    Morning all.

I was a little naughty this morning and stepped on the scales, despite everything I keep saying about only weighing myself once a week. The weight given was 32.5kg, then 114.7kg, then Err kg. I must go and look up the MSE guide to returning faulty goods in a moment. ;)

    Today for me:

B - nothing. :o Bad of me, I know, but I couldn't summon up any enthusiasm for eating this morning. (I'd never thought of antibiotics as a weight loss aid but these are doing the trick wonderfully - they're leaving such an unpleasant taste in my mouth that it's killing any desire for food. :()
S - pack of mixed dried fruit
L - cream cheese and red pepper roll; LF strawberry yoghurt (it was actually a raspberry one, but never mind! ;))
S - small sausage roll (left over from a work function - I'm impressed with myself that I only ate one as I will usually continue to eat sausage rolls until they're all gone :o); nectarine
D - [STRIKE]small portion of pasta with tomato, chard and prawn sauce[/STRIKE] spicy beans on cheesey toast - not too unhealthy as long as I use a limited amount of cheese :o;)

Exercise - hopefully a walk at lunchtime but it's raining again so this may get abandoned. :(

empy - welcome to the thread!

Lazy Liz - I hope your DH feels better soon.
Back after a very long break!

Well I lost a pound but have had to revise my goal as I'm not going to lose a stone in 4 weeks and I wouldn't even try! but half a stone is still doable.

I don't usualy post my meals as breakfast is always the same, shredded wheat with ss milk and an Actimel drink, then a sandwich made of 2 slice HM wholemeal bread with ham, cheese or similar and two pieces of fruit for lunch, then a banana on 2 x mixed seed grain Ryvita snack. My evening meal is where I like to ring the changes but I have been known to eat the same thing two nights running. I love my food but don't feel the need to change my breakfast or lunch very much. Its why I find diets almost imposible, all that messing around with different breakfasts and lunches that aren't sandwiches (I like bread and reckon 2 slices per day of good HM wholemeal bread is healthy.) The weight problems come from with too large portions of evening meals, snacks and the damage done at the weekend:o

    Afternoon all.

I got taken out to lunch by DH today but our accommodating local cafe owner was quite happy to give me one egg and half a portion of chips instead of the double egg and chips on the menu.

B: Raspberries with low fat vanilla yoghurt.
    L: Egg and chips, Coke.
    S: 5 dates.
D: Homemade vegetable bake - includes garlic, onion, cauliflower, mushrooms, pepper, home grown green beans, home made pesto and creme fraiche topped with grated cheese.
I've also had 2 very small skimmed milk coffees. I love milky coffee so make it in an espresso sized cup which means a coffee is about 40 calories.

If I am hungry later I might have a kiwi fruit.

Exercise today has been a 6 mile walk and a stroll up to the local cafe and PO so about 7 miles in total. Oh and I also did 20 minutes of my Jillian Michaels DVD and moved up to Level 2 which had me puffing and panting.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

  • Hi
Just found this thread and wondered if I could join as its a great idea. I have a good 5 stone to lose :( and having tried every diet club going have decided I am just going to watch my portion size and cook from scratch. 3 meals a day and fruit in between if need be .. hoping it will get me on the road to being much slimmer before my 50th in March.
  • :TThank you SP44 for posting your pictures. Went to thank you earlier and your post had disappeared (good job I'd bookmarked it!)

I would love to print off the 100lbs picture and put it on my fridge for those moments when temptation arises, hope that's ok with you.

    Thanks again

  • Hi SpendlessKaren, I'll join you if you like in trying to lose weight. I too have been cutting down on portion sizes. I'm using the Diet Plate (which is quite expensive really) but basically the idea is very good in that it divides your meal into different size sections: approximately half your plate should be covered with vegetables (not including potatoes) or salad; in the remaining half:- one quarter is protein - fish/chicken/meat/egg etc., with the remaining quarter of the plate as carbohydrates - rice/pasta/potatoes etc. Your food must not go over your 'imaginary line' which is around the inner edge (where the rim starts!).
Hope I've explained that ok and that it helps.
    Good luck.:)

Ty for your reply. It actually reminded me that I have a diet plate in the cupboard lol and will dig it out. I also have a diet bowl which is tiny but that will get an airing too.

Almost a normal day for food, I knew having DM here would encourage me :o

B Boiled egg, 1/2 slice toasted soldiers, 1/2 slice toast/marmalade
L Carvery - beef, Yorkshire, peas, sweetcorn, cauli, 1 potato
T doughnut with scoop lf ice cream
    Snax grapes, nectarine, banana

DM always asks for a childs portion as she eats so little, fortunately many restaurants now do more than fish fingers and baked beans so she's able to choose something tasty without wasting half her meal, or they'll just give her a tiny portion of whatever is on the main menu.

If my daughter served her 3 children fish fingers and baked beans they'd think she'd lost it! Good to know there are still young parents who cook from scratch :)
