Trixie - your carrot, chilli and garlic soup sounds lovely - any chance of a recipe, please? :)

    Ummm.....

I just threw it all in a pot no measuring!

    Carrot, garlic and chilli soup:

2 veg stock cubes, half a left over carton of passata. about 5 carrots, 2 small onions, one red chilli, seeds in if you want it HOT, out if not, squeeze of garlic puree, squeeze of tomato puree, salt pepper... boil up then whizz :)

I tend to prep the night before, bring to boil switch off and leave overnight then whiz and heat thru - like most things the taste can improve massively on standing.

Morning everyone. I had a couple of cookies and a bit of twix last night ,so a bit naughty. Have worked it off [hopefully] this morning with a nice long swim.
    meal plans -
    B banana, FF yoghurt
L probably pitta with LF houmous again
D haven't decided, but will make something with lots of veggies.
    Keep it up everyone!
Am having a little treat for dinner. Sainsbury ready made ravioli with ricotta and spinach. Not very old style [having a readymeal] but will have some home made tomato sauce with it.

Weighed in again this morning, even worse today  Think I will leave it til next week to weigh again, not sure what's going on *hopes scales are acting up*

Yeah leave it a week, it must be the hormones (mine play havoc with my weight). Drink plenty of water as that really helps with water retention (sounds silly I know), I resorted to Aquaban once though I am not sure it really helped and it's best to just wait it out, it won't last. Keep up the healthy eating and exercise and you may well get a nice shock on the scales next week.

    Welcome all new posters

I've just made soup too, though I can't say it was great. It was fine, edible but not so good I want to share the recipe :o

Swam last night, 70 lengths burning about 800cal and also managed 30 minutes on MyFitnessCoach burning 109cal. My stomach muscles are hurting today as the b**** made me do tons of bl**dy crunches, sneakily in sets of 8,10 and 12 so I didn't realise how many I was doing but it must have been way over 100. Not much point really as my abs are well hidden beneath a layer of baby belly that will probably never go away!

    Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all, lovely day here, sunny, a bit windy, just right for getting a bit of outdoor exercise*

    B - Muller light
L - Last of the meaty veggie soup - why is all the best tasting food in my house the 'chuck it in and see' sort? :) Panini to dunk
D - 1/2 gammon, dry fried egg, jacket with yogurt instead of butter.Plus tomatoes, 1/2 sliced courgette
Snacks - the usual lots of fruit, no banana as I've run out. Perhaps the last bag of snackajacks instead

*Exercise - brushed the dog (long haired wriggler, not easy but makes lots of lovely nesting material for the birds), emptied and replanted the three large pots at the front of the house. Removed the remains of the arch which the wind destroyed yesterday. That's enough for one day, going to enjoy my siesta after lunch

I have to be particularly good this week as DS and DGS are coming for the weekend, two active footballing types (will be playing so need fuel) who take a lot of filling up, and try as I might to resist, I could be tempted to join them. Eating that is, not footballing ;)

Have a good rest of the day

    Afternoon All,

I felt really bad when I got home from work last night but dosed myself up with medicine and actually had a really good night's sleep. I've also been taking echinacea and Vitamin C tablets - all of which means I seem to have got off very lightly with what I thought was going to be a bad cold and sore throat. I only did one of my exercise classes today rather than 2 though and took it easy.

B: One Poached egg on one slice of unbuttered toast
L: Cheese, tomato and garlic on one slice of wholemeal toast. Apple.
S: Several spoonfuls of peanut butter out of the jar - not all at once.
D: Grilled haddock in breadcrumbs, green beans, roasted red and yellow pepper, 2 new potatoes with butter. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.

Exercise: One hour of stability ball class. Walks to and from class, chemist and to doctors to make an appointment for DH - which adds up to just over 2 /12 miles in total.

    Evening,

Weighed myself today (I really need better scales the amount they read depends on where you stand on them, a whether you lean forwards to get a better look at reading) but I think, it said 10st 2. Which, if it is, means a pound lost in the last week/week and a half.

Not eaten that much today - too busy stressing over how the council tax have messed up my payment and working out how to find the extra money.

    Breakfast: A current bun.
Snack: low fat lemon and chilli corn snacks.
Lunch: the other current bun in the packet.
Snack: none (I was stuck in the endless queue at the council office for the best part of an hour.)
Dinner: spaggetti and HM tomato and mushroom sauce.

Will try for something a bit healthier tomorrow.

I did so well earlier in the year, losing a stone in a month on SW. I've lost nothing since and it's really getting me down. I'm going to start again tomorrow, I promise.

    Here's what I've had today:

B: Banana with LF greek yogurt
L: Handful of chippy chips & sausage roll
    S: Orange, 1 Twix finger
T: Mushroom omelette with HM wedges

Trixie - thanks for that soup recipe - it sounds lovely. I'm always getting carrots in my veg box that I don't know what to do with - now I think I do! :D

Change of plan for me for dinner tonight - it ended up being a HM sausage and bean pasty from the freezer (more sausage flavour than actual sausage, tbh - I think I found 3 slices in the whole pasty! :o) with a handful of HG cherry tomatoes.

I can't wait to finish this OU essay so I have time to cook a proper dinner again. :(
Back after a very long break!

B: porridge mdae with half purple milk half water, pinch salt and with tsp syrup
L: HM carrot chilli and garlic soup with [STRIKE]2[/STRIKE] 1 slice wm bread
D: HM slowcookered beef with carrots, onions, couple stock cubes, bottle of bear - split between 4 portions so ok :), served with [STRIKE]spinach [/STRIKE]brocolli and cauli.
snacks: packet monster munch, muller lite mixed into sugar free jelly

and a slice of bread with a scrape of marmalade and 3 plain digestives.

Feel like I've failed today but reading back it's ok really? isn't it?!

Never been much of an evening muncher but haven't had as many cups of black tea the last few days so maybe that's the key? fill up on hot tea!

    Planning ahead for the morns:

B: porridge made with half purple milk half water, pinch salt and tsp syrup - which is actually working out less cals than sugar??!!
    Snack: muller lite
Lunch: LO Hm carrot soup with 2 slices wm bread
Dinner: lo fish pie, spinach, carrots
    Snack: monster munch

I know I could do with some fruit but unless I get it reduced then I cannot actually afford to buy any right now :o am having the snacks I have got in... on an aside, Mullerlights are only 30p at Asda right now, hth someone!
