triker sorry nothing much intelligent to add to the vacuum cleaner debate, we have a 7 year old dyson, its ok.
wm on, fire lit, dw unloaded.
Off to get lunch, been to market and got a new part for the water filter so we can use well water again.Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Sorry for the delay in reporting in, but all lists are done
Took 2 of us, 3 1/2 hours each so 7 hours in total, a few extra's done as well which I won't bore you all with.
All washing is done, but not all is dry yet.
That that is dry is folded for ironing tomorrow

Juliejim - how did you get on, this was my first HHC - now I get why you do them.I did the following
DW emptied and refilled
Wash up
Cleared draining board
Cleaned Hob
Wiped worktops
Got washing out and some into TD and rest on radiator
Put in next lot of washing
Got another load of washing ready
Had a wee
Put 28, yes 28 rolls of Xmas Wrap into Airing cupboard
Fed birds
Gave dog a biscuit

Monday~ Living room/family room or other reception room!- Wash any soft furnishings that are ickified
- wipe/wash/dust any ornaments

Wash bath mats,

Wipe paintwork up the stairs.. it always looks so much nicer cleaned and vacuumed!

- Major declutter in the kitchen cupboards to make room for the stuff on top of the freezer and for the Wok which we can't buy until there is room to put it somewhere and that drives DH mad

Clean the sofas.. vacuum under/between/backs cushions.. turn them over for even wear if possible.

[STRIKE]Sort out magazine racks/piles of newspapers etc.. can any be recycled?
[/STRIKE]Clear and wipe window sill.. do not put back the clutter!

Extras- Finish/do a small DIY job
- Wash any soft furnishings that are ickified
- Catch up on phonecalls.. to friends, family or nagging ones you have been naughtily putting off!!
- wipe/wash/dust any ornaments

Wipe table replacing cloth if necessary.. I want to see pretty tables piles of mail and pens and goodness knows what else has to go!
Clear out a cupboard.. The one with baking supplies or the one with pans and plastic boxes.. GO!! Or you could, if you have one, clear the pantry!
Wipe and replace small appliances.. Clean one thoroughly!
Level Three
Wipe units and large appliances.. don't forget kickboards!
Wipe the insides of all the cupboard doors!
Organise any cookery books.. Dusted, destickified and placed back tidily!
Dejunk window sills
Extras- Wash/replace any scanky dishclothes/sponges etc
- Throw out those bacteria breeding chipped mugs and plates etc
- Sort out and restock medicine cupboards (I threw out loads from mine today
)
- Wash the brushes, mops, dustpans etc.. how gross do these get?
Level 1
Check smoke alarms are working
Remove bed linen and replace with fresh linen
Declutter the floordrobe
Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs.. make sure to do the bed base.. mine was gross
Vacuum mattress before replacing fresh linen
15 minutes grotspot clearance
Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed
Defluff and demuck woodwork... skirtings, window frames, door frames dados, picture rails etc
Extras- 27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go grab a bag and clear that clutter
- Air the duvet.. fling it over the line for half an hour if you can.. fly away bugs!
- Clean windows in these rooms
- Binbag dance to go to charity shop! Or just general rehoming!

Wipe keyboard/monitor etc.. bath, basins, bog.. the works!!
Check bath sealant/grout.. does it need replacing? If so either do it or arrange for it to be done

Clear and tidy and sort a bookcase/shelves!
