Been away for a few days and enjoyed eating out.:D
Dreaded getting weighed this morning but haven't put any weight on, hoping that I've got away with it and that it's not going to take a few days to register. We did walk a lot...
The plan is to keep moving and be really vigilant with my intake for the rest of the week. Fingers crossed, good luck everyone:)The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Thank you to Ragz and Mlz for your replies; I will follow your advice and look on the forums you mentioned.
I go to the gym at 3.30 pm (I work in a school) so it's a little early for a meal when I get home; however, I will leave out some protein-based snack for when I get home and I will eat a few extra carbs before I exercise- I don't think I eat enough at lunchtime (around 300 calories) and I suspect this is creating my monstrous hunger after exercise.
I am off to look on those forums and to post a store-cupboard challenge!0 -
Got my Graze box - so far so good, not sure how money saving it will be once the offer runs out but for me the benefit is it comes in snack size boxes, if I bought a big bag of snacks I know I'd eat about 3 days worth in one sitting, this way I'm forced to limit it to one. I bring in one little box each day for snacks. Two days down and I haven't eaten any biscuits or chocolate at work.......... but when the novelty wares off who can say!
Oh, and does anyone else get really ratty and snappy when they get low on sugar/energy? Just me?

Got .Oh, and does anyone else get really ratty and snappy when they get low on sugar/energy? Just me?
I get ratty when I'm hungry and when I'm tired, actually if i'm honest I can be down right horrible at those times.
Have never pinned it down exclusively to sugar levels as I work with people I find quite trying at times!0 -
hi everyone,
well this week i have concentrated on eating more healthy foods more than actual full blown diet to get me gently into the swing of things. I have gone back to wholemeal bread, lf spreads and yoghurts, 1%milk and loads of fruit and veggies. I have cut out the rubbish (95% of it anyway) and have filled up on fruit and walked 2 miles 5 out of 7 days this last week.
RESULT- feel loads better for the exercise and fresh air and have lost 2lbs!!!! yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
now i know i will have to start cutting the calories down as i always loose slowly after the first week but happy enough as long as its moving in the right direction
come on eenymeeny- we can walk the long slow road together..........
good luck everyone for the coming week and well done to all the loosers, hugs to anyone needing one

I've been trying to lose half a stone since well before Xmas. I did well to lose a stone last year but just can't get this last bit to shift! My problem is that I get massive cravings for sweet stuff like chocolate and cakes so I've stopped buying them in, but since I've been learned to cook OS I can whip up a cake/cookies/biccies etc without a second thought
This is not good, if I make a cake my son will have one piece and I'll easily polish the rest off within a couple of days
Any advice on how to tackle this, other than not buying eggs, flour and sugar!!? How do others resist the urge to make something when they get the craving???Never say never0 -
Thanks for the encouragement findingmyfeet. I've promised myself that I'll walk into town this morning. (about a mile I reckon) It's very windy though... maybe the wind will be behind me:) Well done on your loss:beer:
I find that the only way to resist cakes etc is NOT to make them. Sorry, it mightn't be very OS but if we really want a cake or sweet I just buy 2 portions as a special treat. Have to say that it doesn't happen often these days.;) If you really crave something sweet I find a ryvita with a little bit of jam on (no butter) is quite satisfying with a cup of tea...The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

Welcome girlybags well done on being able to knock up a batch of cakes and biscuits at the drop of a hat, I love cooking but am not much of a baker.
Could you batch cook and then freeze things, then only take out what you need for your son's pack lunches? or get an unflattering photo of yourself and stick it to the flour bag so that whenever you get the flour out your willpower can be given a boost not to make things you don't need?
I used to try and eat a piece of fruit before having a bad snack (crisps / choc etc) if I didn't fancy the fruit then I wasn't hungry just having a craving, only took me a week to get to grips with the signs.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, I'm out saturday day which will involve a meal and lots of booze, but am hopefully out horse riding sunday so along with normal dog walking am hoping to combat the excesses!0 -
I agree with MLZ idea - I tend to batch cook anyway and I have started to do this for cookies and cakes I amke for the family, any left uneaten I divide up and freeze in daily portions, this way I resist the temptation to just one more slice! Also in my weird mind I am happy knowing there are cakes in the freezer even if I dont eat them. Sad sad.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I will start to have a 'baking day' once a week and freeze everything in portions like suggested, fingers crossed that I have the will power to resist the 'defrost' button on the microwave, hehe!!! I'm going to try and substitute half the fat for apple sauce in recipes as well (as suggested somewhere on the forum) so that if I do pig out at least it's a bit less fattening!
Thanks again, everyoneNever say never0
