Morning everybody! Well I am feeling pretty pleased with myself! I have just been on the scales for my weekly weigh-in and, despite being quite sinful this week, I have somehow managed to lose 1.5 lbs! At the start of the May Challenge 3 weeks ago I was dead on 10 stone (been stuck at that for 3 years since stopping smoking!!) This morning I was 9st. 9.5 lbs. That's 4.5 lbs lost. I know it's not a lot for 3 weeks (semi) dieting but it's the equivalent of 2 bags of sugar and I am happy with the slow and steady progress! I must be doing something right in amongst the wrong!

Week 2 here, and 3lbs gone! I've not been entirely committed either, and fell off the wagon a couple of times at the beginning of the week too. I could legitimately put it down to TOTM, but if I'm honest with myself there was a fair bit of apathy at play there. I don't know about you, but I'm feeling a bit more encouraged suddenly and less likely to give in to temptation. For the next couple of days, anyway :)

That's now 7.5lbs gone in total, leaving me at 12st 1.5lb. What was really exciting (I don't get out much!) was seeing the scale intermittently flash up eleven instead of twelve as it decided what figure it was going to settle on. It would be nice to be '11st something' for the first time in ages, and it suddenly does not seem that unlikely or even all that far away. I don't think I've let myself feel hungry once either.

It's really noticeable (to me at least) how much more food there seems to be around the place now. I must have been really packing it away. Staying aware of the choices I'm making seems to have made as much difference to me as the actual choices have - what appears to me to be a giant slip-up that needs compensating for is probably nothing at the side of what I was previously troughing without a second thought.

    Food today...

    Breakfast: none
Lunch: (mostly 'Oopsied' with Yellow Stickers for added flavour ;) ) Pork pieces in mushroom and onion gravy, green beans, broccoli and new potatoes.
Dinner/tea: not sure what yet, but it will probably involve fresh 'Oopsied' pineapple that wants eating up.
Snacks: anything from half a twix to half the kitchen, going by previous form, but I will be aware of the choice I make :)

    Exercise today...

Not a lot planned, if I'm honest. It will mostly involve housework and going through my wardrobe to eliminate undies so ancient and terrifying that even Gok Wan would be too scared to approach them for the benefit of shock TV. If I do not post again it was probably the aged and scandalous padded bra and thong set in 'Millenium Purple' that got me, and it was nice knowing you all...

Congratulations to the losers. Which is all of us - if not this week, then next :)

    Afternoon all.

Very well done to all the losers! :T

I've really been struggling with food for the last few days - I've had no appetite since I went out for dinner on Thursday and have had to force myself to eat anything at all. :( On the positive side, this must be doing wonders for my weightloss - I can't be putting on weight when I haven't eaten much for three days. (Cream sauce as a diet aid - who'da thunk it? ;))

    Today has been:

B - salmon salad with a drizzle of dressing (my lunch from Friday which I didn't eat and had to do something with before it went off)
    L - nothing
D - probably a bacon and tomato sandwich (the smell of cooking bacon is usually good for stimulating the appetite, I find :D); FF strawberry yoghurt with the last of the stewed blackberries (which need eating before they start fermenting )

I'm going out with friends tonight but don't intend drinking much, as it's never a good idea to drink on an empty stomach. ;)
Back after a very long break!

HI all, 1.5 lb loss for me this week even with a chinese lunch and some of a bottle of wine :D

That means 5.5lbs in two weeks and also means I'm now definitely below my sticking point :D

    Hi,
Hope you dont mind but Im going to start to post on this thread. I have put on about 11ibs since being poorly before xmas and am feeling quite podgy again. I dont do any exercise as Im quite disabled so must rely on healthy eating x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Hi all,
Not having a good few weeks! Since last time i posted think i've lost about 2lb but its better than nothing! Looks like my may challenge will not be entirely successful. However, no excuses, i've been super lazy and only done a little exercise. STS this week but better than putting on!

Determined to gt below 11 st this week as i have never seen the 10 stone something numbers on my scale all my adult life!

Wish me luck...super light thoughts for you all :)

Evening all - went slightly off track this weekend, but did well in terms of exercise yesterday - today...not so much. But aim to go on the exercise bike tomorrow am for 20 mins.

    Eating hasn't been great today...
    Garlic ciabatta
2 x slices HM bread and butter
1 x pork escalope coated in breadcrumbs and parmesan, with ham and cheese potato bake and veggies
1 x rice krispie cake thingy (OH is currently eating the TIN - wouldn't even let me get it out the baking tray....think i will need to make more tomorrow!)

Not too bad, but not great. Should have had more fruit less carbs, but hey ho.

Welcome Molly41 . Well done all the Losers ;), keep it up everyone, it'll happen if you do :)

    B - F&F, grapefruit juice, tea

D - pork loin, hm oven wedges (tried the frylight in the oven tray and it worked, strange, I don't know why it's rubbish in the frying pan ), broad beans, leeks, chicken gravy

Tea - chicken sandwich on WW wholemeal Danish

Snax - grapes, pear, apple, banana, 2 Anzac biscuits found in the cupboard. Well in fact I found 4 but restrained myself. Til tomorrow, maybe...:o

Exercise - was going into the garden to do some pruning but it was so windy it took my breath away, so had a sewing day. My fingers will be lovely and slim :rotfl:

    Hello everyone

Can I join you? I started a new job a couple of months ago and I don't know whether it's cos I'm tired a lot but I can't stop stuffing my face in the evening!!!

I really want to get about a stone and a half off as I went shopping for clothes recently and thought urgh!!

Anyone any tips for my evening snacking habits? I do cross stitch to keep my hands busy but still manage to eat :)

Also, anyone any ideas for breakfasts I can take to work in a tupperware box as I never seem to have time in the morning and end up having a muesli bar or apple and then start scoffing biscuits a few hours later !! I'm going to get up earlier tomorrow and make me and my ds porridge for breakfast.

    Cheers
    JM
