  • hi everyone,

would love to join you all if thats ok..............finally got over the strop i had this morning after getting weighed (bodily manhandled onto them by oh!!), i've put on a stone in the last 6 months and really want shut of it-either that or a whole new wardrobe.

need to lose around 21lbs but anything over 14 i would be really happy with. i always seem to lose weight very slowly so this could be a long job but dont mind as long as it keeps on moving.

dinner tonight is : hm carrot and coriander soup and hm brown breadrolls (loads of freebie carrots off dads allotment to use up).

so my weigh ins will take place every wednesday. any tips suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

Welcome FindingMyFeet I'll be glad of some company as it takes me ages to lose any weight, even when I've got impatient and gone onto slimfast etc. So I'm resigned to it now that as long as I'm not putting it on and if I can lose Ilb a week it's better than nothing isn't it?
Thanks for the advice on the Chinese food Mlz I'll certainly check out the menus now insted of just going for lemon chicken every time! Mmmm...
Hope that you are feeling better now. I've had a cold for 3 weeks now and the cough is still lingering. OH keeps telling me how annoying it is, as if I didn't know!:)
I've been reading the Slimming World 'Best Ever Recipes' book. Lots of ideas for proper meals like spag bol and macoroni cheese but low calorie versions like using quorn and low fat cheese so I might give them a try. I feel too cold to be eating salads yet. I'm sure that we'll all manage better when we get some sunshine:beer:

I've signed up to Graze...... I recognise part of my downfall is that I pick bits to eat at work, a nibble here and there (especially on dull days), for example I never snack on biscuits at home, but at work I have at least two........ and thats when I am disciplined! So I thought maybe if I had a graze box delivered to work I might just snack on healthy things. We shall see, I'm going to try the first two boxes at least for the offer and see if it helps.

    Today
Bfast - quorn sausage with wholemeal pitte (it was a finishing up whats in the cupboard job!)
Lunch - baguette with chicken in tikka masala sauce (well I'd finished up what was in the cupboard and the boss sent out for baguettes....)
    Tea - chicken with veggies
    Snack - oat biscuits

Not a great day food diet wise but I have my period and feel grot and want to comfort eat. (these excuses btw may one day be made into a best selling book called The Reasons I Can't Possibly Lose Weight)

            Hi all

Can I join too? I will weigh in tomorrow and every Friday from then on.

I have 4 stone to lose and want at least 2 stone gone by my Summer holiday in July.

I can't exercise due to an ongoing health problem and my weight has gradualy crept up since the problem began.

            Will post more.

            Hi All

Well done all those that lost (wasn't me ) I stayed the same and I worked really hard last week as well, this week I have been following the "myspecialk", which gives recipes etc, its free, and loads of great tips, buddies etc. I have not to weigh myself until the 15th day, not following the dishes to a "T" as there are things I would not eat but I have found it surprisingly easy, pasta dish last night for dinner was only something like 378 cals and delicious and filled me up :D

            Todays Menu -
            B - Special k Berries + Banana (300)
            S - Yoghurt (98)
L - 2 slice medium wholemeal bread with 2 slice thin roast beef, cucumber, peppers, rocket & tiny blob light mayo, Grapes (311)
            S - Plum (10)
            D - Bacon, Potato & Cabbage stir fry (510)

            Water so far - 8 x 200ml
Walking - 40 minutes (so brisk I fell in a field trying to take a shortcut) :rotfl:
Exercise - 30 mins lower body on wii :D

            NO ALCOHOL TONIGHT :A

Hi all, after having a few weeks off to re-evaluate....

I have been walking to work every day this week and also walked half way home yesterday and the whole way home today. It's £2 a bus trip too so saves me money on top! so all the time it's not tipping down, I plan to walk.

Have also been trying to cut down on salt in the diet for health reasons, but it's made me take another look at the labels of things already in the cupboard :o

Have a huge wardrobe containing lots of clothes, most of which I no longer fit into - just from a year's stressed over-eating. OH's ex is having a gastric band which means eating only pureed food for the first 4-6 weeks and only eating 4 tablespoons for each meal..... I don't ever want to have to get to that stage - I like food too much!!!

            Food today:

b: two shredded wheat, 5g of sugar (a huge reduction for me :o) oat milk and raisins.
            s: two clementines
l: hm chicken and barley soup; a caramel wafer bar
d: hm fish pie with brocc and sweetcorn.

plus 2 miles walk to work, 2 miles home.

Will see how tired I am tomorrow as to whether I walk again or not...

Wahooo i had a really stubborn lb that wouldn't shift, but it's gone today!

I've been focusing on eating fruit and salads with a more bulky main meal in the evening. Seems to be working :)

My exciting news today is that my snack of the day is a mango! Fruit is a rare commodity for me..... I eat loads of veggies but hardly any fresh fruit. And I have to confess it was very nice.

            Bfast - weetabix
            Lunhc - pasta salad
            Tea - fish and veggies
            snack - mango sliced

                    ....

A friend of mine had a Gastric BALLOON fitted, this is a short term thing, I believe 6 months max. I would really recommend having this first and then if the life style suits her (OH's Ex) the go for the Gastic Band.

My friend was seriously overweight and had been putting on for years, but her relationship with food was very poor. The months the balloon was in she hated it and always felt uncomfortable. But she has gone from a dress size 20 to 14 and looks and feels amazing.

I would never go down this route but I can see that if you are so heavy that exercise is painful then this temporary fix can help you.
