Good grief can't some people go on? Just had a custmer on the phone who is a world class winger, he's terribly polite but he complains incessantly and constantly brings up things I thought we had dealt with! It's enough to make anyone reach for a biscuit... infact I feel like taking the whole tin. But I won't, knowing you are all out there empathising , I hope:o.

aagh no he's just been on again! Help I am going to die, he has talked my ear off!

slowlyfading - I hope you're not coming down with some sort of bug - I find colds tend to make my food taste different and sometimes unpleasant. :(

Lazy Liz - very well done for staying away from the biscuit tin in the face of what sounds like extreme provocation. :T

I didn't attend the work leaving do after all as it became apparent I'd been invited out of politeness rather than an expectation or desire that I would go - so I didn't. ;) As I've saved a few calories by not drinking the expected gallon of orange juice, I reckon I can get away with a light sprinkling of parmesan on my pasta tonight, which I feel is a good exchange. :D

Have a pleasant and healthy evening, all. :)
Back after a very long break!

Thanks for your concern - I hope I'm not either! I intend to go to bed early tonight, and hopefully it'll be nothing :)

Right thats it with the research, have driven myself mad. Have now upped my low-fat dairy to 3 a day. Newlywed, ragz link above about sugar better than what I could have offered, hope you get some answers.

Have listed my healthy eating aims in my sig now, just so I don't loose track.
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

As planned, dinner was salad of 1/4 Little Gem, fine beans, mange tout, 1/2 tomato, cucumber, stick celery and a hb egg (which turned out to be a double yolker. Have only seen them in their raw state or fried before), 1 desertspoon very light mayo. Had a red grapefruit afterwards, so yummy I ate the whole lot :o. I never put sugar on grapefruit, love it as it is and don't know how anyone could spoil it by adding spoonfuls of granulated!

2 little satsumas, a banana and a Muller through the evening. I have to curb my habit of going in search of food after 7pm, I really don't need any more after all I'm eating on this eating plan!

I just typed a massive long post and lost it :(

Ok a quicker one, I would love to join you all as I need to lose a bit of weight healthily and frugally if possible.

I am a big snacker and where I work there are always biccys and cakes on offer,I work school hours so have cereal before work, take a banana and oat cakes (which are usually gone by 10) to work and then snack on all the rubbish all day...I just seem to feel like I need a constant energy boost.

I am living with my parents at the moment while our house purchase is sorted with my dh and 3 young children which is also not helping as the kitchen isn't really mine iyswim...

any tips on healthy eating for a big snacker would be welcome...

the other thing is i feel so lethargic a lot of the day so think my diet might be contributing to this...

I will have look through this thread to get to know you better and hopeully join you on your journeys :D

I've been very busy and so have not been posting daily, but I've been keeping up with reading everybody's posts and my own efforts are going reasonably well. I did have a blip tonight when I reached for a Twix after putting my youngest to bed, but I ate one finger of it and then put down the other half and forgot about it before realising that I wasn't interested in the rest and didn't actually want any more, so I didn't eat it. Me losing interest in a bar of chocolate and forgetting about it halfway through is an event rarer than Victoria Beckham smiling or DFS not running a sofa sale. It's a wonder the press weren't beating a path to the front door for details.

    Food today...

    Breakfast: Plain yoghurt and blueberries
Lunch: Two small seeded rolls with wafer thin ham, home-grown lettuce and low fat mayonnaise
Tea: Smart Price noodles with some instant curry sauce and a tablespoon of hot mango chutney stirred in
Snack: Half a Twix. Fetch the press! :)

    Exercise today...

Walk to the school and back, twice (approx 25 minutes total)
Apathetic cleaning session (approx 30 minutes)
Boosting cardiac activity with the realisation that Mother-In-Law will be visiting on Sunday (approx 2 seconds)
Energetic cleaning session (approx 3 hours, 15 minutes)

No plans for tomorrow, but it wouldn't surprise me if the other half of the Twix gets involved :)

Morning all! I am back from my few days away and just had a quick wizz through everything posted in my absence. More newbies - welcome! And congrats to all the losers!

Well my second week on the May Challenge hasn't been going as well as the first! We were tempted to try out the new Wetherspoons a few miles from our site and, by accident (or was it coincidence!) timed it just for the start of the Steak Club menu (3 pm) So there I was with a big plate of gammon, pineapple, mushroom, tomato, chips and peas! Naughty, but I did enjoy it, and I refrained from getting a dessert! As I had already sinned I then succumbed to opening a bottle of wine in the evening!

Nonetheless, I am now back on the straight and narrow with a vengeance - I am determined I will have lost at least another pound on my weigh day - Sunday. Todays menu is:

B Benefit flakes, small sliced banana and sk milk
L Tuna (canned in brine!) with a mountain of salad and 2 slices of Nimble granary bread. FF yogurt.
D Jacket potato with prawns and another mountain of salad. Individual meringue (50 cals) sugar free jelly, raspberries and blueberries and a dollop of FF fromage frais
Snacks to be satsumas and grapes.
