Re crumpet discussion... I've found that bread now makes me feel bloated where I never had problems before. I think it's another food item that you just don't know what they are adding to it (and I'm not into baking my own as I'd eat even more:eek:
I must admit that I find it easy to just grab a sandwich for lunch, or tea, or supper...:o Note to self: step away from the bread!:rotfl:

    Morning all,

I'm a newbie here looking for some weightloss tips/recipes/experiences etc. I have been trying to lose weight since the start of the year, its not easy!! I find the weekends are the hardest with being lazy and getting take out or my boozing! I have been drinking a steady 1.5ltrs of water every day at work (5days) as I heard somewhere that this helps with weight loss, is it true?

I also go to fitness classes at nightime Step aerobics/bums n tums/zumba etc 3-4 times a week. I walk as much as I can but with the brilliant Scottish weather its not so enjoyable.

My problem like many I suspect is food :( I just can't help myself. I am too easily tempted. I start of the day with good intentions then before I know it im stuffing the last bit of the office chocolate cake into my mouth. If only I could be strong and say NO THANK YOU!

I tend to make my weekly lunch in batches on a sunday, this week I have made 5 portions pasta with green beans, sweetcorn, peppers and pesto. Last week I had 5 portions of sweet potatoe & chilli soup.

    Today will go like this:
B: 2 boiled eggs, 2 slices of brown bread with l/f spread & cup of tea, 1 sugar, semi skimmed milk
    S: Go ahead fruit bake
L: Pasta with green beans, sweetcorn, peppers & pesto, handfull of cheery toms & apple
    D: Homemade pizza.

I usually don't have a snack at night, just a glass of milk with my tea as it seems to fill me up!

Anyways, just wanted to post my story, I feel that writing things down help and i'm looking forward to some tips!
    Thanks for reading
    Suzi x

Welcome Shezam - try doing a food & drink diary, you might be surprised how many calories are in booze. Your food to exercise ratio looks fine - 3 classes a week is very impressive.

    Today:
B: 2 single packets of cereal (I find i'm hungry too early on one!) 350 cals
    S: none so far
L: small potato to be mircowaved into a jacket spud with a large spoon of left over chilli
S: orange & bag of crisps (guess which will be eaten first!)
D: sausages prob as a toad, maybe with mash, also a baked apple for after as the cooking apples need using up.

I'm out for a drink with my friend tonight so will be a couple of glasses of wine on top :D Then I'm away for a few days so diet will be out the window but hoping to walk a lot to balance out!

Hi Bramble, haven't we all done the doughnut revenge thing? and don't you feel awful afterwards? I had bacon and egg yesterday because the bacon had to be used up and it was an awful, miserable day...:( A great excuse eh? Never mind, today is a new day...
You were losing a lot at the beginning of the year so maybe you are just settling down a bit?
I take the attitude that it isn't going to happen quickly and if I deny myself something it builds up to a binge. That's my excuse any way;)
Welcome newbies and stick in there everyone:)

Thanks :) I was pretty positive and decided yesterday was a new day and that i really need to knuckle down with logging my foods. I think half my problem is i've been a little lazy recently. Not eating junk (except those delicious doughnuts :o ) just not tracking calories.

Anywhooo something is working and i'm down to the next lb mark as of this morning. 1.8lbs and my first stone this year will have gone and i'll have lost 19lbs in total since before my flu episode over christmas.

    Yesterday I had
    B - muller corner
    L - vegetable soup
D - Jacket potato, chili and half fat creme fraiche
snacks involved tootie fruites and lucky charms... didn't go over calories though.

OH has hidden the box of lucky charms.outta sight outta mind really works!! We have our own cupboards at home so i'm not tempted by his crisps and chockies as i never see them!!

    Today
    b - BGTY blueberry muffin
l - jacket potato and baked beans
d - beef stew and poatoes
had a fair amount of milk today am under calories but just dont fancy anything.

    Sorry for the essay all....

OH and MASSIVE thank you to the person who gave the mapmyrun link AMAZING.

Well done Bramble1 you've done really well haven't you? I must admit to weight loss envy:o:D
You're an inspiration, I have loads going on at the moment, Dad in hospital etc so haven't got a lot of spare time to exercise but just trying to watch the intake, that'll have to do for the moment.
Well done you! (I think that we should have gold stars on here, beer doesn't exactly give the right message!)

    Tea - tuna pasta bake
Snack - was going to be a graze box with mago and coconut....... but.... bread pudding
