Oooh, a nice shiny new thread!! :j:j

I overdid things yesterday, I was only supposed to be supervising DH & DS2 cutting down and clearing the lilacs from the front garden...but I ended up sweeping and tidying things at the end of the afternoon....one of the worst things for my (now even worse :o) bad back...you would think I would have learned over all the years...but oh no..!

Feeling really carp last night and so binged on rather a few (10 ) funsize-mars-look-alikes...oh the shame....:(.. So today I will be taking things easy...still aching from yesterday.

I have to make a start creating a list of ingredients (and their nutritional info) for all the food we have eaten in the last 5 days (or rather DS2 has eaten). He has to provide a 5-day food and exercise diary for the Scottish Rugby Union folk so they can work out if he is eating the right stuff. The things we do for our kids! He won't hear whether he has been picked for the u-17s Scotland team until the end of the month, but he has a Performance Group two day camp where they will discuss his eating and exercise regime - it will be interesting to see what they say!! I know he eats healthily, but rugby players need a slightly different balance in their diet (much more food :D) I suspect!!!

So off I go into Word, or I may use Excel, not sure yet. I have lots of bits of paper with what he has eaten over hte past few days along with various recipes - all measured out properly (a rare occurence for me!).

Have a good day everyone...We will be watching the Scotland vs France match this afternoon on TV - might even get some ironing done!! Let's hope this match is better than the two yesterday...so long as Scotland win of-course! Who knows, my DS" might be playing for them in years to come (must stop jumping so far ahead...but a mum can dream ;)!!).

    Food for today:

    B: Porridge (using water, soya-milk & sultanans); + OJ
S: Chewing gum...keeps me away from the chocolate!
L: Bacon (grilled!) butties with HM bread, banana
    S: tangerine
T: Lamb steak, dry roast pots; carrots & cabbage.
S: HM apple & pear crumble (& custard??)

Woops, another long waffly post, sorry :o

    Morning campers,

Nicki I have been using Food Focus for logging my food. It's OK, better than nothing. It's free, but not as comprehensive as weightlossresources.

Today is day 7. Weight is going I think. I hope. I'm not like Frogga in that I need to see evidence of loss more frequently.

I did OK yesterday, lunch was veg soup (hefty style) and a bit of salad and fruit, dinner was cold roast chicken with roast veg and broccoli. Had a fruit corner for pud, but have to say I didn't really enjoy it very much,

Lunch today will be salad, brekkie was yogurt banana and honey, dinner will be pasta of some description - bacon and goat's cheese probs. dunno about pud. MIL coming so should do one.

HM houmous if you have some chickpeas in. I add roasted red pepper which stretch it a bit.

  • Oooh nice new thread :)

Some great losses posted so well done to all the losers! :T And good luck everyone else!

Had my weigh in this morning and I've lost 0.6kg this week! (which is just over 1lb) So i'm getting there! Will be happy if I manage to keep this up.
Have decided to watch the rugby at home today instead of in the pub so that should keep my calorie intake down.

Today should be not too bad food-wise.
    B - toast and jam
    L - HM lentil soup
S - crusty roll with light cream cheese
D - steak and roast tatties

    Thanks for the new thread.

The question today has been 'Diet? What diet?' :o

I carefully defrosted some chicken from the freezer, did some veg (peas, carrots, potatoes) and set them all in a pan to boil with some chicken stock to make a stew. Then told DH I was going to make a phone call. He saw me on the phone. I ended the call, went to the kitchen to find the delicious smells of burning stew. AARRGGHHH!!!:(

Ran into living room to find DH sitting totally oblivious watching TV.

Anyway, to atone for his error, he took me out to dinner - carvery. I was starving so did the full works, including 5 roasties. I didnt eat the Yorkshire pud - too dry; but I did have enough meat to make 4 meals at home! But no starter or dessert.:o

To make up for the binge, we then went fior a 6 mile walk - hope that evens things up a bit. Expect the scales will tell me no loss again this week :(

Never mind - new week just starting, so all in all I clocked up 30 miles from last Sunday to this Saturday and have already done 6 this week (starting today). Cant understand why the weight isnt dropping off - but Im sure it will.

  • Keiss Good luck to your son!

BenW Isn't amazing how no-one else notices a burning pan?

Purple skies congratulations on your loss :-)

Mildly pleased with myself for yesterday. My normal pattern is to head for the supermarket after lunch on Sunday buy a packet of junk to eat on the way home but resisted this time.

I had about twice the amount of roast chicken I intended for lunch - but that was far better than the choc chip biscuits that fell into my basket last week.

    Sunday:
    bran flakes and semi milk
    roast chicken,spud,greens and carrot
    toast, lentil soup
    yoghurt.

    best wishes to all

Well done on your loss Purpleskies! :j

Determined to make today a good day. Yesterday was ok, but I've got to put some work in before I feel confident to face the scales again. Started the day with fruit and will be out most of the morning at yoga play session with DD so should be safe till I get home.

DD has been getting up at 5am the last few days though so I'm ravenous by lunchtime! Quite a few healthy left-overs in the fridge though.

    B: clementine, shape yoghurt (100)

L: hm soup, small plate of quorn in fajita spices with a dollop of hm salsa and half fat creme fraiche (400)

D: 2 quorn sausages with potato, parsnip and butternut squash mash and peas (600)

Right, did the weigh-in and I hae managed to lose 1lb!

I have walked my legs off this last two weeks and counted calories till Im stir crazy (not good with numbers as a rule) and all I have to show for it is a 1lb loss. Grrrrr.

Still, I suppose it's a step (a very small step) in the right direction!

  • I must admit, it's slightly comforting to see I'm not the only one who suffers horrendously with weekend "diet? what diet?!" syndrome!

This weekend was a mixed bag as we had OH's parents to stay and they're the annoying type who could eat a block of lard for breakfast every day and still look slim and trim. There were some small victories such as cooking bacon rolls for everyone on sat morning but resisting and making myself porridge instead, and doing a full english on sunday morning but only allowing myself 2 slices of turkey bacon (55cals :A) and a spoonful of baked beans. But then I probably undid all this good work by eating a large bag of liquorice allsorts on sat afternoon and having a few too many slices of HM lemon drizzle cake and HM granary bread (sooo hard to resist that fresh-baked smell!) throughout the course of the weekend :o I did go for a 7K run yesterday but doubt that counted for much and I went to bed feeling rather bloated and whale-like. Completely self-inflicted

BUT today is a new day and I'm determined to make it a good one. Just realised it's exactly 4 weeks till my dad's 60th birthday weekend (big family get-together - would LOVE to buy a nice new dress for it) so must knuckle down and see if I can shift a good few lbs before then.

B: Porridge made with water, half banana, sprinkle of raisins
L: Leftover chicken salad, mullerlight yog, pear
    Snack: Apple
    D: Mushroom risotto
    Snack: Grapes/tinned peaches

Exercise: Run 5K at gym, 100 sit ups

    Happy Monday everyone :j
