Good morning Jack_D - welcome to the thread! :hello:

I think we all have different approaches to meal planning and weighing - I don't think there's a standard way of doing things on this thread (or anywhere else on the OS board, tbh - forumites are an individual lot! ;)). I plan main meals a week in advance, as that's what I've found works for me on an OS level as well as a weightloss level. Other meals I don't generally plan - I post on here after I've eaten breakfast and made my packed lunch, which is how I know what I'm having for the whole day.

I try to weigh myself once a week as I've found weighing once a day is too depressing - my weight goes up and down so much during a week that daily weighing doesn't give me much of an idea of whether I'm actually getting anywhere!

I know there was a thread running a while ago on the cheapest way to get your 5 a day fruit and veg - it might be worth having a hunt for it if that's a particular problem for you.

That's a bit of an epic post so I'll stop there, but I hope some of the above waffling is helpful! :o

I could really do with some of those scales that can tell you if you've lost a bit of a pound! Tomorrow is my official weigh-in day but have been weighing myself daily using the wii fit and have been quite perturbed that I only seem to have lost 1lb this week after last week's brilliant start.
Also, DH has not been exercising at all and keeps having late night snacks and he lost 2 lbs in the past few days! I am pleased for him, but...:p

Well done to all the losers though :T

Hi Blimus - I got mine from Mr T's over a year ago in a half price sale for £6. think they still do them, they are glass with the function to do lbs/kgs/stones. PS I also have one of those irratating OH's who can lose more weight than me whilst eating more than me!

    Welcome to Newbies.

I did ok at my buffet meal last night with lower fat options but still managed to eat until I was uncomfortably full :o think I eat so fast that the food hasn't got to my tummy meaning I over eat.

Did badly overall yesterday as had a choc milkshake & tortilla crisps on top of plan (TOTM is coming up)

    TODAY:
    B: yogurt & apple
S: apple if I 'need' it
    L: sandwich
    S: crisps
D: might be omelette and chips not sure as yet

Change of plan for my lunch - my tummy's feeling a little less than happy after all that cream last night, and I really couldn't face fish for lunch. _pale_ I went and bought a ham and egg sarnie and a bottle of apple juice instead - not very OS, but at least I ate something (the other alternative was going without lunch, which would probably have left me in a heap on the office floor by mid-afternoon :o).

Change of plan for my lunch too! had a fajita wrap and packet of crisps...not the best option but i was worried more about cost than calories at time of chosing....oh well, will work out more later to make up for it!

    Hello everyone, welcome newbies.

I have started taking a daily multi-vit and mineral capsule, as have been so tired lately. Not sure if they will do anything :undecided , but will take them for the reccomended three months. Tiredness triggers me to eat for some reason, but I have resisted so far. Here's to the resistance!
Nice to come on here and read everyones posts.

Have a lovely healthy weekend :).
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

Not doing well this week, TOTM and I want to eat everything in sight... at least the choc chip brioche are gone now... I gave last one to the kids as a post brekkie treat to save myself from eating it... which would have been fine had I not bought a tub of choc cookie ice cream in the supermarket! Luckily the ice cream is rubbish and I only ate a bit!
Have kept up the running so I'm hoping to just STS rather than gain but I think that's wishful thinking!

Jack_D Welcome to the thread... it's kind of a Do It Your Own Way but Share philosophy on here lol, I personally would not recommend weighing daily, I did for the first three months but I found myself getting obsessed and it really doesn't give you a clear picture of your progress. Set yourself a day (mine is saturday morning) then weigh at the same time of day (preferably first thing in the morning) each week.
Meal plans are great especially if you can do things like make a batch of soup for lunches, then you know what you're having and won't succumb to the 'crisps and sandwich' or packet of biscuits etc... planning your meals for the week means you won't need ready meals or takeaways and you can balance your diet so it's okay to have pie or pizza one night a week as long as you've had healthy veg packed dinners the other nights...
planning is key and soup is great for weight loss!
Exercise! Especially if you only have 1 and a half stone to lose (about what I have left to go) you'll really need to up your exercise to shift the last bit as it gets harder. But you can do it, we all can!

Have lost a lb as of this morning, so better than nothing!

    b - HM banana smoothie
l - slice of pizza and chips ( was on an interview, and that was the only option! )
d - 2 fajita wraps with lots of salad

Mixed day, and didn't get the job, so definitely moving on to tomorrow.

bramble - I must admit I was intending to open a bottle to go with my dinner later - it looks like mysteriously-appearing glasses of wine are spreading! ;)
