Welcome to the newbies - good to see so much determination going around.

I've slipped a little bit, so little in the house that I'm getting a bit demotivated. Just not enough to actually go shopping - werid I know but the thought of screaming kids and all those people blocking the alisles just to compare cornflakes makes me go _pale_

    Today (not good!)
B: 2 toast with l/f spread, peanut butter & honey
L: fish cakes, chips & beans
    D; lasanga
    and out for drinks tonight.

Am out most of the weekend day times so not sure how that will work with food - must put myself on the scales to remind me why I must watch what I eat!!

    Afternoon all!

Checking in, had a good week. Think i have cracked my habit of snacking in the evening and now i don't think about eating after dinner anymore!! wahoo! I paint my nails, read a book, take bath anything to not think about eating. I try not to go in the kitchen if i can help it too.

5.4lbs down so far this year!! on target for my 7lb loss for january.

Today i've had scrambled egg and beans. I think dinner will be prawn stir fry.

I love Jamie Oliver for his show about cooking with fish, at now OH is willing to try more fish dishes which are nice and healthy! so we've got smoked haddock and pollack to eat this week.

Off to meal plan some lovely dinners and lunches for the week ahead!!

  • oh this weekend has not been good for me so far!

went to a club friday night and danced my little heart out, unfortunately i also drank horrendous amounts of whiskey too. All this hard work made me very hungry and i DEMANDED that we go to the local chip shop at half two so i could indulge in some chips. I got the largest portion the had with cheese, beans and chilli sauce on it (seemed a good idea at the time!). My mate told me that i practically unhinged my jaw and swallowed the chips whole.

Woke up this morning/afternoon because the fire alarm went off and as it was freezing outside went to the pub. Had a cheeseburger and chips for breakfast/lunch and was too tired this evening to cook so had banana and chocolate cake that i had made earlier in the week.

Oh and then went to a friends house, she had cooked chocolate muffins and i had one of those too......:D

so tomorrow i will try to be better.......:p

  • I've lost 6lbs now in January. Just another 2lbs to hit my January target.

I'm becoming obsessed with portion sizes but it's working as I can eat whatever the family eat just small amounts. :)

Hi everyone :) Hope you are all well x

It's hard to keep up with forums lately.

    Yesterday:
B: a pear and black coffee
L: hummus sandwich in wholemeal. A couple of apple slices and red grapes. Green tea.
T: 2 "chicken" nuggets dunked in ketchup. Tea with rice milk.
D: Vegetable stir fry dressed with dark soy sauce, and about 50g rice. Also too many Thai vegetable crackers and 2 glasses dry white:o

    Today:
B: Up late so had tea with rice milk + 2 macadamia nuts
L: 1 nut cutlet, 3 small roast potatoes (whole batch had 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil), and half a plate of mixed veg with gravy. About a 5cm square of hm toffee cake (no dairy/eggs, so lower in fat than could have been... and there I go trying to convince myself lol ;) ) with about 6tbsp oatly cream. Loads of water.
T: 1 small wholemeal bap and 2 tbsp hummus. 2 cups of tea with splash of rice milk.
Supper: having a small glass of dry white now and likely to have another with some pimento stuffed olives and carrot sticks a bit later.

    Tomorrow's plan:
    B: Banana smoothie (with oats)
S: Coffee or tea with pear and/or mixed nuts
L: "Chicken" slices rolled up around a smear of garlic herb toffuti, plus big salad.
S: Coffee or tea with pear and/or mixed nuts
D: Mixed beans with couscous dressed with extra virgin olive oil

Have a good week all :)
Love and compassion to all x
  • hi all, can i join in?

currently got a weight watchers subscription going but wanna save the money if i can.

What kind of plans are you guys sticking to? i know the principles, but struggle with portion sizes, and mid afternoon hunger.

we are going away in May to Cuba so ideally would like to lose about 23 pounds by then.

a further 20 after that maybe but im not sure (im very very tall and hourglass shape, just with extra padding at the minute!)

    Hello Everyone.

I have decided that this year is the year I get my act together. I am in the zone at the moment not sure how or why :rotfl:

I have a whopping 6st to loose in total. So in for the long slog.

I admit to buying and reading loads of diet books and can I follow them, not likely.

I have thought about all the food I shovel down with out a thought, all the extras that I don't really need. And did I enjoy eating them not really.

I have gone back to basics. I thought back to the time when I lost the most amount of weight in my life. It was in the 3 months in the run up to my wedding. I lost between 2 and 2 and half stone. And I never did anything silly to do it.

I ate three meals a day. With my evening meal being a huge plate of steamed veg with gravy with some protein chucked in. (do bear in mind this was in the depth of winter december/jan/feb) and I cycled 5 miles a day in the dark evening no matter if it was freezing cold or not.

I am now back to eating three meals a day with fruit as snacks and no extras part from a little extra on the weekends. And then straight back to eating as I should.

Sadly at 38 years old I have finally managed to crowbar in to my cranium that I can't eat everything in sight and not put weight on. I have to do the really boring thing of eat three meals a day with a little treat every so often. And not blame others for my over eating because of the stress they cause.

Like the chocolate fudge I had on thursday :j Yummy and I enjoyed it even more than usual. I did have tuna steak, jacket pot and salad as my mains. And I still lost weight :j

I lost 4lbs last week. But need to start to exercise as well.

As well as losing weight it is going to make my wallet more healthy as well as I will stop buying binge food.

All the best to everyone. Not sure how often I will pop in but will try at least once a week.

    Yours

    Calley

:D or even Afternoon...was still morning when I started posting, got distracted.

    Well done to the losers

Hope my plans don't go too off track this week

    Today
B - crunchy museli-type cereal with bits of strawberry in (very nice), milk
L - leftover pasta bake (not entirely HM, but very nice anyway)
    Sn - Apple & plums
D - sticky spicy honey chicken, mash, carrots, cauli & brocolli
Sn - W8watchers mini choc ice thing on a stick

    Tuesday
    B - $ainsbo's own brand w££tabix, milk & sug
L - Sardines & tomato on toast, bit of greenery
    sn - l/f yog, fruit
D - bacon, egg, blackpudding, tomato, mushrooms

we have THAT blooming boring radio station playing again at work.....in June 2009 I started noting the records they played - found the list last week - THEY'RE PLAYING THE SAME STUFF!! I wouldn't mind but it's 3 or 4 times per day. trouble is, my colleague seems oblivious of this despite my [STRIKE]sarcastic[/STRIKE] subtle 'oh, this sound familiar, have they played this one today already?' and my [STRIKE]even more sarcastic [/STRIKE]not so subtle "this is the third time they've played this record today".

I am so grumpy lately.....can you tell?
