    Morning all :)
Overslept really badly this morning, only managed a 1 minute dash round the kitchen to collect bits for my lunch so having a weird selection of stuff :o

    Today's meals
Breakfast: no time, glass of ss milk
Lunch: fruit corner yoghurt, granola bar, apple, clementine
Dinner: no idea, will have to see what's quickly defrostable when I get home :o

Exercise: shoe shopping with a friend after work and then swimming, if my ankle holds up. felt ok this morning, but when I sat down at my desk I twisted it and it's started hurting again :(

    Morning all.

Weigh day for me today and it looks like the great score from earlier in the week was a blip - I've lost 300g (just over 1/2lb), which isn't nearly as good as I'd hoped. :( I really need to get my rear in gear - I've had several evenings this week where I've over-eaten at dinner (including last night, where I could have got away with half as many chips :o) and can't seem to find any real enthusiasm for exercise, even walking which I usually enjoy.

    Today goes:

B - two crusty white rolls with butter and peanut butter (and that really isn't going to help - I didn't even particularly enjoy it :()
    S - nectarine
L - some sort of salad - I'll have to buy something at lunchtime
    S - apple
D - beans and veg in a spicy sauce on toast; maybe fruit and LF yoghurt afterwards if I fancy something sweet

Exercise - a good, brisk walk at lunchtime, and no excuses! ;)
Back after a very long break!

Just about to read back. I have not abandoned you all in the weight loss quest but life has been very busy and Im feeling quite down at the moment :( Recurring problems with my eldest son and the funding for my operation has been declined. It has now been sent for consideration by a higher authority (higher than God it seems and im not being blasphemous). Anyway this has all played havoc with my eating and i have made absolutely no inroads into my 14 lb challenge although I do plan to keep on trying. I am having a very quiet day today and will aim to get back on track !!!

Sending you all positive weight loss vibes x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

CCP - 0.5lb is better than a gain! Even that means you had a deficit of at least 1750cal last week, so you're not doing too bad. Just, like you said, have smaller dinenrs and a bit more exercise and you've cracked it.
Molly41 - Sorry you're having a rough time, it's always harder to stay on track when you're down. Keep at it though, you'll thank yourself in the long run. Just remember to go easy on yourself when you do slip up.

Did all the yoga on the Wii fit last night, over half an hour and I certainly felt in afterwards. Only burned 110cal but better than sitting on the sofa! Will be swimming tonight so I'll need to eat a bit more today.
    Have a good day everyone!

  • Hello everyone and those returning :).

When I am feeling happy, healthy eating and exercise seem so easy I wonder why I struggle. When I am feeling down, it is as if a brick wall is right before me, and I feel like I cannot move forward.

I am gradually learning to manage this through regular sleep, staying on top of things etc. so the lows do not last as long as they used to (in fact days rather than weeks). As I think Opra once said, I don't have a weight issue, I have a self-care issue.

My rule for not posting until having exercised is working well so far, really hoping to move off this vast plateau and loose by Monday!

    Keep chin up everyone :)
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

    Morning everyone,

Managed over 30 mins on the Wii last night, did 6 songs on the Just Dance 2 and 20 mins on the 2 lots of step ups and lost 100+ calories on that alone.

    Food today will be better;

B - Crunchy Nut Cornflakes with s/s milk and 2 x fruit tea
    S - None
L - Banana sandwich (wm bread) lf yoghurt
    S - 1 x caramel snack a jack
T - Jacket Potato with cottage cheese and salad

Exercise: At least 45 mins on the wii fit today despite my arms and calves hurting lol!

I have decided that Friday is weigh in day, so fingers crossed I might have lost a lb or so since last week........

Good morning all, well done to all losers and tryers. Weigh day today, lost 1lb!, I'm amazed that at last I seem to be moving off that plateau (though won't raise my hopes too much, it could be just a blip).

B - Health (?) bar. The calorific value may be okay but the fat/sugar contents are . However lovely neighbour who had my scones gave them to me, they have to be better for me. Don't they?
L- Don't know yet as out with a friend but as she's trying to lose weight too I expect it will be something healthily nice, cos she's an excellent cook
D - Hm veg curry with a sponful of pilau rice. Not a rice lover but I found it when I was having a clear out and it has to be used up. Waste not want not...
Snacks - melon, banana, nectarine. Will try to stay off the mini cornetto :o

Exercise - does shivering count? The friend I'm visiting is having her windows changed today so told me to wear something warm :)
  • Apologies for my presence being a bit thin on the ground recently. It's been the weirdest week, and although it has been mostly good stuff (thanks, Lady Luck and David Dickinson :) ) my head is all over the place as a result. Since last posting I have lost a pound and three quarters. These fractions are great for motivation, but I will understand if this only earns me one smiley badge :D

During a hospital appointment yesterday the consultant told me that I will have to have an operation as a day case under general anaesthetic. I have been half expecting this for a bit and so was not all that fazed by it, until he looked up from his notes and said casually '...and we can fit this in on October the 4th' Yikes.

After this I was duly weighed and measured etc by the nurse. I have always known that I don't look as heavy as what I am (even when I was a kid and looked like a string of cotton the school nurse told my mum she could not believe how much weight I was actually carrying) and so I was ready for yesterday's nurse to find a bit more than she was expecting. However, I could have done without her letting out her breath in surprise as the number rose... and rose... I didn't know anyone had that much breath in them. I was beginning to think she had a slow puncture :)

Needless to say, I'm firmly back on the wagon after yesterday's news and am hoping at least to lose the five and a half pounds that put me above normal BMI before the op. This is do-able I think, but it's complicated a bit because I'm trying (and so far failing!) to cut down on smoking a bit too as I don't exactly respond well to general anaesthetic and am hoping to make the aftermath a bit easier than last time.

I am also going to up the exercise a bit. Okay, you can stop laughing at the back - I'm going to actually start doing some exercise :rotfl:Every little bit of motivation helps, and I really like lovetopaint's idea of not posting until after some exercise is done and so I am pinching it forthwith :) Thanks for that one, lovetopaint. For some reason I feel as stiff as a plank today, but if I can manage to bend in the middle without necessitating emergency treatment for woodworm then you'll all be hearing from me later. Take care xx
