I lost about 3 stone some years back, my main staple was the Potato Curry and chick pea dahl.

I would take it to work cold but as it had some 'heat' it was great. You could snack on it at anytime so less chocolate and as it contains chillies they help with your matabolism.0 -

Your positive post cheered me up Eltee12, thanks. Good luck with the class... must do my exercises today!Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0 -
Hi All,
Well done Eltee & hollyh.
I've only survived this week on calories - have been working physically and mentally all week. Wooden dining room floor had moved and was breaking up so had to remove floor and joists and replace - bl00dy hard work and ached for 3 days, then its been a vat return done in the evenings and year end at my job - I'm knacked!
So haven't been anywhere near the scales! i think i'm about the same as my clothes still feel the same. This weekend in helping clear a garden for fella's family and then both mothers over on sunday but I'm only collecting my mother from the airport at 00.30 hours on sunday morning - so I can't see this weekend being any more 'restful' than the last one.
hope that next week will see the floor finished and [STRIKE]room[/STRIKE] house put back into order ! Then maybe I'll have time to think about me.
hope you all have a good weekend and enjoy mothers day.0 -
Hello, I'd like to join in because I'm a fat pig and have no money
Seriously I am a lot heavier/fatter than I used to be and I don't feel good about it. The money saving bit - I've had a pay cut so need to spend less and I can't afford to be buying bigger clothes.
My problem is eating junk foods and processed foods (I don't want to totally cut treats out), not eating regular meals and not exercising enough.
Today's not been good so far but maybe if I write in this thread I'll be shamed into doing better.
Today
B - plain crisps
Snack - cheese & onion crisps
L - spicy potato wedges
Snack - small piece ginger cake
Drinks - lots of diet coke (bad)
For dinner I'm going to cram in some veggies! And I've a bottle of water in the fridge (must drink more water - healthy and much cheaper than fizzy drinks).
Exercise - hour and half working on allotment (will have marvellous fresh fruit and veg).
I have my dogs to walk too but I've found myself walking slow/average speeds instead of quickly.
Written down it looks terrible - even worse you're all going to see it.0 -
A few more random thoughts (hope that's allowed).
I'm eating smaller portions of things to save money and help me lose weight.
I think a lot of the pigging out is because of work stress and boredom.
I don't have scales and last time I weighed myself I was well over 10 stone, I just want to be able to fit into my old clothes.0 -

I have been bad. Thursday i ate 3 chocolate hobnobs and a bar of galaxy. Yesterday i went out for lunch, ate a packet of sour skittles and then had a curry and a glass of wine. I think i'm back on track now though.0

I had a semi-successful weekend.
Breakfast and dinner were quite healthy but lunch both days was potato wedges (not home-made so full of stuff I probably shouldn't have).
Snacks were a bit naughty - Saturday I held myself back and just a bag of crisps. Yesterday had crisps, chocolate bar and then went to see friends and ate lots of biscuits and piece of cake.
Didn't have many fizzy drinks (because I'd not got any in the house). :T
Had lots of walks and remembered to walk briskly some of the time.
Overall I had lots of gentle exercise and regular meals (skipping meals is my worst fault).
Today is hard, I want to go to the canteen to buy something but I could take bread to toast and cup a soup... think that's what I'll do.0
