    Hi All

Do you mind if I hop aboard?
I'm the stereo typical yoyo dieter and have been for years. My usual pattern is to lose a stone....feel great...live a little...and put a stone and a half back on!! My latest attempt to change my eating habits started at the end of Feb and so far I've only managed to shift 6lb :(. My plan is to loose another stone and then to try and keep the weight off!!

    Today I've had:

B - Porridge made with water and skimmed milk & a tiny sprinkle of brown sugar (half a teaspoon)
L - 4 Ryvita with marmite and cucumber
D - 2 x grilled chicken pieces (breaded) with salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, peppers teaspoon of low calorie salad cream)

Exercise - absolutely none...and there within lies a problem, my job requires me to sit on my backside if front of a computer most days and I have absolutely no motivation what so ever to walk, jog, cycle, swim, dance or anything else that vaguely resembles any form of physical exertion...I know this has to change!!

My other big problem is that I am constantly ravenous and think of nothing but food all day. I'm a lost case!!

Ooops sorry for the long post...I'll try not to ramble on too much next time ;)

You're right. I'm 46 too (47 in July). My 22 and 21 year old lads have left home, although both make regular periodic visits to empty the fridge (the eldest in particular seems to know what I've got in better than I do before he even gets here!). I've also got an 18 year old daughter at college (she's the bone idle one - getting her out of bed on a morning takes multiple attempts and is probably the most dreaded part of my day!) and an eight year old daughter who was a total surprise to us all when I found out I was expecting her, but who I can't imagine life without now.

We should all be like twigs with all these kids to run round after :)

    PS - welcome, May!

    hi all,

Congrats Ida on being debt free!!! I'm still working on that one!

Well I suppose it has been a whole 4 months without a row like this so he must have been brewing lots of male PMT

Anyway been to the memorial (funeral) service and eaten cake :p

Just debating where I shall go for the day tomorrow (with no money) and whether I shall be back to cook him any dinner or not.....

ida notion - congrats on becoming debt free!! I can't wait for it to be me one day!

I have been okay today...not great. Breakfast and lunch went to plan, then i stopped at my mums to water her plants (and use her power shower) as she's away, and ate a chocolate digestive, and 2 teaspoons of peanut butter (WHY?! - i don't keep it in my house for that reason, i love it too much, atleast 5lbs of my extra padding is down to peanut butter alone....) Came home and dinner we had piri piri chicken and chips.

I have a bowl thats slightly bigger than a cereal bowl, but smaller than a normal sized dinner plate, and i eat all my meals out of that now just to try and control portion sizes.

Not done any exercise like i had planned....tomorrow!

Many thanks for your warm welcome x
Today has not been easy food wise as I have felt poorly and so had to take anti sickness medication. It actually helps to eat (rather strangely) so I have been nibbling on bits all day. So no set meal times -
    Today I have had -
    1 biscuit
3 snack rolls with ham, chicken and egg,
    1 creme caramel
10 tortillas with left over chilli and cheese as nachos
    1 muller yogurt

    Copious amounts of tea.

Ummmm when I write it down it doesnt seem much but it felt like i was eating all day. Hopefully I will eat at set times tomorrow and get some fresh fruit/veg on board. This is not a usual day.

Well done to all those who have lost and keep on plodding xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

evening all. i am still lurking but have felt a bit un-motivated to post. its a bit ridiculous of me, when i am doing well i can happily post all day but when i'm shovelling my greedy cake hole (as i have been :o) i cant bring myself to post - doh!

well, back on track - again! i cant see me making the 7 in may challenge though. i havent WI for the last 2 weeks, silly of me but i know i will have put on. i want to feel like i have a chance of loosing what i have put back on before i weigh. wow, i am rambling.

welcome to the newbies and :j:jto the loosers, everyone seems to be really putting in the effort at the minute :D

    well today has been:

    2 x wm toast

asparagus & mushroom in hollendaise sauce with some pot wedges :o (this was gorgeous but hideously rich and fattening)

1 wrap with loads of salad and low fat hoummus. bag of 80cal crisps.

snacks: 1 very small pice of plain b'day cake and 1 glass of wine

not great but certainly better than the weekend. i did manage to swim 1km yesterday and aim to do the same tomorrow.

    the plan for tomorrow is:
    2 x wm toast

wrap with LF hoummus and lots of salad

somthing with a lot of hm, LF coleslaw and salad

    night night x

right, here we go. i braved the scales this morning and i have managed to put on 3lb from when i started  thats 5lb from 2 weeks ago :eek::eek::eek::eek: i am hoping that some of this is water retention and can be gone within a few day (thats usual for me) but if this isnt the kick i need then i dont know what is :o:o i am really not happy but at least i know i can do somthing about it.

the key for me is posting on here. 2 years ago i lost 3 stone (have kept over 2 off) and that was mainly due to posting daily on here.

    i have to do this.

    vicky xx

    Morning all.

Molly - I hope you're feeling better today.

newlywed - hugs to you. Have a very pleasant day, whatever you decide to do with it. ;)

I spent much of this morning struggling against the temptation to step on the scales, which would be against my new resolution to weigh myself once weekly. It's TOTM so the weight probably wouldn't be accurate - I know this but still wanted to 'just have a look'. I'm now at work so the temptation's gone for this morning, at least!

    Today for me:

B - small bowl of porridge made with skimmed milk, with stewed rhubarb (actually a very small bowl of porridge as it boiled over and I didn't have time to make more :o)
    S - banana
L - chorizo and bean stew (LO from the weekend); FF strawberry yoghurt
    S - (if I need it) pear
D - bacon and asparagus caesar salad with garlic bread (the caesar dressing is HM with FF yoghurt to make it healthier; the garlic bread is... umm... not, but I'll only eat half so it's only half as unhealthy ;))

Exercise - I've got to walk up to the shops to collect a parcel at lunchtime, and intend to try for a half hour or so walk after work as well.

    Have a good day, all.
Back after a very long break!
