    Morning all :)
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I went to see my big sister on Saturday and had lots of lovely cuddles with my nephew (13 months). He's such a cutie :D Didn't do much yesterday, but enjoyed chilling out with DH.

    Meals today:
Breakfast: greek yoghurt fruit corner, satsumas
Lunch: square wrap with houmous and rocket, apple, satsumas
    Dinner: shepherds pie, peas, sprouts

Exercise: HBT class or a legs workout at the gym. or maybe neither as it's TOTM and I'm not feeling too clever. DH is away tonight, so planning a nice evening on the sofa after exercise with all the things I've recorded on the Sky+ and not watched yet!

Morning all... I did not do well this weekend (or most of last week to be honest!). MIL brought round a tub of celebrations (why did no one buy me chocolate when I was fat and didn't care?) so DH and I have been trying to eat them all to stop me pigging on them during the week. Bonfire party last night so lots of wine and mulled wine and hot dogs etc...

Today I WILL get back on track (apart from the pork, gravy, bread and toast I've already had... I pick so much when I cook, I wish I wasn't so good at it!)...
    Swimming tonight.

Ragz I hope you have a better swim than I did today. Why do some women insist on swimming really slowly, in pairs , when half the pool is already closed off, chit chatting away. I don't think I got one whole decent length in. What a luxury it would be to have a full size private pool.
Anyway, my meal plans for today are -
B - fruit, LF greek yoghurt, honey and nuts
L - quinoa and stir fried vegetables
Tea - grilled halloumi light and cherry tomatoes in a wholemeal pitta.
    Snacks - fruit, brazil nuts.
    Have a good day everyone.
  • Hello everyone,

    I need help :(

I can't get into the right frame of mind. I'm desperately trying to shift some weight, but I just can't get focused. Example, I make my lunch every day and bring quite a lot and its generally healthy (salad, fruit, yogurt, a packet of wotsits and a chocolate bar) but I went out to lunch and bought some chicken bites from Tesco's!

What is wrong with me? Not only can I not afford to waste my money like this, but I want to be at least 1 stone lighter.

    Please help me :(

Well done for taking the first step! Now think back to lunchtime, can you think why you went out to Tesco and got the bites? Tomorrow could you do something different (write your shopping list for the week, start planning a holiday, start looking for evening classes!) to keep you from going out? Also have you worked out how many calories a day you are having and how many you need to lose a pound a week? Or are you following WW or SW or some such plan?

Thanks for your response and being understanding.

I just went out to post a load of eBay items. After that, it was like I was on autopilot and just bought them.

I'm not really following any plan, though I've done them all. I never really find one I can stick too

Aaah the old auto-pilot thingy, never a good one! Okay, in that case are all your Ebay parcels dealt with (what I mean is do you need to go out again any lunchtime this week?), and out of the plans you have done which did you get on best with (this gives you a starting point) :D

    Afternoon All,

I woke up determined to get a smiley face on the weight loss board this week and then got a text from my friend cancelling our walk! However, I think I have made up for it. I did 25 minutes of my DVD but then stopped as I'm having problems with my left shoulder. To make up for it I decided to jog for 5 minutes and then carried on and got carried away and did 20 minutes jogging - just around the flat not outside at all! I then went swimmng and did about 40 lengths equivalent. I'm not sure how many exactly as part of the pool was roped off at one point for a baby class but I swam non-stop for 45 minutes and I know I start off at a length a minute and then slow down as I get tired. I've also walked up to the PO and bank which is about 2/3 mile in total.

    B: Muesli with extra sultanas
L: HM carrot soup and 2 slices of HM granary bread.
D: Left over lasagne from yesterday with HG spinach cooked with red onions, garlic and a little creme fraiche. Apple.

I have work tonight so that will keep me busy and away from food.

    Rose

ETA: Also shared a small bar of dark chocolate with DH. Well, I couldn't really refuse when he presented it with my coffee.

I'm waiting for one more item to be paid for, but that'll be a courier jobbie.

I will need to go visit my mum at lunch tomorrow, but I won't be near any food outlets!

I did Slimming World in 2007 and lost nearly 2 stone, but that was when I was a student and couldn't afford to eat!

I put one of them back on at the end of 2009 and lost that with Weight Watchers and have been at that weight since (give or take a few lbs)

My biggest downfall is when I lose weight, I always reward myself with food (usually from our local pizza place) We're cutting them down because they cost so much, so I just need something else in place of this.

Another reason is that I want to be a personal trainer (ha!) and I'm starting a course in January. So my head needs to be sorted then

I'm not really surprised you went and bought the chicken bites, because your meal wasn't very balanced in the 1st place.
I think you need to work on getting the nutrients that your body needs first, then think about losing weight.
eg, for your lunch I would pack up -
a piece of chicken that you have cooked at home, therefore not processed. Salad, yoghurt, a wholemeal roll [preferably granary or seeded], unless you are going low carb.
I would lose the wotsits and chocolate bar, they are not providing your body with any nutrition.
If you try and eat 'clean' most of the time you will soon start to feel healthier, and your body will be getting what it needs. At the same time try and do some exercise, something that you enjoy doing.
