Try entering your food diary into Calorie Count to see a picture of the calories and nutrients you get from what you eat. You may be surprised by how much you can have. (If you enter your weight and goal the site will give you target calories for a day) If you aren't eating enough, your BMR will SLOW down so you'll stop losing weight. You seem to have a lot of fruit snacks, which is good but that's a lot of quick release glucose that'll give you a high then a dip, could you maybe have a cracker/ryevita/cereal bar/handful of nuts with the fruit to slow the sugar down? More protein would be good too. Don't be scared of potatoes, a serving should be around 200g. Carbs are essential!

I too struggle with finding foods for breakfast and lunch that AREN'T BREAD! This week I've had tuna wraps and soup (not together) as a few of my lunches. I don't have time to cook anything fancy as I have a small pink naughty one at home! Summer hols will be even worse, all 3 kids home for lunch... need to branch out from sandwiches!

Weighed this morning 171.8 (yesterday 171.2 but that was because of wine drank the night before... dehydration). Hope to get out for a run this morning, depends when Dh gets up and whether DS2's temp has gone down a bit, was 39.9 last night.

Thank you again for your comments/suggestions. I do eat a lot of fruit, mainly because I love it, and because for several years I wasn't able to afford much so I'm clearly going over top with it :o. I have my DM staying for a week now so 'proper' meals are the order of the day and hopefully the start of much more sensible menus

    B - F&F
L - ate out as celebrating my b/day which is tomorrow (Mon) so a real blow out! Starter of baked Camembert, thenPaprika chicken, bowl of salad, few chips, and a waffle with bananas and toffee sauce to finish. So not sensible but a once a year treat and it was super :D
    T - I really couldn't!
  • Morning all. Belated greetings for yesterday Ida Notion and Happy Birthday today sparrer and have a lovely week with your DM. Well my plan for yesterday fell apart at the seams! Ended up at DD's for the day eating anything and everything edible! We should have had a week free of the small people this week but, somehow, I ended up offering to take the middle one of the DGD's to the caravan with us. That puts paid to any long walks we had planned but should involve lots of kick-arounds with a football, cricket, etc! I will try to stick to a sensible eating plan but may find it hard when I am preparing such delights as cheesy pasta, pizza, fish fingers & chips, mini sausage & beans etc!!! Nonetheless my usual supply of healthy provisions will be going with me, hopefully along with some much needed willpower!

To join in your "debate" on fruit sparrer and ragz. I too eat lots of fruit (perhaps too much?) but I have a sweet tooth and I just think it's preferable to stuffing myself with sweeties, biscuits and chocolate! As that is what put the weight on in the first place - I used them as a substitute for ciggies! If I had eaten more fruit then, instead of sweeties etc, then I may not have piled the weight on that I did!!

Have a good week everybody and see you Friday!

Morning all, and happy birthday sparrer!

    My plan for today:

B - small bowl of muesli with LF strawberry yoghurt
    S - apple
L - cheese and tomato sarnie on HM spelt bread (lots of tomato and only a small bit of grated cheese); mini pack of rice crackers
S - a piece of fruit - not sure what as I need to buy some at lunchtime (I'm another great fan of fruit - it's about the only sweet thing I like, as I don't have much of a sweet tooth)
D - veg and cashew nut noodle stir-fry

Exercise - I need to go to the shops to buy fruit, so I'll go the long way round to make it a decent length walk.

    Have a good day, all.
Back after a very long break!

Hi, I'd like to join in (again!) I used to post a couple of years ago but stopped. I've actually lost 3.5 stone since I started the latest weight loss campaign in January. I am only 5 foot tall and had gone up to 12.5 stone. I'm now down to 9 stone but want to reach my target of 8.5 stone. I thought posting daily might help keep me on the straight and narrow as the weight loss has started slowing down a bit. I cook from scratch and have been dieting by counting calories and upping the exercise. I am trying to stick to around 1200 calories a day and would rather do a bit more exercise than go any lower. We've been growing our own salad and vegetables this year in a tiny courtyard style garden and that has helped a lot, as has trying to eat something homegrown every day this month.

Today I have had 2 walks so far: one 8 and a half miles with my friend as we had lots of time. The second was just into town and back which is about two thirds of a mile. I shall also do another threequarters of a mile to work tonight, although I get a lift home as I don't finish till after 10. I normally do a Jillian Michaels DVD first thing but hadn't got round to it before my friend rang to suggest a walk.

Breakfast: Low fat vanilla yoghurt with oat bran. Small skimmed milk coffee.
Lunch: Homemade pancake stuffed with mushrooms, garlic and spinach and topped with cheese. Served with a mixed leaf, cucumber, tomato and pine nut salad.
    Snack: 5 dates.
Dinner: Not sure yet as I am not sure if I am working from 4 or from 5 so may have to take something with me.

Just had another quick walk into town as DH arrived home with a cheque that needed paying in so ran up to the bank and got it in before it closed at 3. Decided to have a couple of Ryvitas with peanut butter before I go out to work and then take some fruit in with me to nibble when we get a break.

poor DH came back from Italy with no voice and developed very bad cold over the weekend, I feel really sorry for him as this is not a case of man flu.
However, very exciting news, on Saturday DH dragged himself out of bed and we went to see a breeder of cocker spaniels, we expected to go on the wating list but he had a little boy puppy left from the most recent litter and we are going to have him. He's chocolate brown and we were calling him Harry, I can't wait until 14 Aug when he can come home with us:j:j:j

Don't know if I've lost any weight but started on a project ot using up the freezer contents so had fish with a chorizo crust on Saturday and made a venison caserol with cheese potato toping yesterday. Tonight is prawns in spicy sauce on pasta (only four more packets of prawns to go....special offers!) DH of to Ireland tomorrow so will be eating the things he doesn't like, kippers, lamb steaks etc. so a bit of an odd week.
