Taplady, I would love to do some baking but I don't think this would be a very good idea.
it isn't really as I can never resist. The cake at work was made by a workmate who is an excellent cake maker. I need to do same baking at home today so more temptation but DH and DS2 need feeding and with pennies tight I need to make my own.
I'm also going out for a meal tonight with work but have preordered salmon fillet(with a few chips:D)I'm hoping to avoid pudding(she says optimistically;):D)

Hi everyone - Can I join in please? I too am living on a tight budget and need to lose at least 3 stones for health reasons - the fact that I am overweight being one of them! I have been on this particular journey a number of times before, in fact more than I care to remember, lost weight, felt great and wham next thing I know I am back where I started.
I have good intentions, as I am sure we all have, but what is it about that self destruct button that allows us to cut a slice of cake, finish off the icecream etc? I keep telling myself that OS eating is no excuse for over eating so I need to stay on track.
So I have a big favour to ask of you all - if I post my meal and exercise plans will you challenge me - did I do it? if not why not? suggest alternative meals that will help my weight loss? in other words act as my OS weight coaches and hold me to account?
If this is not appropriate for this thread - do I need to set up a diary and where would I do that?
What do you think? Can you help?GC Feb £95.45/£1000 -
Congratulations to the losers and all who exercised!
This diet for me is about stopping the binges.
I managed tues last week to last night without one, then had a blow out on cereal and jacket spud with butter at 10 pm.
Hugely over target cals yesterday but proved I can go 6 days without binging and the food was stuff in the house instead of my normal pattern of buying sugary junk from Mr T's on a Sat afternoon.
I feel better day to day for not stuffing every 3-4 days and determined to squash the toad for good.
Best wishes to all.0 -
Welcome seemasfriend  Like you, I'm constantly resisting that self-destruct button (and many days I don't, that's why I'm here!) Definitely join in and post up your diet and exercise plans - people here are v.supportive and will always try to keep you on the straight and narrow
Whiteviolet - well done on going that long without binging :T Whilst I don't have great binge tendancies (I'm more of a constant grazer - and not typically on healthy stuff!) I still don't think I could manage 6 days without a bit of a blow-out.
Yesterday was an ok day for me. As usual I managed to be good during the day, but just couldnt resist that slice of HM cake that OH put in front of me with my 9pm cup of teaI had bought in some grapes and tinned peaches incase I suffered an evening snack attack so there was really no excuse for eating the cake other than that it was just there and also happens to be REALLY tasty (lemon, poppyseed and cranberries, mmm). Must try harder today, although I have a nasty feeling I'll just need to get the darn cake eaten and out of the house before I can fully concentrate on being good
Today's plan looks like this:
B: Porridge made with water, half banana, sprinkle of raisins, dash of cinnamon
L: Leftover mushroom risotto, mullerlight yog, pear
Snack: AppleBalsamic chicken with HM spicy wedges and salad
Snack: Grapes/tinned peaches
Exercise: 20min walk at luncbreak, 5K run at the gym, 150 sit ups
Hope everyone has a nice day0 -

Hi all and welcome to seemasfriend
Things are Ok today apart from a really weird feeling I've had in my head since we got back from Germany. Its almost like my brain is fuzzy and I can't focus properly and have a constant headache and nausea. I suspect its just delayed motion sickness from travelling so much in 4 days (2 flights and 2 long train journeys), I don't get travel sick but this is the second time I've had this strange feeling of being on a boat while sitting still after being away on holiday
B: Wholemeal toast and light cream cheese
L: ScouseChicken pie and lots of steamed veggies
S; Maybe an Options Hot Choc if I fancy one later0 -
Today is not going well for me. I'm trying to study and since my brain is frying I've got the munchies - and not ones that can be satisfied with popcorn
Right now I'm taking a break from the studying while I have a mug of hot chocolate (absolutely freezing here and cutting back on the coffee and can't stand tea without sugar in *adds sweeteners to the shopping list*) but what I really want is a big bag of midget gems
 Damn you student days when I lived on midget gems, pizza, chips with onion gravy and beer!!!

Hope those of you feeling under the weather feel better soon, just wrap up well and have a nice warm drink. :grouphug: Actually this is a good idea for everyone methinks!!
I normally have soup or a sandwich for lunch, but the soup is all done (must make more soon!!). As I am freezing cold, I am having a toasted ham & cheese sandwich...yum,yum. I added some of my HM chutney and it is sooooo scrummy!! I used thin slices of cheddar and ham, so have not gone overboard fat/calorie-wise (I hope!).
I scoffed when Dad sent us a George Foreman grill last year and threatened to sell it on eBay...but we use it a lot now. In fact, this is the third day in a row so far this week.
It has tried to snow again just now...it is certainly cold enough...despite the sun shining!
I have to do some bakig this afternoon, mainly for DS2 (another son with big hollow legs!!), but I will try to resist having too many...one bun and/or hobnob perhaps!!
Right food for today
B: Porridge (using half soya milk & water) with sultanans and OJ
S: Slice of fat-free fruit loaf
L: Toasted ham & cheese sandwich (thin slices cheddar & ham), using 2 slice HM wholemeal bread; banana
S: Freshly made bun?
T: Poached egg on toast & veg; making pasta & cheese sauce for DH & DS2
S: Bun/hobnob
....I will NOT make flapjacks....I will NOT make flapjacks....I will NOT make flapjacks - I just HAVEto eat them if I make them!! ....and DS1 is not home to demolish them

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I got weighed this morning and was horrified to see that I had yoyoed back to 14 1/2 stone having reached a long time low of 13 st last summer. What a waste but no point dwelling on it - I must do something about it.
Am eating vegetarian most of the time to keep costs down bt hampered by the fact that I am allergic to cheese so have to be ultra creative.
Today I have had porridge (half and half) with grapes
Scrambled eggs (2)
A homemade lemon and currant biscuit (slapped hand)
and have some broccoli and cauliflower that I need to turn into a meal fit for a king by 5pm!
I was inspired to walk for an hour + this morning but am working this evening from home so that may be my lot for the day.
On a positive note I have had 3 cups of peppermint tea which I find lifts my energy levels and suppresses my appetite.
Does anyone else have any tips for fil-u -ups that are calorie free (or nearly)?GC Feb £95.45/£1000
