marygoodwife its probably just your body getting used to the changes, hope your snacks help you.

            TODAY:
B: 2 toast, one with peanut butter one with pate - had far too much of both so probably 450 cals
L: HM minestrone soup & pitta bread
S: forgot my banana so will go to shop and look for something
            D: salmon+capers&herbs, pots & veg

must go shopping tonight, although we can limp along for a few more days on the food in the house, I have no body lotion which is driving me mad!

was naughty last night I had 2 handfuls of pine nuts and a glass of wine. so must eat before I go shopping or I will be tempted by treats!

            :DMorning All

I keep making meal plans and it keeps going awry!

Planned to have Chicken, HM wedges & feta salad last night but when I got home the chicken hadn't defrosted and OH had cooked roast potatoes (which were yum by the way) to have with the left over from Sunday gammon (also yum, but that's not the point!).

            Hopefully, this is today's doings

Br - egg on toast, cuppa tea, OJ (yep, so far so good)
            Sn - Apple
Sn - @lpen yog & strawberry bar thing
Lu - grated moz & cheddar toastie sarnie with salad
            sn - l/f yog
D - that blooming chicken, HM wdges & feta salad

            Friday
Br - $ainsbo's own brand w33tabix, milk, sug
Sn - maybe some fruit - I don't tend to snack as much when not at work
Lu - HM Chicken, leek & bacon soup with mini pitta
D - DS has promised us a take-away IF the **!!!XXXXXing agency has paid him on time, so will be chicken wrap and nick a few of OH's french fries.

I need to get out more

E.T.A. above comment refers to me being stuck in office all day long and not taking proper away from desk break....:D

I can relate to that! I eat far more at work than I do at home, the snacks and bits stave off the dull boredom of some of my days! Not good, but fact. And my boss (bless him) turns up now and then with sausage baps as a treat.......

            It's a loooong road ahead!

            Bfast
            eggs, beans, slice quorn bacon
Lunch - new potatoes with nutcutlet (which was horrid by the way!)
Tea - fish pie topped with sweet pot mash
Snack - fromage frais and two oat biscuits

Eltee best way to eat what you plan is have bog all else in the house!! PS haven't been shopping since a blow out at xmas (have bought bread/milk etc from corner shop) so the meal plan is the only way to ensure we don't use something that is going to be a main meal later in the week.

came on again to say my HM minestrone soup was horrible - watery and just yukky. have one more batch in the freezer which may go to the dog.

was half good at the shop, bought a fat free yogurt :A which is 100cals but then bought a wide boy peperami :o which is 200 cals. But I'm grateful of it now i've been disappointed by my soup :rotfl:
                  2. i was kept up late by my very drunken flat mates last night, so just woke up. Its not a real problem as i have nothing to do today!

Did mean that i missed breakfast and lunch so far has consisted of a cup of tea. the unhealthy student way to lose calories;)

Am going to attempt to make hm french onion soup today vegetarian lasagne (there has already been much resistance from the OH at the lack of meat)

hopefully if i keep to this will have some healthy HM meals and fewer calories!!!

                    tomorrow is another day....

Weight watchers has worked for me in the past, but only as I had major reasons (wanting to have children). Now that's not a reason, I can't seem to find the willpower...

Having said that, I have lost 8lbs since Christmas woopwoop!!
Starting weight at Christmas 13st4, current weight 12st10, goal (ideally) 9st something! Target time, by Christmas of this year.
                    39lbs to go.

I know ALL the theory, just don't appear to be able to follow it at the mo. Grr!!

                    Hello

                    Can I join, please

My Dh's birthday was yesterday and mine is at the beginning of May. If I can count right that means it's 100 days bewteen them. We both need to lose 2 stone. That would require losing a little bit more than the recommended 2lb per week to do it in 100 days but I'm hoping to get the 'first week' effect where you lose a bit more than that before settling down to a healthy rate of loss.

I have porridge for breakfast every day made with half milk and half water with semiskimmed milk and 2 tsp sugar plus a very small glass of orange juice which I have so I absorb the iron from the porridge , and to take my vitamin pill with. I only have sugar on porridge and I can't bear it without - besides, I love the crunch it gives. So I'm not going to be purist about that.

I think that comes to about 300 calories so that leaves me about 1000 for the rest of the day (am nearly 57 so need to keep the total down to compensate for the slower metabolism). Plus I've started going to the gym as soon as I drop DD at school. I ued to come home and do the chores meaning to go later - but of course, I never did. So I've done 45 minutes either on the treadmill or swimming, 3 days this week and will try and keep that up. Don't feel terribly motivated to do the chores when I get back but, hey, you cant have everything.

I need to do some working out of how I can best use my calorie budget - very OS style. I need to keep my calcium intake as high as possible because I have osteopenia (precursor to osteoporosis) and low fat dairy products (which all the diet books tell you to eat) are simply not worth it when it comes to meaningful amounts of calcium from what I have been able to discover. Fortunately parmesan is the highest of all cheeses in calcium and you don't need very much because it tastes so good with just a little. Emmental and Gruyere are also about 50% higher in calcium than cheddar and lower in fat. Green leafy veg also help with calcium but I do need to make sure I get some dairy as you have to keep your Vitamin D levels up if you have osteopenia otherwise you don't absorb the calcium ( and there sure ain't enough sun around at the moment to get it that way)

However by the time I've tried to work out a meal plan that includes enough calcium and makes sure I get my 5 a day, and two servings of oily fish per week, the calorie budget is fairly stretched. I have a few meal plans that work calorie wise and nutrient wise but am looking forward to getting more ideas

Starting weight yesterday 74.5 kilos which I think equates to 11 stone 10 lb. I am 5'5" (I think - I used to be 5'6" but I have lost some height due to the osteopenia). That puts the BMI well into the overweight category. Losing 2 stone would take me back to the weight I was in my 30s - I'm not trying to get back to where I was in my 20s, but I think that would be a good weight to be healthwise. I need to keep a reasonable weight for the sake of my bones , but being too heavy is putting a lot of strain on knees and ankles.

This week will be difficult as DH likes to celebrate his birthday over several days plus my best friend's 60th is on Sunday and his best friend's 60th is next Saturday. But I like the idea of seeing how I get on over the course of 100 days rather than waiting till February to start.

So wish me luck and willpower
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
