Hi all,

Hoping to keep it together today, difficult as I'm home alone with time on my hands so I'm going to try and batch cook to keep my mind off it!

B: Toasted bagel with light cream cheese

L: Not sure yet

D: HM burritos with a little spanish rice and guacamole

S: Fruit as there is lots in the bowl going soft so I might make a big fruit salad

hello everyone!

Please can I join too? My weight is getting out of control and I dont really understand why. Maybe if I note everything down on here then people can give me ideas where the fat bits are coming from.....

Tonight I had risotto - it included a glass of wine, weightwatchers tho so hopefully not too bad, otherwise lots of celery and veg stock. I will probably eat the rest of it tommorrow for tea or put it in a pot and take it to work with me for lunch. I've got mixed fruit bread in the breadmaker at the moment so a couple of slices of that is probably going to be breakfast with SuperJam (sweetened with apple juice according to the label). I use sweetner in everything (including my bread) and olive oil. I buy ONE treat item for my cupboard a week, this week its carburys mini rolls.

Thanks

Jen

Please can I join?

After far too long faffing around talking about losing weight and getting healthy I've decided to actually do something about it. As I love cooking and want to make my life as MSE as possible before we return to reality (I may explain later!) this thread seems perfect for my needs! That and the fact that there are no such things as ready meals and faddy weight loss groups here so I have no choice but to cook proper meals! The MSE forums are such a lovely community (most of the time anyway) and hopefully this will provide the incentive and support I need. :)

So. I'm 27 and want to shift about 2.5 stone as well as just feeling better. Me and DH are possibly going to start trying for a Little Legs sometime next year, so ideally I want to have made a major difference by the end of this year.

It would be great to have other people point out where I am going wrong, as my DH just eats whatever is put in front of him and has even less willpower than I do. I think the problem is a combination of terrible portion control and a not very balanced diet....So from now on I am going to post my food/exercise as well as my progress in the hope it gives me the kick up the bum I need!

Today's food (which I must point out is not reflective of my eating patterns over the last couple of months - new start today!)/exercise:

B: 2 Weetabix with semi-skimmed milk and a small banana
L: Some braised red cabbage, one chicken drumstick (baked) and some lettuce
D: Toad in the hole with 2 low fat sausages, butternut squash and green salad.

Exercise - 32 minute fatburning programme on the cross trainer, followed by 30 min DVD workout.

I have cut coffee out as it doesn't agree with me, and very rarely drink tea. Mostly I drink squash (sugar free) which according to the info has next to nothing in it (apart from lots of chemicals). I am trying to train myself to drink a lot more plain water but it's so boring! I have decided that Mon-Thurs will be alcohol free, but I'm allowed a bit at the weekend.

So that's me. Congrats to all those on this forum who are losing weight already :j - and here's hoping I join your ranks!

Welcome Kalama and Top Drawer, we're a friendly bunch here and most of us find that the act of simply writing down on here what we are eating is enough to make us stop and think, even if just for a moment ;)

Hi everyone :) May I join you, Topdrawer and Kalama, in jumping into this thread?

Sadly, i know what my problem is (self-control) and I cannot shift these last 4lbs to take me to my target! Sadly, my "target" was an attainable one I set (being the weight I was pre-2nd baby), i.e at the the top end of the range I should be. But I could really do with being half a stone to a stone less than that (i.e. the weight I was pre-1st baby) :o I can be good with self-control and before 1st baby I was brilliantly disciplined but happy being so, and loved exercise, it's just getting back into the zone, if that makes sense to anyone apart from my own odd little brain!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: 30g instant oats with 1 chopped date, smoothie made with half a banana and 100ml oat milk

Lunch: 2 slices of nimble granary with about 3 tbsp full-fat hummus, 4 slices cucumber, 2 sliced strawberries. Bowl of watercress, iceberg, grated carrot and white cabbage.

Snack: Coffee and a square of hm choc walnut brownie I made with DD (cross with myself as I wasn't hungry, just being greedy cos they looked gooey and smelt delish - at least though I stopped myself at the soya cream in the fridge which called me :rotfl:.)

Dinner: Plan on about 3 tbsp from a tin of mixed bean salad and same of couscous, and lots of salad on the plate.

Supper: If I am hungry I will attempt to limit myself to carrot sticks and olives, or peanut butter on white cabbage leaves if craving sweetness.

Oh and 210 sit-ups. Nothing else :( My running partner no longer lives near me and feel like a right numpty on my own so no other exercise today - dreadful, Boodle, dreadful :(
Love and compassion to all x

Thanks for the welcome!

Today I have had 2 slices of mixed fruitbread with SuperJ@m and a cuppa tea. Lunch was two slices of fruit bread as I walked home and tea has been some of the rissoto which was left over from last night, deserts were one of my mini carburys rolls. I have been cleaning windows, hovering and general stuff today but this is normal so tommorrow I am going to aim for some proper exercise.

Hi all, welcome all newbies. I think the only thing we really can't tell from other's food lists is the portion size - I know I'm somewhat generous

Anyways I'd like to report that FINALLY I have had the first loss of the year and it ....

2 ½ lbs

Well I'm pleased anyway. All that running up and down stairs at work is finally having an effect :D

food today has been:

b: just right and oat milk
s: small bar of choc
l: salad with chicken breast
s: nectarine
d: barley and chicken hotpot and sorbet (see note above about being generous :D) and strawberries for pud.

I also walked 2 miles home UPHILL today in the heat.

But I must drink more water :o

working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
