Afternoon All,
It's been a quiet day here so far. I have work this evening from 5 till about 10.15 so it will mean a packed tea, which meant a cooked lunch.
B: Oat and sultana fruit slice.
L: HM Egg and chips. Greek yoghurt with lemon and a bit of Splenda
T: Prawn salad wrap. 2 pears.
Exercise: 20 minutes of Level 3 Shred DVD. I shall walk to work but that's only 3/4 mile so I may set off earlier and walk a longer way round just to round it up to at least a mile.
ETA: I managed a couple of extra short walks after all - I went out to buy some knitting needles in a size I hadn't got for a jumper I started yesterday and then again to the bank machine for DH. In the end with that and the walk to work I managed 2 and 1/4 miles.

Oh Ida Notion, how I feel for you. Reading your post took me back just over three years to when I stopped smoking. Rather than battling all by yourself why not consider doing what I did? I joined a NHS Smoking Cessation Group at my local health centre. All aids are prescribed free (I chose patches and an inhalator but you could choose what's best for you) - there were just 6 of us in my group, we met weekly and it was good to be able to talk to someone in the same boat, who knew how you were feeling! At the end of the course three had dropped out and three (including me!) succeeded in quitting. Believe me if I could stop - a smoker of 43 years - anyone could!! I'm not saying it was easy and I did put one and a half stone on (with the constant eating of sweets, choccy bars and biscuits) but much to everyone's surprise I did it. Good luck Ida I admire your determination to quit and lose weight at the same time.
Sorry folks for hi-jacking the thread with quitting smoking help but I am sure the regulars on here will understand."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Hi again, I am back with my dieters head on now! I stuck (almost!) to plan yesterday and am thoroughly regretting my 5 days of gluttony! Yesterday's eats:
B - Porridge & raspberries
L - Scrambled egg on toasted Thin, with roasted cherry tomatoes & thin ham. Mini banana with FF vanilla yogurt.
D - Smoked haddock with salad and new potatoes. Slice of Nimble. Meringue nest with raspberries, SF jelly & WW fromage frais.
S - Few grapes, 2 satsumas, Fig biscuit & 2 glasses of wine (oh dear the last 2 items weren't on the plan!)
Have a good day everybody. Weather permitting I am determined to go for a tramp over the moors this afternoon."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
hi guys just found this thread and it's great to share tips and motivate each other.
I've done really well in the last month as I've gone to the gym 3 times every week and walked miles in a new job!! I've found that when I exercise i don't fancy that chocolate bar but salad!! the classes are`all fun Zumba is great and also aerobics so easy to stick to.
Also I've stopped buying cakes and sweets and eat pears and apples of my trees so no cost and healthy.
i make up an easy salad for lunch at work - chopped up celery, cucumber, carrot and anything else to hand!! then at home throw a few nuts and chopped up apple/pear into plain yoghurt 55p for a large one at Sainsburys.
i treat myself as I enjoyed cream tea with a friend in a lovely village yesterday but felt I had earned a`treat.
good luck all and keep it up!! but don't beat yourself up if it goes wrong!!0 -
moonjelly welcome, hope you like our informal ways, lots of sucesses to spur you on and lots of support if its not going your way. Just ask if you need help.
See you all later, keep losing:)
Awww. Thanks for the welcome. Yesterday I had a large-ish supper. We took our our nephew who was staying with us and now has gone back to uni in Scotland. It was mostly fish, a few chips (very few!) and hummus. I woke up 2lbs heavier and I freaked out
But now I am back on the straight and narrow as I don't anticipate any more meals out until payday. A friend was kind enough to give me an exercise video (latin music) that came with a box of ceral (don't ask me which because I truly don't know). The video looks silly but probably more effective than not moving at all so I'll give it a go.
I have to say that I came off the liquid stuff for two main reasons: 1-I truly cannot afford the stuff anymore; and, 2-My mum lost weight doing it the all fashioned way and she kept it off forever. She is the one that inspired me to try to do it slowly and carefully. She said with the money I'll save I can treat myself to new clothes when the weight comes off!..............................................................................

TA not hi-jacking at all, if we can't talk about anything but food on the odd occasion it wouldn't be the friendly and supportive forum it is
. IN I stopped 4 1/2 years ago when I got copd, and my teeth had never been so clean! Brushing them took away a bit of the craving, as did sipping really cold water. I also read Paul McK's book, that really helped. I passed it on via freecycle and to my knowledge it's helped a couple of others to date.
However, I'm procrastinating, because I have an admission. Yesterday I visited a new (to me) shop and they had carrot bar cake for 99p
. Got home, DNeighbour came round for a cuppa, we both had a rather generous slice
.
Back to today -
B - 2 slices wm toast with marmalade
L - [STRIKE]Tomato and basil slim soup[/STRIKE] prawn salad
D - [STRIKE]Veg curry, basmati rice[/STRIKE] mini panini with 1oz Wyke low fat cheese
Snacks - melon, mineola, maybe a mini cornetto this evening. Fruit bowl is empty yet again!
Exercise - will do a bit more gardening when I get back from meeting friends for lunch
Happy Sunday0 -
Afternoon All,
Well, weigh in day today and I've stayed the same again! It's not surprising really as I have been eating a lot more than 1100 calories a day, which I need to stick to if I am going to reach target. With that in mind, I'd like to join your Christmas Challenge after all RAGZ and aim for a loss of 6lb which would get me down to 8st 6lb. That's only 1/2lb per week so I really ought to be able to manage that!
B: Milky coffee
L: Cheese, tomatoes and garlic on 1 slice toast. Pear. HM Sultana and oat slice.Roast chicken, HM stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, green beans, cabbage, peas (no roast potatoes though I shall cook them for everyone else). Maybe Greek yoghurt for dessert.
Exercise: 20 minutes of Shred - which I did extra vigorously this morning to try to boost my calorie burning. 2 miles of walking so far - delivering promotional materials for work. I may manage another walk later with dog walking friend.

Afternoon all.
I've been away from the forum for a couple of days as my sister's been staying with me: she suffers from a recurrent eating disorder so I have to make a big show of eating or she'll sometimes use it as an excuse to refuse to eat anything at all.On the plus side, we did quite a lot of walking so I hope I haven't done too much damage.
Today goes:
Brunch - HM bread with butter and smoked salmon
Snack - small pack of chilli rice crackers; glass of fruit juice
Dinner - mushroom and spinach stroganoff (easy on the cream) with either oven chips, pasta or brown rice
Plus a couple of drinks at the pub quiz tonight, no doubt.
Exercise - a walk up to the shops, and back carrying a very heavy bag of cat litter - it would have been easier to take the car but it's got a flat tyre, which at least made me walk!
Ida - the very best of luck to you with quitting the cigarettes - you can do it!Back after a very long break!0 -
Morning everybody and welcome to the newbies. Up bright and early this morning, awaiting the arrival of the 3DGDs for the day. The eldest to take to school and then the other two to keep entertained and out of mischief! Thought a run to Skipton (Market Day), a picnic (or take-away) lunch - weather permitting - by the canal dock and then a walk along the canal bank (doing a detour into the park along the way).
Dare I say, I think I am back on the straight and narrow! Yesterday's eats came in at under 1,200 cals:
B - Porridge & rasps (yes, again!)
L - Quorn turkey style escalope, LF cauli cheese, carrots & peas. Mini banana, FF vanilla yogurt.
D - Cheats Pizza with salad. Meringue nest, mixed berries & WW fromage frais.
S - 2 crackerbreads & LF Laughing Cow. Few grapes, satsuma and nectarine and NO WINE!!
Happy Monday everybody."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
