Hi Everyone, sorry I've been a bit 'out of it' lately. Very busy working in the garden so hoping that I would lose some weight but just staying the same :(
I'm honestly not eating a lot and used to smirk when working with older ladies who used to 'diet' with me and say that it must be their age. I was sure that they must be kidding themselves but find myself in the same situation. Has any one any inspiration or encouagement for me please? I have to lose this weight and it just isn't budging. I'm nearer 60 than 50, (gulp, how did that happen?!) and walk a lot plus gardening but really don't feel up to much more exercise at the moment. Vicious circle, I feel like I would do more if I was slimmer, I know, I know... Just wondered if there was anyone else out there with the same problem or any one who had had some success with beating it?
Now in a completely different vein, I thought that some of you might be interested in this website provided by the NHS: Couch to 5k.
http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx It starts with brisk walking and progresses to a 30 min run within 9 weeks. It has podcasts to talk you through each run, so it's like having your own personal trainer. I might even give it a try!
Good luck everyone and welcome to all Newbies.
PS Troll35 asked for desk exercises. I once read that the best exercise that you can do is pushing your chair away from the table:)

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I've been walking to work and back most days - just under 2 miles each way - and yet the scales say I have lost nothing :( I have lost nearly an inch off my waist but still :o

I need to lose weight by the end of this month when I go back to the doc. Just can't seem to get motivated with dieting.

I've got clothes galore I can't fit into - but I've tried some on from last summer and they still seem to fit.

L-mackerel fillet, bulgar wheat, houmous, lettuce
S-tinned peaches, nat yog, brazil nut
D-will be poached egg, hm chips, peas or salad
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.

I've found the weight comes off unpredictabily, so I think I've had a really good week, but only loose a pound, next week nothing special and 3lb's lighter. I keep thinking i should maybe only get weighed every 4 weeks, but I don't think I could stand the suspense.

    Todays weigh-in 11st 1lb, loss of 1.5lb.

Meant to say that I really enjoyed the frozen coley the other day. Just microwaved in a little milk, not dry at all. Going to try a yoghurt salad dressing today, will post recipe when found it.

Housework is my exercise today, lots of it :)

Argh! You don't want to know how much I have put on since I stopped breastfeeding :(:( I did not realise how much it was burning considering baby wasn't all that bothered about having much, she wasn't on very long at all for the last month, if at all, each day. But since she has stopped all of a sudden, weight has steadily crept on despite being very good last week. As I felt I had been really holding back on things I would like to eat, with the motivation of giving weight loss a quick start again to do so, it was very disheartening to see I had actually put another lb on :(

Carb heavy today, think its cos feeling so down and after last week of being so good, felt a bit "sod it"

Breakfast: 1 slice of 50/50, toasted, with spread + smear of marmalade. Earl grey with oat milk. Vitamin + tsp flax oil.

Lunch: 1/4 stottie filled with: 4 slices aubergine and 1/2 a courgette roasted in about 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil. Smear of hummus. 2 sun dried tomatoes. 2 black coffees.

Dinner: Will be having leftover spiced veggies with almonds + about 3 tbsp rice. Water to drink.

Will avoid eating anything else until dinner now. Water and maybe 1 cuppa later on if feeling peckish.
Love and compassion to all x

On the good front the warm weather brings out the salad......... but then we also have the ice cream! I have been totally abandoned with eating, just going through one of those grey day stages and it was all I could do to get up and go to work let alone worry about what I ate.

But we're a little better now so here we go again......... or still

Bfast - egg and quorn sausage
Lunch - tuna salad with baby beetroot
    Tea - fish and veg
Snack - Graze nuts and goji berries

Hi all, been trying less than hard the last month so have lost nothing :( but then I've hardly done the wii fit at all so it seems that was making a difference as I have still been eating less. Managed to stay under 13 stone but as I'm aiming for 11 by the summer I think I may not make it!
Very virtuously I had fruit salad for breakfast despite cooking a bacon and egg sarnie for hubby at 7.30am and another for my best mate at 9.30. Ham sandwich for lunch and will be having roast pork mash and veggies for supper. MUST REMEMBER THAT A SERVING OF MASH DOES NOT MEAN HALF A PLATEFUL Only naughtyness today was a few bites of choccy egg that DS2 brought home from preschool.

Do you know? I love the fact that people are honest on here and admit it when they've been human! I hate those hyped-up slimming clubs where everyone is perfect. The weather's better, that should help as Sams247 said.
I'll own up to to having the first '99' of the year:o but I've had it now and I can move on...hopefully! (I find that picturing myself waddling out to the ice cream van accompanied by the shrieks of laughter and looks of pity from my neighbours helps as a deterrent!;):rotfl:)
Good luck everyone, have a good weekend:)
