  • Welcome newbies and well done to all the losers! :T

I've decided that a loss is out for me this week and I'll be very pleased if I just stay the same. Feeling a bit down at the moment so have been reaching for sugary salvation. :( Not had a major binge but have been eating more of the sweet stuff that I usually would.
I've been really tense to the point where the muscles in my shoulder and neck are so tight they are causing me physical discomfort so I'm off for a massage tonight and I'm hoping being relaxed afterwards will help curb my need to satisfy my sweet tooth!

Been busy here. Frogga what's CCE?

It's errm, Day 10. I was last here Day 8 it seems. Work is a bit funny this week, so nothing much else seems to be happening.

Yesterday something stopped me getting dinner at the normal time, but I can't remember at the moment what it was. Breakfast and lunch were OK, usual banana and yoghurt, there was some of my nice veg soup for lunch.

I've remembered. Had to go and meet up with someone from the twin town youth orchestra and a couple of our committee, not ideal to leave the house at 5pm having had nothing to eat, but as luck would have it there wasn't any temptation put in my way. When I got home there wasn't much easy, quick and nutritious about, so before any damage could be done I had a double helping of porridge (made with water). Then I looked at my food planner which was v high on carbs (don't really have a prob with that per se) and low on fat and protein, so I had a pear with a lump of gorgonzola. It was sooooo lush!

Today I managed to resist the beautiful looking cakes that all the students had made for their fundraiser. I sat and painted nails and did hand massages. I had a cup of juice (tasted like it had never seen sugar, it was soooooo sweet!) and was getting peckish about one, so got a ham salad sandwich from the snack bar in college. THEN! Danger! the class tutor who had organised the day brought me over a box of quality St and 'valentine' type gift of glasses in a box with a teddy (where is the 'vomit' icon?). THe QS are still sealed in the box.

WIll someone keep asking me if it's still intact? I tried very hard to refuse them, but she insisted. I shall perhaps pick out my favourites, weigh them and then count them in one day when I'm in need of a little something.

ALl that veg is still kicking around in my fridge. DS suggested scrambled eggs on Mon, which we enjoyed and he made himself eggy bread last night while I was out. I'm making him his absolute fave tonight, pizza. I shall have something with salad, might do some hot potatoes with it, seems like more of a meal somehow.

    THanks for all your support.

PS, neither Purple, nor Ivy are my real names. I have been asked about this before.

  • procrastinator - Forget about yesterday, today is a new day! Sometimes I get that feeling of NEEDING a specific kind of food (usually sweets) and there's nothing that can be done to dampen the desire other than just allowing myself to indulge a bit then waking up the next day and climbing straight back on the wagon :j

Yesterday is a prime example of this, OH and I went to the cinema and thoroughly enjoyed sharing a large tub of pick&mix between us :D I ate sensibly during the day and ran extra hard on the treadmill to compensate, and I don't feel guilty about it this morning :T Have also decided that I am going to give up all sweets and chocolate for Lent (suppose it's more of a personal challenge rather than a religious thing) so will make sure I allow myself SENSIBLE portion of these over the weekend before abstaining until Easter weekend  Today's plan:

B: Porridge made with water, half banana, sprinkle of raisins & cinnamon
L: Light cream cheese on HM wholemeal bread roll, mullerlight yog, pear
    Snack: Banana
D: Lemony prawn + pea pasta
Snack: Sugar free jelly + grapes

Exercise: 20mins walk on lunchbreak, 5K run at the gym (5 days in a row:T) with 150 sit ups

Haven't you all been busy on there, I can hardly keep up! :D
Welcome to the nutty couple, and seemasfriend, hope you'll enjoy being with us. And wow, congrats to raspberry, you're doing so well, almost there :T.
Frogga and Taplady :rotfl:, you make I larf! Thank god we can all have a bit of fun over this weight loss thing.
Well I've taken a leaf out of Taplady's book and have enjoyed a teacake with my lunch these past couple of days, and very nice they were too. The great thing is that I haven't gone ott on anything else like I often do. I've been so busy walking 'pupkin' that I probable need extra calories to keep going. That's my theory, only the scales will tell at the end of the month.
Had a great day yesterday, lovely weather and I fixed the fridge :T, so chuffed as I've missed to so much (broke down 1st Jan). The new thermostat has sat on it for weeks waiting for DH to do it. He's been ignoring it so well that I knew he was putting it off because it was worrying him as he didn't know what to do. So I had a go, and it works :D. DH so happy too, and DS's little fridge back in the garage (DH not so happy about that :rotfl:)
No idea about lunch yet except it included a teacake :D, but brekkie was porridge, prunes and fruit juice and tea will be Jacket potato with salad, small piece of flan and garlic ciabbata.
    Have a good day folks.

SO far so good today, normal brekkie of yoghurt, banana and honey (with nutmeg, must get more nutmeg). THat was rather late, so not sure what I'm going to do about lunch. Am going into work for 1.45, so should have something before then.

Planning a turkey/veg currry for later on.
