What i can have for breakfast thats as filling as porridge but cold??? I can't really stomach hot stuff in the summer but nothing fills you up like a bowl of porridge in the morning!
I have burnt so many calories today. Trying to not drink tonight so i don't undo all my hard work .

I soak 25g porridge oats (I like jumbo oats) in a little water overnight and a squeeze of lemon juice. In morning I mix it with half a chopped apple (chopped in small whizzy but could be grated) and about 3 tablespoons of natural yogurt.
Soaking the oats makes it creamier and sweeter as enzymes work on it.
I love it like that but you can add seeds, nuts or other fruit if you want
I think you can make it up and store in fridge for a few days but I prefer to make it each morning.0 -

Evening all.
I started my new voluntary job today and spent most of the day on my feet, shifting plants, display stands and watering cans - that must have burnt a few calories!
Today's menu was:
B - peanut butter and banana sandwich on HM seedy WM bread
S - handful of cherry tomatoes; portion of dried fruit and nuts (I wasn't really hungry but thought I'd better eat something)
D - chorizo and bean chilli with the last of my HM bread
I'm currently drinking a glass of cider (well earned, I think!) and may have a glass of wine later, too.
Kleopatra - thanks for that recipe for Bircher muesli - it sounds really interesting and I intend to try it next week. :TBack after a very long break!0 -

Breakfast - 2 ryevita with marmite and soft cheese
Snack - Nectartine and another ryevita with same
Lunch - Bacon, cheese and salad tortilla wrap
Dinner - crispy aromatic duck pancakes (homemade) X5
Pudding - Ben and Jerry's Ice cream (half frozen yog half full fat with fish!)

bramble I was going to suggest fruit'n'fibre which is quite filling but like Kleopatras muesli idea too. I've got the ingredients, think I'll make some up this evening
B - 2 lean back rashers, tomato, mushroom, slice WW Danish. Grapefruit juice
L - Mr M Chinese meal for 2 reduced from £6+ to £2.49. Thought it would do me 4 meals, put 1/4 on a plate and had 2 mouthfuls. Now I know why it was reduced _pale_. Rhubarb Muller
S - salad, prawns. 1/4 melon,
Snax - grapes, apple, banana, Snack-a-Jack creamcheese with chives. Neighbours DD gave me one over the garden fence this morning and I really liked it so bought a pack while I was out shopping. A bit high in fat (8%) but thought I'd just have a few a day to make a change from fruit.
Exercise - mowed the lawn, all 10'x16' of it! Takes longer to clean the mower afterwards than than it does to cut the grass

Morning everybody! Well I am feeling pretty pleased with myself! I have just been on the scales for my weekly weigh-in and, despite being quite sinful this week, I have somehow managed to lose 1.5 lbs! At the start of the May Challenge 3 weeks ago I was dead on 10 stone (been stuck at that for 3 years since stopping smoking!!) This morning I was 9st. 9.5 lbs. That's 4.5 lbs lost. I know it's not a lot for 3 weeks (semi) dieting but it's the equivalent of 2 bags of sugar and I am happy with the slow and steady progress! I must be doing something right in amongst the wrong!!
Today's menu:
B - Porridge with mixed berry compote (it's what I find most filling so I tend to have it most days)
L - Jacket potato with prawns and a big salad. WW fruit fromage frais.
D - ?? Promised OH I'd make a curry but in view of weight loss I shall have something less fattening myself!!
Snacks to be grapes, satsumas or mini banana.
Gardening planned for today (weather permitting) so if I attack the weeds with gusto it should be good exercise!

TravellingAbuela (love the name btw) congtrats on the weight loss,
i would rather lose slowly and keep the weight off than pile it all on again, which is what happened to me before on the last diet i went on, i barely ate anything and took laxatives to shift even more, which was super stupid, i lost four stones really quickly, but of course i couldnt sustain and it crept back on again - but now i'm older and wiser thankfully, which is just as well as its coming off slowly this time, and i will get there eventually,0
