like a black and white one. We'll see if OH takes the hint watch this space you may see a major strop come May though I fear:rotfl:
Right back to bed after I stick the WM on I think.
I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Piggers, re the dog.
I adore my BB. She is the first dog I've ever had. It was DS's suggestion 10 years ago. I thought long and hard and realised that what the real thing to think about is do *I* want a dog? Because ultimately, it would be *ME* that would end up caring for it. And it was, kids grow up, start dating, go out with friends and get drunk etc. etc. They start work, move away etc.
So that's what you've got to think of. Do *YOU* want a dog? If the answer to that is yes, then go for it gal, if the answer is it's only because DS or DD want one, then the answer's no.
No, I think they are stupid lol.. BUT.. we always had dogs growing up and never had an issue.. border collies, black labs, terriers of all flavours... I feel like I am depriving these.gratefulforhelp wrote: »M and D bought it for me. Spoilt, moi???
eta pigpen also think about how it will get on with any more babies (eg Jacob and Gf have another?) dogs tend to be good with existing family, but may not be so good as they get older with new members!
Yes, very spoilt!! lol

Morning all. My list basically consists of everything as my house is a total pit at the mo. Good job I have a week off to catch up
.
My first task is to persuade the kids to get some clothes on so we can go and get some shopping. I could do with a bit of fresh air to blow the cobwebs away too.
As well as catching up on the house this week, the garden is in dire need of some TLC. Alot of my big plant pots have major cracks in from the ice and snow and my once lovely little veg patch has turned into a huge litter tray for al the neighbourhood catsTwins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
LW When I had my hysterectomy, I had these type of dreams (horrible horrible horrible) until the hormone situation settled down. Is there a possibility that this may be an issue for you? (Don't know how old you are so don't want to mention the M word)The problem with common sense is its not very common:rotfl:
How do you climb Mount Everest? One step at a time0 -
Pigpen - I think you've already decided and as everyone else has already put the pros and cons there isn't anaything else to add so do what you have to do and I'm looking forward to the list that says "Scoop that poop"
Right, I've been shopping with DS who is at home instead of at his Dads, I've decluttered toast and coffee, put the DW on and now I'm off to tackle our bedroom which has become a major dumping room this week
Lamewolf - I hope you had a better night last night
Hugs to everyone else

Morning all!
Felt a little bit better last night after taking some ibuprofen, but stupidly didn't take any before bed, so woke up in the middle of the night again and had to air the bed and change my pjs and sleep on the sofa for a bit again with Ebony sitting on top of me.
Have taken some this morning to help my temperature, and have the window open and the bedding pulled back to air the bed. Don't know whether to change the sheets today and risk getting a puddle in the clean sheets tonight, or to wait until the fever has completely passed? I looked up flu online, and it said the fever part can last for 5 days - mine started on Monday, so I'm hoping it'll disappear today.
OH bought me 3 packets of Halls throat sweets yesterday with the menthol in them, to help my cough, but realised that we don't seem to have much in terms of paracetamol etc in the house. I took the ibuprofen cos it's helping my stomach muscle pain (from all of the coughing).
I'm drinking pints of water to keep hydrated, but don't have much of an appetite - probably due to the temp.
OH did some washing yesterday, but did his usual thing of not putting it away after himself, so will do that today to stop me from getting bored. May also get dressed at some point today so that I can put a load of washing on out in the garage, as there is mountains of the stuff left to do and OH is at work.
Well I'm off to test and see if there is any hot water left after OH had his shower last night (he's set it so the woodburner provides all of the hot water, and has turned the gas powered hot water off, and hasn't shown me how to turn it on if I need to, and I don't want to be messing around with the woodburner either). It may be a case of hand-washing with a flannel as the boiler is up in the loft and I'm not going up there either!
Hugs for all who are feeling snotty.
Happy holidays for Dusty, and have a fab birthday on Sunday.
Luckily I bought Moon's Valentine card last weekend, so I have that in already, and we'd planned to go out on Monday night for dinner, so I don't have to worry about not being up to going out this weekend.
Pigpen, I would be a vote against the dooger - you already have enough on your plate to worry about without adding another pet. What if the dog upsets the existing pets?
Well, I'm off now to get clean (AF is due today to make things even more exciting)
Love to all,

Hello all
Haven't been around again this week. I've not caught up apart from the last few pages. Must do some flying today, DH has promised to help. Will probably go off list and do our own today but I'll sort that out in a minute.
New washer came on Tuesday, it's great - much better than the old one, fits more in and a much better spin so things are drying really quickly. The stuff I hung up at 10pm last night is dry this morning.
Pigpen - for what it's worth I think it's a bad idea. Although it would be lovely and you'd cope I think you have enough on!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I feel like I am depriving these.
I know what you mean - I still feel like that sometimes, but for me the head has just got to win on this one. I know my limitations and taking on something else would just be the proverbial straw. Maybe I'll think about it when (if ever) I've got on top of the house and work.0 -
