Morning Losers!! I mean that in the nicest possible way :)

    Br - toast, cuppa tea
Sn - oaty bar thing - nice 'Natural' ones this time, not horrid sugary efforts which I had recently
Lu - no idea, not organised, but have a pear in my bag for the time being
D - no idea, OH cooking cos we're off out tonight to see John Bishop

need to do a bit of shopping methinks

Exercise - not much, due to being disorganised was late so had to get 2 busses, rather than the 20 min walk followed by a bus

When I say 20 min walk followed by a bus, I mean I walk for 20 mins then get a bus, not walk for 20 mins with a bus following me IYSWIM :rotfl:

Tuesday (when I 'will' be more organised)

Br - crunchy strawberry museli stuff from Lidldediddlededees - very nice indeed, with milk
    Sn - bnananan
lu - Ham salad sarnie (or roll, depends what I get when I go shopping)
    sn - yog
    D - sausages,mash & onion gravy

Exercise - 2o mins in the morning (with added bus stalker), 30 mins lunchtime, 20 mins after work

    :)

Congrats to all who have lost this week :)

Sparrer, I just buy sheesley at our local health shop.

Julie, Well done on your 3lb loss! 1 or 2lbs per week is the usually recommended sustainable weigh loss, so please don't be dreadfully disappointed if you don't lose more than that every week x

    Yesterday
B: 1 bought oat cake with smear of peanut butter before swimming.
After swimming: 1/2 a veggie sausage in a white bread bun with a smear of ketchup. Tea.
D: Slice of "chicken", cabbage, carrots and peas, yorkshire pud + gravy.
T: White bread bun with hummus. Carrot sticks. Sugar snaps. A few crisps. Small glass of dry white wine.
Later on I had a scoop of vanilla Booja-Booja ice cream in a wafer cornet.

Exercise: 1 mile walk pushing baby on trike. 45 minutes in pool (not much swimming done tho as was with girls.)

As you can see, it wasn't the best of days!

    Today so far:
B: 3 oat cakes with 1/2 a baby avocado. Cup of tea with oat milk.
L: Will be having a salad with hummus and probs a bit of avocado too.
D: Will be having bean and veg stew with rice or couscous.

Exercise: I aim for 30 minutes of yoga and the same of Wii tennis: will also be doing 2x mile walks, halfway pushing buggy uphill.

Have a great week everyone x
Love and compassion to all x

Hi Julie :) Yes, avocado is high in fat, vitamins and minerals. The fat they contain is the good type of fat our body needs to function, just like the fat in nuts and vegetable oils. Usually about 1/4 of a normal sized avocado is a portion, but mine are baby ones. HTH :)

Morning All, well done to the losers and keep at it to the rest of us. No weight loss for me this week, doesn't suprise me, firstly I have noticed that during the first week of any healthy eating plan I often don't lose anything as too busy improving my diet and secondly this weekend was not too good. I finaly made the ribollita, it was yummy but even without olive oil and parmesan you probably shouldn't have more than one portion a day (unless you are an Italian peasant toiling in the fields all day!) I went to see an Open Garden and was guilted into having a piece of cake with my cup of tea, well it was for a good cause. The weather was pretty lousy too so didn't spend as much time in my garden as I usualy do and appart from the exercise value of gardening you can't eat while you are doing it. Still the tomatoes, peppers and aubergines are coming on nicely in the greenhouse.
DH is away until Wednesday so have to haul myself to the gym without him and make meals for one. Still at at least I can eat sardines or mackrel for lunch (he hates them, even the smell) so healthy fats for me today.

Agree with that Boodle, read somewhere that while today we eat lower fat generally than previous generations, it tends to be the wrong type, ie. too many saturated fats ( hidden in processed foods ). It was a revelation to me.

Well done newlywed, ida Notion and juliethemuse on your weight-loss, great :T.
I did not do my wi fit yesterday, dd said I should do double today :p
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

Well done everyone on your weightloss, especially those who've lost a lot, great start to your journey but PLEASE don't expect to lose that much each week as you will be disappointed. I feel another lecture coming on, apologies but if I don't let them out they make a right mess...
wow newleywed well done, 41b is exactly the right ammount to lose each week
Actually it is't. As Boodle rightly says, 1-2lb is EXACTLY the right amount to lose each week, and as little as 1/2 a lb for those who don't have a lot to lose. For the first few weeks of trying to lose, many people will lose more but that doesn't often last long.
I don't want to pour diet coke on anyone's success but I do not want other members to feel bad for only losing 1/2 to a lb a week when others are losing a lot more.
Having said that, of course if you are CONSIDERABLY overweight (BiggestLoser Style) then you can safely lose more weight faster, especially if you have previously been eating a LOT more than the 2000 a day. So people with a lot to lose will see much bigger losses each week, especially in the first month or two.
For people like me, with less than 2 stone to lose then 1-2lb is as much as I can hope for, and I have to work pretty hard for that. For people with less than a stone to go then losing even 1/2 a pound gets tricky!
I guess what I'm trying to say is try not to compare your weightloss to someone else's and make yourself feel bad for not losing as much, you have no idea where that other person may be on their weightloss journey, we are all different.

And as for the fats, right again there Boodle and Lovetopaint - there's nothing wrong with the right kind of fats, we need them... just remember in moderation!

This is very true. I'm viewing this as 'making a permanent change to my eating habits', which is why I'm allowing myself to err now and again, but I've been on enough diets to know that the initial loss is generally more substantial than what follows. The 'egg and grapefruit diet' springs to mind, from when I was a teenager in the eighties (and ironically was probably about 9st 4lbs, a perfectly acceptable weight that I'd kill my former self for if I met her today!). This saw me lose 7lb in a week, and had me viewing the cat as potential food every time it wandered past, never mind cat treats. Not a lot budged the following week, and in subsequent weeks I would not have expected it to - I think I was supplementing the diet with two bars of chocolate a day by then :)

It's also why I chose digital scales which show readouts in increments of a quarter of a pound. Even the departure of four ounces has got to be worth celebrating :)

Well Done NewlyWed - that is a brilliant loss.
Also well done everyone else who has lost, it's all in the right direction :)

I've had a boozy weekend which means on my mid-week WI i've gained 3lbs :( I'm going to have to try hard to just STS by offical WI day of Thursday :( I'm also feeling a bit jaded today due to excesses at the weekend but onwards and upwards!

    Today
B: 1 slice of toast, scraping of l/f spread with thin layer of golden syrup (not the best topping!)
    S: banana and necterine
L: :o veggie lasanga - sorry but feeling cr&p so needed a boost to energy levels that salad just would not give.
    S: apple maybe another necterine
D: baked mackeral with pots & peas (only 3 or 4 very small new potatoes)
NO alcohol - don't want any either!
