Recurring problems with my eldest son and the funding for my operation has been declined. It has now been sent for consideration by a higher authority (higher than God it seems and im not being blasphemous).
Just noticed this (attention span of a goldfish, sorry). My mum had funding for an operation declined in January, even though her condition impacts quite negatively on her quality of life and will eventually cost the NHS substantially more when they have to resolve it (which they will) rather than if they just sort it out now. Anyway, her case has been bouncing about from one higher authority to the next all year, and although she has not got a date yet she has just been told that her operation will be funded after all, so there is hope that all the messing about you are being put though now will not be in vain and funding will be made available, even if it does take a bit of time xxFreddie Starr Ate My Signature

Can I please join in...?
I am new to this forum. I have been on a liquid diet -and yes, it has worked. However it is far too expensive and I'd rather use the money to pay off debts.
So I am here to learn about old fashioned weight loss. I used to be 64kg. I followed a diet and went down to 61kg. Then I followed this liquid diet for the past two weeks. Right now I am 58.4kg. I'd like to make it to 50-51kg.
I am hoping to go for small portions instead of counting calories, which didn't work in the past. But we'll see...............................................................................

Well the less said about yesterdya the better, I don't know what went wrong but I just got on the wrong track and could not get off, funny though that when I finaly gave in to the crisps I had wanted all along, the snacking stopped.
Molly41 Hope you get the funding soon, we have a friend who was told "we can't afford your op, you have to stop work" which he did and of course he no longer pays taxes and claims various benefits instead. They could pay for his op with the benefits and taxes but it doesn't work like that...how stupid they don't take into account the economics.
Ida, keep hacking away at the weight and the ciggies, every pound lost or cigarete declined will help with your op, even though its not long off...... think of it as soon be over!
lovetopaint I agree its so easy when you are in the zone and so hard to get back to it when it goes wrong.
moonjelly welcome, hope you like our informal ways, lots of sucesses to spur you on and lots of support if its not going your way. Just ask if you need help.
See you all later, keep losing:)"doing the best you enjoy, not the best you can tolerate, is truly the best you can do sustainably."0 -

Oh thank you for letting me know as it has given me hope. I wish your mum well with her operation and that it happens asap.
Well food wise i have had some home made soup (leek and mushroom ) with lots of yummy seeded bread. I am now very full so will probably just have a yogurt later xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Evening All
I've had a bit of a bread heavy day today so hope it doesn't have a negative effect on the weight loss.
B: 2 slices of toast with raspberry jam.
L: 2 ham and pickled onion sandwiches with HG cherry tomatoes.
S: Small piece of HM fruit cakeSpinach and feta filo pastry (HG spinach). HG strawberries
Exercise: 2 hours of Pilates classes. 2 miles of walking back and forth to feed DS's cats, exercise class etc. 1 hour on my hands and knees giving our kitchen and bathroom floors a super duper clean.

Hello again everyone!
RoseLove the sound of feta and cheese parcels, will give those a try!
Moonjelly Welcome to you, I just joined recently and have found it helpful to get ideas and lovely support on here
LazyLiz I know just what you mean: sometimes it is worth having what you fancy!
Ida Well done on your loss and hope all goes well inc the smoking!
Pleased to say I lost 2 1/2lb this week! I celebrated by eating 2 pieces of chocolate and 3 small shortbreads so thought I'd better post before I go any wilder!!
B: muesli
s: mini magnum
l: chicken sandwich, tangerine,
s: youghurt, banana, honey, 2 pieces choc, 3 small shortbreads
d: tuna pasta, ice cream.
I just got a pedometer, now done 9100 steps which included an exercise class. Yesterday I went for a lovely walk on the beach, got to make the most of the lovely sun!0 -
Well, I've managed to stick to the plot (loosely, admittedly!). Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, but as for today...
Food:
Breakfast: Two pieces toast, cheese triangle
Dinner: Prawn curry and rice ready meal, tablespoon lime chutney
Snack: Half a bowl of grapes
Tea: Tinned meatballs, mash, cauliflower, green beans, sweetcorn, gravy
Snack: Alpen Light chocolate and fudge bar
Exercise:
The bi-weekly shop at Asda (also known as the 'buy weakly' shop, once you've seen some of the prices).
Weight lifting (multipacks of long life milk were on offer. The walk home seemed twice as long!)
I was going to do some yoga tonight, but husband has kindly dumped a load of junk (erm... quality goods, I mean) in here for me to eBay. Space is at a premium in this place to say the least, so I ended up doing some very vertical bends and stretches instead. I gave up after ten minutes when I almost stuck my elbow through the window, but it's a start, and better than nowt
Got to run now (metaphorically!), but welcome to today's newcomers and congrats to todays losersFreddie Starr Ate My Signature

Well...I looked at my nails last night and they were in tip top condition...
...so I ate 2 packets of crisps, some salted peanuts and a slice of toast with jam.
I think one cup of cooked rice with my dinner, left me hungry and then I made some poor choices.NOT good enough.
My exercising is going well this week. Have a good weekend everyone.
Ida, glad the 'no posting until exercised' rule appeals. It is working for me at the moment!Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0 -
Have lost 1/2 a lb, last week I lost 2 but I'm only aiming for 1 a week so I guess it evens out...
Anniethequeen Very well done to you, you're making a great start!
Ida Mind the elbows
Well I swum 60 lengths last night so I had a glass of wine, glass of cider, few squares of chocolate and a small bowl of leftovers... oops.
Today
Breakfast - 2 Crumpets, spread and marmalade at 7.30am. Then another about 10am. That's what happens if I eat breakfast early! I end up needing two!
Bowl of Jelly. It jumped out of the fridge at me, serves me right now I'll have no pudding tonight!
Lunch - Bowl of HM chicken soup....mmmm and low fat.
Dinner - whoopsied co-op chicken breast wrapped in bacon and cheese (rather high fat but they were only £1.20. Tiny so DH will need something else too) with Boxing Day bubble and squeak (from freezer), veg and gravy.
Accidentaly baked a banana and weetabix loaf. Fat free almost but still... I will have to give some away or I'll eat it all!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
