It's only 14 words long with 3 rules and 1 exception:- No Snacks

morning all
well done to all of you who have lost this week.
welcome to any new starters-not had time to read back through the posts yet but will do later.
had two weeks of socialising im afraid so not done my dieting efforts any good, had lots of birthdays to attend and everyone seems to want to eat out at the moment!!! anyway been on the scales and at least i have stayed the same as my last weigh in.
walking is going well im managing 2 miles a day and think its time to try and do slightly more. Really enjoying this , its doing me good, hopefully toning me up a little and its free........
Hubby wants to loose a little too and is going to weigh me in future to try and keep me on the straight and narrow road....we will see (could end in divorce!!!!!).
today- breakfast - oats
off shopping this morning , fancying some lovely fruits so will see whats available later.

I need to join this. I just saw a picture taken of me on Ds1's Birthday.:o:eek::o:eek: That was my reaction. I've weighed on the scales but will weigh on the wii fit later as they're different and the wii fit is a bit more generous. :cool:0

So instead of baking and eating it all within a day (or is that just me? :P) you still have the yummy food, just eat less of it and over a longer period? Seems sensible!
I was really worried that I'd have to stop cooking. I look at the meal plans and want to cry with the same cereal for breakfast/ham sandwich with salad for dinner/cabbage soup with an apple for tea. Surely people can't live on that! It's so boring!
I try not to have the same thing for breakfast or lunch twice in a row - and not more than twice a week if possible - just do a bit of planning and work out what you can afford (quite easy for me as I just stick to a certain number of Weight Watchers ProPoints so lots of variety possible).
I think mixing up the types of thing you eat not only helps you stick to healthy eating for longer, but gives your metabolism something different to work on and perhaps work that little bit harder for you. The latter isn't based on any fact I've found by the way, just something I personally believe.
For example, some of my breakfast and lunch selections:
BREAKFAST (and generally supermarket own brands, not expensive brand names)
2 x Weetabix and skimmed milk
2 Shredded Wheat and skimmed milk
Apple puree and yogurt
Eggy bread with either lemon juice and powdered sweetener or ketchup depending on sweet or savoury mood
Poached egg on toast
Porridge
LUNCH
Soup and home made toast
Toasted Bagel with ELF Cheese spread
Wholemeal wrap - cold filling with salad, or hot mushrooms with grated cheese melted on top or sweet chilli sauce
Crumpets and ELF cheese spread or golden syrup
Pitta bread 'pizza' with tomato and low fat cheese
Spicy noodles with mushrooms, peppers and sweet chilli sauce
Jacket Potato (no end of toppings here)
Small portion of wholewheat pasta
and
and don't get me started on evening meals. Anything is possible - just either have less of it and bulk it up with veg, or swap in low fat ingredients for the full fat versions.
I refuse to eat as if I'm on a diet or I'll just put it all back on when I've finished dieting.0 -
Hello everone, great inspiration reading this thread.
Right, here it goes... I weigh 11st 4 (5' 2inches tall) and have lost 4lb recently on a low GI diet. I am at that 'so committed will never look back' stage, you know...
However, the difference is I now have high blood pressure for my age (43) and must must loose the excess. So if it's ok, I would like to post my weight once a week here to help me stay committed. I really hope I can stay committed, good luck everone...see you next weekHealthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0 -
I've been on the Wii fit which was kinder than the scales by 8lbs! I had a massive shock looking back at my weight on there when i realised i'd put on 2st in a year.:eek: I'm really determind now, i am not giving up this time.0

finally found this thread back on page 7!
hope all of you are well and still on the straight and narrow path of sensible eating.
welcome to the newbies too.
been away for a few days and although I ate more than normal I think the cold kept the weight off, have returned the same weight as I went! I was so cold that I had 2 teeshirts on under my jumper - think I must have my home too hot but my friends have theirs at the other extreme and then open the windows all the time!
Had a really busy weekend and will be busy all this week so hopeful to shift some of the sticky pounds that I have!
TODAY:
B; small bowl of shreddies with splash of milk
B: an hour later 1 slice of toast with l/f spread and smear of golden syrup.
L: tuna mayo sandwich with cress, bag of hula hoops and lilt zero
S: applespag bol will go easy on the spag!
there may well be a glass of wine consumed tonight as I don't think I'll sit down until nearly 10pm. - huummm maybe this why I still have some 'sticky' pounds (ie i'm staying the same a lot)0 -
Hi all, this is my first post in this thread
I weighed in yesterday at 10st 11lbs and would like to trim up a bit before my jollies. I really like the idea of the No S Diet, I think I could manage that.
Today I have had/will be having:
B: porridge (smaller portion than I usually have)
L: huge salad with a small portion of roast chicken and a dressing (salad cream, horseradish and some water shaken together)Jamies Oliver's 'Pregnant Jool's pasta' from his 30 min cookbook, fruit salad for afters.
I'm going to try and do a bit of exercise too to tone up.I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0
