I'm not really surprised you went and bought the chicken bites, because your meal wasn't very balanced in the 1st place.
I think you need to work on getting the nutrients that your body needs first, then think about losing weight.
eg, for your lunch I would pack up -
a piece of chicken that you have cooked at home, therefore not processed. Salad, yoghurt, a wholemeal roll [preferably granary or seeded], unless you are going low carb.
I would lose the wotsits and chocolate bar, they are not providing your body with any nutrition.
If you try and eat 'clean' most of the time ou will soon start to feel healthier, and your body will be getting what it needs. At the same time try and do some exercise, something that you enjoy doing.
Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I'm fitter then I've ever been (I cycled from London to Paris last September, I did a 10k in April, the 3 Peaks in 24 hours in May and a half marathon in September) and when I'm focused to do exercise I will do it, but at the minute I've lost it. As with the weight loss reward, when I was training hard for L2P (personal trainer 3 times a week, gym 4 times a week, 40 mile plus cycles on Saturday and Sundays off thank god!) I used to eat crap because I thought I could and I earned it.
I can never seem to get out of that mentality.DEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!

Hi all, what a strange day - sunshine, showers, windy and mild through it all! So I have the back door open, can't believe it's possible in November
B - grapes, satsuma
D - rotini with veggie/tomato type bol, grated rf cheese, swirl of ff Greek yogurt on top
T - bowl F&F, ss milk
snacks - apple, plums (almost ripe!) melon, banana
Exercise - 1 hour pulm exercise. Last class for 4 weeks so will have to get strict with myself and carry on at home.
Enjoy the rest of the day0 -
GreenSaints I think it's just a mental thing really then. Obviously you already know a lot about fitness [in fact you should be giving the rest of us advice
]. I think it's just getting to the 'zone' where we think of food more as a fuel rather than a reward.
Have you tried the plan where you cut calories for a set period, then have a treat day? That is supposed to work quite well for some people.
Other than that, I don't know what to suggest. It just sort of clicked for me one day, and I knew I wanted to become more healthy. I think the secret is to think of it as a way of life, rather than a diet just to lose weight. As far as I am concerned I am going to stick to this way of eating for the rest of my life [as long as I don't have any medical problems], because I feel so much better for it. I don't really want to eat junk food any more, so I don't feel deprived.
I think you have to wait until you feel ready to make changes, and then things will fall into place.0 -
The thing is, I know so much about diet and exercise its embarrassing that I don't practice what I preach.
I'm going to try and start tomorrow (statically, people who start diets fail of they start on a Monday. It's that thing if you fall off the wagon, you say "I'll start again Monday") Got Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred, so going to do that in the morning as I think each workout is 30 minutes (but not assuming they are easy)
I'm also getting Dance Central 2 next week, so I'll be burning some calories on that
But, as my super cut future husband Ryan Reynolds says, it's 80% nutrition 20% exercise. Need to get that in my head.DEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!

My weigh-in today and I have lost2.5lbs. I can't believe it, I've eaten so much rubbish over the last couple of days wedding/family bonfire/family quiz. I have walked to work a couple of days and tried really hard between do's so something has worked.
Today Breakfast Bran Flakes and skimmed milk, water.
Lunch Homemade tomato and butternut squash soup
Tea 2 slices toast, poached egg and baked beans
Going to have a small piece of cake for supper.
Good Luck with weigh-ins.

Exercise: HBT class or a legs workout at the gym. or maybe neither as it's TOTM and I'm not feeling too clever. DH is away tonight, so planning a nice evening on the sofa after exercise with all the things I've recorded on the Sky+ and not watched yet!
evening all
slinking in to report a change to my planned meals. decided to skip my exercise class after feeling grotty all day as my planned calories were pretty low. Then succumbed to the temptation of a takeaway pizza!. Felt guilty afterwards and dragged myself to the gym for a cardio workout but my calories for the day are still well over my target. so cross with myself  it's like as soon as I think I can get away without anyone knowing I lose all self control.
oh well, tomorrow's another day, will endeavour to do better.:oLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

Belated good morning all
Pollys that a great loss :T, I look forward to (dream of?) the day I have a row of smiley faces as long as yours!
Littlemoog enjoy whatever you eat, if we don't have a treat now and then we're likely to fall off the wagon completely. Come to think of it, I've had a pizza lurking in the bottom of the freezer for some time.....;)
slowly fading your days meals yesterday look pretty balanced to me. I like the sound of wraps for a pizza base, might try that
B - red grapefruit, they're so yummy atm I'm eating a whole one at a time
L - pasta with tomato & veggie sauce, rf cheese and yogurt
T - crispbreads with vegemite, peanut butter
S - satsumas, melon, banana, plums

Hello all, been very busy lately, trying to get Solar PV installed before the deadline, there are so many cowboys out there! We were well into the process when the 12 December deadline was announced so decided to go ahead and get it done.
Been going for lots of walks with Harry but the going to the gym, we are lucky if we make it once a week, this is mainly due to work being extra busy but in this economic climate that is a good thing.
Weight wise I have no idea where I am up to, getting ready in the mornings han't included a weigh in for some time. Must make sure I do it soon as my weight always creeps up when I don't keep an eye on it.
Very familiar with the problem GreenSaints is having, lots of knowledge but seeming unable to put it into practice, I found the best advice was keep trying, keep writting on here and reading other proeples struggles and triumphs untill it comes together. Oh yes and just change one thing about your behavior this week, a daily walk, a healthy breakfast, a better choice of snack, I usualy find this very motivating. Good luck anyway."doing the best you enjoy, not the best you can tolerate, is truly the best you can do sustainably."0
