what does this little lot sound like to you guys? is it a bit heavy on the carbs perhaps?
breakfast ~ 3 slices of wholemeal toast with 2 eggs
dinner ~ wholemeal chicken sandwich with onions and mayo, banana and weight watchers yoghurt (YUCK it was rank!)
tea ~ a bit of cheddar cheese
drinks ~ water and coffee with no sugar and skimmed milk

I'm certainly no professional julie but I couldn't have 5 slices of bread in one day, it bloats me horribly so I try and keep to one slice. There are quite a lot of carbs, and very little fruit/veg - perhaps I'd change the chicken sandwich for a chicken salad?

I've swapped mayo for a very low fat sort, cheese for half fat and cut down on it (it's my downfall :(). A bit of cheese for tea doesn't sound very nourishing, or filling - depending on the size of the 'bit' of course! Ragz will be able to give a better opinion than me, but it sounds like the sort of meals I'd eat before I started my eating plan (don't like the word diet;)).

Right!! i am now the proud owner of an exercise bike - i'm struggling with low calorie so figure i can eat more if i exercise more right? Plan is to start small - a total of 30 mins through out the day tomorrow, more if i can manage it, but i'm aware i'm unfit.

Today i've not eaten much.... but i went to the pub and had a kebab yesterday so it's making up for that!

    D - Seafood linguine
    S - WW chocolate sponge
    lots of wine.....

Yup, that is a lot! Trying not to think about it as I'm missing my hm bread, on which I usually put far too much butter - well, you have to, don't you, or it would be boring ;)

Lunch was as planned, but couldn't finish the prawn/veg curry so put the rest by for tea. It was only a cereal bowlful but seem to have lost my appetite a bit today

Tea was the last couple of forkfuls of above curry, Muller light.

Snacks today were 2 satsumas, 1 apple and a plum. Constant tea with skimmed milk, my kettle never has time to get cold :o

Won't have time for breakfast tomorrow as it's an 80 mile drive to visit DM so will take some FnF in a polythene box to pick at on the way

breakfast ~ 3 slices of wholemeal toast with 2 eggs make that one slice of granary/wholemeal toast with the two eggs and add some mushrooms/tomatoes/lean bacon and follow with some fruit
dinner ~ wholemeal chicken sandwich with onions and mayo, banana and weight watchers yoghurt (YUCK it was rank!) WW yogurts ARE rank! Could you try a salad as suggested, or in a tortilla wrap?
tea ~ a bit of cheddar cheese Um, that's NOT a meal! I don't even know where to start lol
drinks ~ water and coffee with no sugar and skimmed milk
I did my best with that lol but to summarise, yes that was too much bread and obviously you know it! But it IS very easy to get stuck in a bread rut, with toast for brekkie and a sandwich for lunch, many people do every day. Could you have a soup for lunch with one piece of bread/ a roll? Eggs for breakfast is great but you could easily cope with one slice of toast if you added some veg. You definitely need more fruit and veg in that day's plan too.

Off for Run 3 of Week 2 this morning, when my breakfast has gone down and the flapjacks are done.
Breakfast was 2 ryevita crispbreads with marmite and soft cheese, (a few mouthfuls of flapjack mix) and I'll have a piece of fruit when I get back from my run.
Need a healthy dinner today as we had hotdogs (proper sausages) and chips last night! Though I did have more than my fair share of the onions as my veg portion!

Need to make another batch of soup as I'm all out.

Aim for next week is to keep better track of food as I haven't been listing everything on here so I'll try a food diary (again) just so I can look over it at the end of the week to see if there are any major flaws. I tend to make notes in my main notebook but then the days don't stay together... hmmm

Good luck everyone, enjoy the rest of your weekend :D

    Morning all :)

Juliethemuse- if it is any help, I managed to cut down on bread by not having it for breakfast everyday (not saying you do, but I used to), ie having whole cereals, porridge etc. It took some getting used to.Then wholemeal granary bread for lunch, then rice, potatoes, bulgar wheat or pasta for tea. That works for me at the moment. Plus it helps me vary the type of carbs I have throughout the day. My problem is the size of the carb portions I have, but working on that.

    Today:
B- shr.wheat, milk, chopped dried apricots
S- cottage cheese with two chopped tomatoes (counted as fruit?)
D- roast chicken, rst pots, carrots, peas, asparagus.
    S- strawberries, nat. yoghurt
    T- egg and lettuce sandwhich.

Exercise: 100 cal burn on wi fit.

Have a good day everyone :)
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

10 mins on the bike done so far today. Aiming for short busts that i can build up to longer stretches.

Not planned much on the eating front yet today.

Scrambled eggs on low calorie bread for lunch i think
    Apple and raspberries for snacks
Chicken, potatoes and veg for dinner
Small slice of HM fruit tart for afters.

    No alcohol.

I have to confess I've let things slip a bit this weekend: I had several glasses of wine while watching the Eurovision song contest last night (an annual guilty pleasure ;)), and am suffering a dreadful attack of CBA today - I haven't eaten particularly healthily, or done any exercise, and can't even summon up the energy to feel guilty about my laziness. I guess (hope! ;)) one day won't hurt, though.

    Today I've eaten:

Brunch - the last of the onion bread (about 2 and a half slices - it's one of these tapering loaves so you end up with a couple of weeny slices at the end of the loaf) with two boiled eggs, six slices of chorizo and a portion of tomatoes
    Snack - bunch of grapes
Dinner - spicy beef stew, heavily bulked with peppers, beans and onions, with steamed greens and a HM pesto roll (it was meant to be a jacket potato but they've gone too soft and sprouty to eat - I'll plant them instead so by the end of the summer I'll have lots of potatoes! :D)

I'm feeling too lazy to go out to the pub quiz tonight so I won't be drinking, which I hope helps balance out yesterday. :o

    Back on the bandwagon tomorrow!
Back after a very long break!

only 2 slices of bread today, i had a look in the cereal cupboard but the sugary cereals are a bit of a no no,
then healthy roast dinner, loads of veg etc, i 'm still full at 3:30pm but its usually later about 7ish i feel absolutely starving, and i really dont like having anything that late, apart from my bit of cheese then i will have vivid dreams when i go to sleep, always happens,
