rainbowfairydust - you've done brilliantly and I take heart from your post - you seem to have it sussed (though I don't like counting calories!)
Thanks Franby.. instead of dieting (from a personal point of view , the word diet makes me reach for the largest chocolate bar i can get my hands on) - I am making a concientious effort to eat more healthily , and watch portion size & am trying to recognise when my body is actually hungry rather than when i am bored etc. I am a terrible comfort eater & last night for example when i went to buy the milk i ended up buying chocolate as well as colleagues at work had really grated on my nerves by the end of the day, so in order for me to feel better i wanted chocolate. By the time i had got home from the shop i realised this , and instead of stuffing my chops with the choc i just put it in the cupboard.. ( that might sound like i have loads of self control but i def do NOT haha , and instead pictured myself as i wanted to be ) . Half the battle for me is in my head , and realising that im eating due to something that has happened during that day - its bloody hard work forcing yourself to realise this fact & then stopping yourself scoffing all your goodies.
When you put something in your mouth , ask yourself what benefits you will be getting from it? i find when i stop to think about it then it makes me think twice as to whether i am hungry or just snacking for the sake of it.(apart from the mental satisfaction initially then i get an attack of guilt , self loathing etc as i feel too weak not to be able too resist the temptation )
Don't deny yourself anything though , as if you do then all you will do is eat a massive amount of whatever it is you are craving ... i have been trying to lose weight for the past 10 years now , and have tried unsucessfully on on weight watchers, slim fast etc etc and while they worked temporarily i have always put the lbs back on again.
Looking back i beleive this was due to me literally cutting back on everything that had high fat/sugar/carb content in a shotr space of time , and obviously i then fell off the bandwagon & put the weight on again !
Have you made your mind up about the SW yet? £60 is loads of money ... . If you think it'd work for you then def give it a go , but i think you could do it on your own. Feel free to pm ( and anyone else for that matter ) if your floundering... your not on your own i have at least one day like that every week , and regularly fall off the bandwagon.. i just get back on it the day after & pretend the blip never happened... :rotfl:

Morning all
Thankyou rainbowfairydust and VALM - these are the things I need to tackle and I feel very positive today. I've decided that I am not going to give any slimming organisations any more of my money (with the possible exception of the odd magazine but frankly I've read enough of those as well!).
I've also eaten for the wrong reasons for years and I play mind games. If I put myself on a diet I will usually end up fighting myself and feeling sorry for myself and then eating to spite myself (ridiculous isn't it?!).
So I'm going back to the 3 meals plus snacks plus self control while forgiving myself the odd little pig-out while I readjust.
Today will be
Br : porridge with raisins and milk (ditching the honey).
L : Roll, pate (not much) coleslaw and salad.
T: something with turkey in it.
snacks - fruit and yogurt.
Do exercise DVD.
Have a good day everybody and thanks for the advice.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Morning all. Had a bit more to eat than I should have yesterday (absentmindedly ate DDs pasta that she didn't eat for tea - must ban leftovers!). But didn't pig on chocolate or anything rubbish at least. However, I really want to STS or lose a little by saturday so would like to make the next three days really count.

you should still have the honey but just use a little teaspoon full...or even half a teaspoon.. its all about moderation ! or maybe you could have it one day but then the next day don't ! That way you will still enjoy your breakfast & you won't feel like you are cutting it out completely !
does that make sense?
Can i be honest as well? i don't mean to be offensive or tell you what to eat etc but instead of having coleslaw with has mayo (which is calorie laden , even the low fat stuff) . You could just have the salad/pate roll at lunch , and have the honey in the morning time.... your body will then have more time to work off the honey as you ate it first thing.
Have you heard about the rule where you eat like a king in the morning, eat like a prince at lunch & eat like a pauper in the evening....
That makes sense for me as what ever you eat first thing is more likely to be burnt off
